Thanks for the review. I have the Crosman NP series in both .177 and the .22. I thought I might upgrade to the NP2 to see if I can tell the difference in the cocking effort and the power. Most of my shooting is done from about 30-45 yards. I do have a target set up at just over 60 yards. I agree with you on the price point, I never mounted the scopes that came with either gun and I wont on the 1 I just ordered. Guns surpass the scopes ability. Keep up the good work. Happy shooting and may all your shots be in the 10. UPDATE: Got mine a couple days ago and I agree with everything you said about it. After giving the barrel a much needed cleaning, looked like used motor oil, and making sure all screws were tight I dashed out and started running Crosman hollow point. First 2 shots were in the 10 mark at just over 25 yards. I kept shooting at same target till I made confetti out of it. I moved my target out to 50 yards and was consistently hitting in the 8,9l10 marks. Then, just for fun I tacked a pie pan to a 4X4 post at just under 60 yards and fired 4 times, every pellet hit the pan. Keep in mind I did accomplish this with the enclosed scope. I used Kentucky windage for the last shots. My trigger has some creep but it is getting better. I have 2 Crosman's with the NP first generations, one in .177 and .22 and this gun is so much more powerful and easier to cock. I'm not nearly as big as you. Im more on the "fun sized" side of stature and I have no problems with hold or sighting in other than I have to custom build a higher cheek rest. I have to on all my guns. Really glad I saw your review I watched several of your videos and really enjoy your honest and frank opinion of both the good and bad.
Good job on the review, I got one from Cabelas @ $159.99 on Feb 28th. There was a $25 rebate too. I agree with the review, but I'd like to add a few things- Quality control: 1) On mine the action is very slightly tilted to the left in the stock when viewed from the rear. 2) The improved CBT trigger is pretty awful. Adjustment makes the first stage much shorter. The 1st stage is heavier than my RWS 36 second stage!! There's about 3/8" of 2nd stage creep if you pull slowly! The only way the trigger breaks cleanly is literally to snatch it, almost "snap" or "pop" it. CHAMBER OIL! There's a ton of excess which is good so you know your piston head will be riding a rust free & lubed bore. It just takes a while to shoot it out. The last RWS 34 I bought was BONE DRY. Actually dry. A real Air Gun scope would be nice. I'd rather have their cheap 4x w/ A.O. The replacement for this rifle model, or the upgrade, if you like, is the $339.99 Mayhem SBD w/ 3x-9x 40mm with A.O. It also has open sights which I think are useless at a $340 price point on a Benjamin, I think everybody is going to use if with optics. It's not like it's some Feinwerkbau or Weihrauch.
I diesel mine for more power , I know I risk damaging it,but hasn't happened yet, been doing this for about a year now , I get a heck of a lot more power out of it , I don't own a chrony yet, but I do break glass bottles @ 90 yards doing this , I use WD 40 , paid $209 at big 5 using there 20% coupon , no regrets !
This pellet rifle, or at least my Benjamin steel .22 prefers a heavy round . You'll find your accuracy and groupings start to get better when your shooting a 20-30 grain pellet . I bought mine from cabellas on day 1 and paid 343.00 . Worth every penny too. Just needs a really heavy duty scope , cause this gun has some serious recoil . You'll get a red shoulder after a long day of shooting .
Hey have you noticed that the silencer on this barrel completely unscrews off?? Makes it noticeable louder with alloy pellets. Would be awesome if another silencer could be screwed on that gives it a more tactical look. With the factory silencer removed you can use a real barrel mount bipod on this gun without buying the $30 Gamo bipod which I've found is the only one that fits this gun with the factory silencer. Also with it off you can actually use a bore laser sight to get the scope zeroed in.
I was just on Cabela's site...even with their new "shooter sale" starting today...and No Luck. Can you provide a link to the page. Sure would appreciate it. Take care.
sorry I want to know what measure of rail is the one that uses this rifle is 11mm or 20mm per fabor I want another look but I do not know what size of rail is what I need
I got this gun for just under 60.00 and that included 1 can of Gammo lead game pointed pellets, I still have about half of those left, i got it that cheap because, ( the very last time) i will ever stand in a black Friday line, I did so at cabellas and I had a gift card from them for 25.00 for filling out a credit card form that I never used. LOL I say i still have that can of ammo for a reason, I never bought another one, I have not target shot this, I left it in the box until this year really ( 2023 ) i took it out, sighted it in with a cheapo bore laser from about 40 yards. I have only shot it up to around 70 yards and I have only shot it for the tree rat removal this year due to a major infestation. I am at #51 so far with that can, these pellets rarely go all the way through, lung or head is all i do, very easy to get on the mark. only a few I have had enough time b4 