cool lesson. it's good to view this as a start and then we can learn some stuff by experimenting by ourselves instead of just following tabs. definitely wanna see more of these!

This is an awsome idea, the why and the how of playing a song is what's been missing . Great job.

ok,here's why I think its a good idea:
    1. TEXAS FLOOD blew my mind the first time I heard it, my first SRV too. Years later it still gives me thrills.
    2. You can get free tabs on net if you look hard enuff but it doesn't help much, its been so long since I last sat down and learned the whole songs. I'm a programmer who still wants to continue playing whenever
    3. More hows and whys on what makes TF ticks, Very cool!

Hey Anthony! This is really one your best ideas IMO! I really like to learn what I play and why I play it. I think this will drastically improve my blues guitar playing! Keep it up! Another thing that I would really like to see is an advanced blues rhythm guitar course!
    Thanks!

I found this very useful but let me say I play bass reasonably well but I'm not musically gifted and also I have bad hearing and I've always been more or less Don deaf. so my problem is identifying the chord structure on which to play bass.
often do not have the ability to learn and remember what is played on a record, but if I know the structure I usually play an interesting bass that fits and this is for jam sessions and open stages. I'm not in a gigging band.
I was very confused by the introduction and the turnaround and when I looked at ultimate Guitar etc. I ended up more confused but you laid it out in such a clear manner.
    thanks very much

This is an awesome idea. I'd much rather learn the 'song guide'- enabling me to do my own improvisations instead of learning a note-for-note solo. Just my .02

    • @waydebaker33
      @waydebaker33 4 роки тому

YES EXACTLY! learning a song note-for-note is so boring once you understand guitar. You've hmgot to make it you're own! If you love a song enough to connect to it and understand and fell the emotions that the artist does, then you've gotta tell YOUR story. Its great. I love it. I'm happy now.

The biggest challenge I have with this lead playing is hearing the chord transitions in playing. It sounds mostly like G. Its hard to pick out when it goes to C. It really just sounds arbitrary. The D turnaround is clear though. When he starts the singing it really sounds like just playing G then simple transition to C quickly then the turnaround.

Most guitar players don't read music anyway. no need to for the most part on guitar as opposed to an instrument like piano. SRV definitely played what he felt though better than just about anyone. Phenomenal player!

Cool stuff! I’m not familiar with your program. I learned the traditional way, back in the 80s. But still always learning. Anything newer, like the CAGE method, or the system you have created, just seems confusing-to me. But I can kind of see where people just learning theory would find this helpful, or maybe more of a shortcut? Which is totally fine. Man, I only got through a couple years of theory myself. I just wanted to get out there and play more, so I dropped out of music school pretty early on.
Anyway, I was wondering why your box three and five, in particular, looks so different from the traditional box scales. Are you just doing a different pattern, maybe based on your method, or maybe I will have to watch a little more closely. Thank you. A lot of great stuff. Great tone! 👍🏻🎸

Yes its the best way but its not for beginning guitar players it takes time to get your head around the way to play on your own by sound its little shapes of fingers strength in fingers and right hand left hand brain together function I enjoy watching for tips and gave up years ago being perfect note for note I beat myself up to much and do it 85 percent these days no body knows and who cares anyway
