I have cartographer on voron 2.4 and custom vz330, before printing you have to make sure that the nozzle is 100% clean. even a small amount of filament on the nozzle will cause a problem with survey touch. that's why you had a silicone nozzle wiper in the cartographer package. I haven't set the z-offset since I got Cartographer. even after replacing the nozzle.
@hobbyistnotes yeah the offset isnt really automatic. Mine is set at 0.165 and haven't had to mess with it since i set it. Idk if you dont have scanner_touch_z_offset: value saved in the printer.cfg but that will automatically adjust your offset once it does the touch before the print.
One thing on the cartographer touch. When you go through the touch calibration you really need to run it through its paces and try lots of different values, dont be satisfied with the first setting it finds to be acceptable. I ended up with speed of 2 and 1500 on the whatever that is for touch. I end up getting a repeatable .003mm standard deviation.
Kind agree actually as I have DragonBurner on my Voron 0 and decided to try something new this time. XOL turned out to be more expensive than dragon and harder to assemble as well. Will use it for a while and time will show for sure.
I just switched my 2.4 to XOL Metrix. Ive yet to put it through its paces but one thing i can say from assembly is its definitely not as simple as Stealthburner to work on.
I was gonna ask why he chose this over A4T. Im currently waiting on parts for my A4T upgrade over stealthburner. I'm going CAN, cartographer, pins mod, and Im ditching the vitalii tap.
I think its weird what is happening to your cartographer. i had to set it up once, with the z offset, and never touched it again, and I get 100% perfect first layers

Glad you liked it. I gave up on reviews and found enjoying myself more making this kind of content.
I like your presentation style. You won a sub. 👍👍

Thanks for suggestion I will take a look.

you printer looks cooler than the inside of my 2000$ computer -_-
My computer also looks worse 😅

I got the same .003 repeatability after 4th time calibrating it with 8250 value but z offset is still off the same ~0.1mm from needed value.
❤ thank you for showing the fan wiring. I burned out three fans.
I feel like using 5v isn't ideal, 100% there should be better alternative.
XOL is great but I prefer the Dragon Burner or Rapid Burner toolhead... Give it a try.. Works great with Cartographer and my Voron V2 350mm

For sure!
have a look at the A4T. Better cooling than the XOL. very similar BOM.
Thanks, definitely will check it!

Turned out I am living under the rock and never seen A4T toolhead 🤯

I have set 1st layer to be 0.25 it's kind of helped a bit but still I wish configuration be touch more flexible.