departure to get another one in and for some reason those have all been fairly high falls, i attribute it to adrenaline, could be wrong. This scope sucks and the trigger is way bad, I will look at the rest of your vids to see how to adjust that, i have no clue right now but I have been dreaming of it, but YUP! this is the only break barrel I have ever had, only .22 cal I have ever had and the cheapest air rifle i have ever owned except for my old red rider when I was a kiddo. LOL I can barely wait to get a can of those alloy ones you were talking about, sounds awesome. yeah this scope though, UUGH, very gnarly, i wish I could find something better that is not too spendy that works well on this rifle. No clue what these people talking about recoil mean, lol but i do only have this and a 7mm mag so seems like next to none for me, I don't target shoot with that other rifle either, it;s for the elk. all business for this low budget man. LOL Thanks for the review i will see about that trigger asap.
*I love this rifle>>**ur2.pl/944** but seal came out when I took out clip a seal was with it as I removed the clip then I placed a clip to shoot and when shot it was loud as if it was not shrouded any more but it is a great pellet run great power*
i got one , had to stand in line in the rain, it was on sale for black Friday, it was the only thing i would have stood out there for. i always wanted to try one of these out. it had a 25.00 rebate and i won a 20.00 coupon in line. I got this rifle and two big packs of pellets for under 100 bucks! LOL i'll tell ya what though. this scope is terrible. i want o get a different one but I have not yet. I have been using it without a scope at all. I don't want to get too much dough in though because i am positive there is better ones out there and I am sure they are a pretty penny.
I still wish you would try one level of air rifle up from your normal fare, just so we could get a reference that was based on YOUR opinion, which I think would would be interesting & informative. Something like a $299.99 Weirauch HW30S or HW95. Also, I've seen the Walther Terrus wood stock for $225, I'd like to see you review it.
J Tee I bought a Terrus .17 and am not impressed with it. Maybe it is me but I cannot make it shoot like my Benji. Trail NP. I was looking for the ultimate wood air rifle, not this one.
Is there a video with the Benjamin Phoenix. 22 nitro piston 2 ? I just ordered it ... also planing to get the Benjamin summit.22 👈if I'm correct I think there's a video you did of the summit... hope to hear from you whenever you can 👍 blessings to all ..
What do you think of the Benjamin Prowler .22?? Its a cheaper gun only $99 at the Walmart so I was thinking about picking one up. The reviews are pretty good, if you could review it that would be awesome! I have a Hatsan AT-44 in .25 cal but wanted something smaller for plinking and hunting small game. Love the vids by the keep up the great work!
Hey Kennt, first off great reviews. Lovce all the technical details. I actually out and purchased this rifle based off your review. I'd say I jumped the gun a bit though because I assumed that it would have the same power output as the Benjamin Trail Magnum considering they both claim 1100 fps with alloy pellets..clearly I was wrong. I guess it'll have to do til the new Gamo Swarm Magnum comes out which is the gun I believe I want. Anyways I'm having a very hard time getting this rifle zeroed in..it seems to be all over the place! Any recommendations? I'm not used the recoil this gun has so maybe that's it? I'm not freehanding it, I have the stock resting on a solid surface and I still can't get consistent groups! BTW I'm shooting Benjamin Discovery 14.3g pellets.
The gun is hold sensitive. Rest the forearm on a Sandbag or shooting bag and hold it firm to your shoulder with your trigger hand. Mine seemed to like the JSB Jumbo Heavy 18.13g pellets the best.
Ad revenues use to cover the cost of these reviews but over the last 365 days they have dropped by 59.3% from the first 365 days and are still falling. I was covering the cost out of my own pocket but over a year ago I was diagnosed with Terminal Cancer and can no-longer afford to do both. My viewer want me to continue to do these reviews and those donations are keeping the reviews going. I still need to prepay for a funeral because my children cannot afford that. Hopefully I will still be doing these reviews for a couple of years.
Hi Kenny, I bought this rifle at Cabelas on sale ..I like the accuracy and I recently bought a chrony and measured velocity .. I was disappointed with the power.. high of 752 FPS low of 742 FPS...with the 14.3 Premiers... Is that normal to have 60 fps less than what you got in your review.? Thanks and I wish you well with your treatments.
Going to replace the piston if I can find one. I do have a bar clamp and am a retired auto mechanic and can fix and repair just about anything ..but not so cocky that I won't pay close attention when I get into this airgun. I have watched a couple of your vids on piston and spring replacement and learned a lot. Thank you ! U.R. the MAN!
THANK YOU for constantly calling our the phony numbers the manufacturers give. Is this basically the same gun as the Benjamin Summit? Seems to have the same stats.

