I remember the days when the driver's license was sufficient ID to do any function in the US and passports were only needed for travel outside the country and to come back in. But in the last few years it is so easy for anybody to get a social security number and driver's license that they are no longer legitimate documents. I noticed that the real ID does not require a birth certificate or proof of citizenship for that matter. They're trying to fix the problem but not doing anything to actually solve it.
Let me tell you about these idiots. I have a real ID however, I wanted to change my address. They sent me a standard DL with no real ID. The told me I would have resubmit all documents in order to get a real so, I use my old DL
