Thanks for making the video, there were some things I wanted to verify before I took mine off to paint. Gave you a 👍 up and a subscription

Hey there, at the very beginning u mention u are redoing the manifold removal cuz u installed the sensors wrong in the back with white switches.
I did this as well and now im getting a p2014 code which is faulty sensors. Replaced both with new ones but cant get light to go out, did you have same problems too and what did you do to fix the sensors , great vid btw. 2 shops so far cant figure what is wrong

You need to make sure the sensor is connected with the flap. There is a grove on the sensor that connects to a small metal rod that comes out of the intake manifold make sure to connect those so they are both synchronized in order for the sensor to open and close the flaps. I don’t remember if the sensors are interchangeable so you have to check that. You can easily check that by opening and closing the flaps by hand after you have synchronized sensor and manifold if the flaps get stuck it means you installed the sensors backwards. Also know that the sensors are only telling the car where the flaps are. The flaps are activated by vacuum so check the vacuum lines that are connected to the intake from the two canisters at the back

If you hear a ticking noise coming from the flaps that is a good indication the sensors are not synchronized with the flaps. Also make sure that all electrical connections are connected both on sensors and vacuum canisters at the back of intake manifold.

Hi and thanks for the great detailed reply. We already did the replacement twice lol. First intake manifold was replaced due to lots of obvious issues with driving conditions, loss of power at low rpm, rough idling etc and the code we got was a misfire code of some sort and i think it was a P2007 IMRC stuck open code. Put everything back and then immediately got the P2014 code, valve position sensor error code.
We then went ahead and replaced both sensors just in case with brand new ones also. Car drives fine with no mechanical issues and a shop verified there are no evap leaks and that all parts are working as intended. They think its a PCM that is bad and needs to be replaced with either a new one or a used one and flashed. Wondering if you went thru the same thing as well, hence why i asked because you cant really put the sensors back in wrong since they are physically not interchangeable on which side you put them in, physcially different with different screw hole positions. Been a night mare going on 2 months now and 2 shops.

@@seanyoung3535 I did not come across that issue when changing the intake manifold on my car. However I don’t believe the PCM is the issue here. I would check the IMRC fuse first to see if it’s blown. Check all wiring connections next. If the shops can’t help call a ford service center and see what they advise they give you.

Same thing happened to mine. Did you replace it with a 2018 manifold?

Did you have to take the intake off or is there another shortcut to replace that sensor?
