This Means War is the third album by British heavy metal band Tank, released in 1983. On this album, the line-up expanded to a four-piece, with the addition of second guitarist Mick Tucker, former member of the NWOBHM band White Spirit. Thanks to Tucker's songwriting contributions and to the sound expanded by an extra guitar, the band changed their music in comparison with their previous albums with longer, more melodic compositions, which helped differentiate Tank from Motörhead, the band they were often compared to.Tank is a British heavy metal band, formed in 1980 by Algy Ward, a former member of The Damned. The band is known as part of the new wave of British heavy metal movement. Tank was often compared to Motörhead as both bands, trios fronted by singing bassists, played a loose, almost punk-styled metal music with often colourful lyrics.

31yo from germany, was a metalhead all my youth, still loving (black) metal but never really got much into trash/heavy just noticed tank for the first time after a new love for thrash/heavy came out of nowhere last week I really feel like being 19 again haha

Now this is a gem....I found this album in a card board box at a flea market my parents would take me to on the weekend...some guy selling stuff out of an old Ford Pinto...I remember it well!!! I would scream this shit as loud as I could in my room when no one was around...my cassette said "Not for sale...Promotional copy only" played it till the fucking tape wore out! this is the shit I built my love of metal on🤘

Such a great album..With Mick Tucker in the band it brought a Blackmore/Schenker vibe to their amazing Guitar section.. I been a fan since Filth Hounds of Hades..One of my favorites for sure..R.I.P. Algy the original Filth Hound..We love you brother..The track Hot Lead Cold Steel always reminded me of Stargazer from Rainbow Rising..
They deserved more credit in the development of the speed / thrash genre...they are still at it!!!!

My first ever LP bought all by myself when I was 14. I don't remember what triggered the purchase but I bought it and I had it on repeat for a few years. A friend had recorded a tape for me that had Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Mötorhead on it and I loved it but wanted to discover my own shit as well. Shortly after this I bought a picture disc version of the Creeping Death 12" by Metallica and that was it for me. I then graduated to Slayer, and later to Death Metal a few years later and that went on for a few years. I stopped looking for new metal in the mid 90s as I got bored and it seemed history was repeating itself. The last record that blew my mind was Blood Duster's Fisting The Dead which was another level of humor, brutality and skill. Nothing could top that so I stopped looking.

Damm this some badass stuff rite here. Awesome can't believe I missed the tank lol pun lol first time around yes I've heard of them and seen their albums but never got in to them .
I think a name like Tank and their album artwork and logo are enough to check them out. It would be a little iffy determining that on their first album though. It's pretty much how I got into metal. I love the aesthetics of it and what it could be and yadayadayada.

Creo que Tank si hubiesen salido 5 o 6 años antes, hubiesen sido la cresta de la new wave, por delante de Judas e incluso Maiden, no se qué pasaría en un futuro de esa forma, pero sin duda...es un grupo que se mereció muchisimo más!!! Siempre nos quedará su obra, para disfrutarla