I own this gun and have nothing good to say about it. The scope is garbage. The gun itself is cheaply made.. I own meany air guns.. this by far is garbage. Jim Shockey should be ashamed of putting his name on this piece of trash....
thank you Kenny for what you're doing for airgun community

I got mine at Cabelas .. YES! What a deal.. Thanks for an accurate review ..
You have nailed it once again Kenny!! Great review
So glad to see you posting.
Good job on the review, I got one from Cabelas @ $159.99 on Feb 28th. There was a $25 rebate too. I agree with the review, but I'd like to add a few things-
Quality control:
1) On mine the action is very slightly tilted to the left in the stock when viewed from the rear.

Thanks Kenny, I've been looking forward to this review so I could compare my Steel Eagle to your results.Great review.
as always a very thorough review! thanks kenny
Que tipo de anillos usa para que o se le aflojen
hi kenny got same gun in ont canada. still learning how to shoot it not used to fireing a np2 it jumps a bit
3000 shtos later i took it back and got a new one. Had problem with open and closing it.
Still the best gun that is sub 500 fps in canada...
Mine does too. My shoulder gets red after an afternoon of target shooting .

Great review Kenny some day do a comparison with your Hatsan 125 and a Kral Arms N-11 in .22 caliber
Thanks for the review. Too bad I missed the Cabela's sale. The rifle is now $370.00 (before taxes) and only available in a sub 500fps.
I just checked and it's still on sale here.
$340 should be the Mayhem, Benjamin list price on the Jim Shokey Steel Eagle is $269.99, you must not be in the Continental US.
I was just on Cabela's site...even with their new "shooter sale" starting today...and No Luck. Can you provide a link to the page. Sure would appreciate it. Take care.

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the NP2 and the NP2 Elite
Does anyone know the average decibels?
What you recommend the Shockey 22 or a Hatsan 95 22 caliber which one would be better
The Shockey has a little more power, is quieter and easier to cock.
what is about this gun and the xl that give it more energy than the other np2s
Piston Diameter and Strength.
i got one , had to stand in line in the rain, it was on sale for black Friday, it was the only thing i would have stood out there for. i always wanted to try one of these out. it had a 25.00 rebate and i won a 20.00 coupon in line. How does this compare to the $170 Hatsan 95/22 Vortex?
I have yet to shoot the Hatsan 95
Bipod ????
try the Benjamin titan np .22 do a review
I have the Titan 22 also in 177 acurate rifle after doing a rc bearing trigger mod

Mechanically these guns mentioned are all the same.
Thanks Kenny for your videos, a question, because there are power differences between this and the Summit?
No.
high Keenly good review.
This steel eagle looks a lot like the benjamin mayhem, aside from the barrel shroud
It should be pretty much the same as the Crosman Crusher I reviewed. Good gun for the money.
What kind of bipod is that?
Plastic one that comes free with many Hatsans.
Hey Kennt, first off great reviews. Lovce all the technical details. I actually out and purchased this rifle based off your review. I will try that, thank you. I have some H&N Baracuda's 18 grains and it didn't do so well with those either. I'll order some JSB's
I also used this to make it fit properly. Ulako 5 Slot Quick Release Low Profile Picatinny Riser Mount
I tried holding it the way you suggested and it makes a world of difference. Have you done a review on the Hatsan Torpedo 155 yet?
I just got it. It'll be awhile.
I like your your review and it was very helpful, but why do you need donations to do more videos, I just found it odd that you would ask

Get some H&N Terminator Pellets. If they are that low too then I'd say you received a gun with less than a full charge in the piston.
Just did the H&N 16,36 gr. Terminators 698 FPS
Going to replace the piston if I can find one. The gun seems to be consistent but a little under powered. See if they will exchange it.
Okay Thanks Again.
10:00 perfect shoots
hey Kenny haven't seen nothing new in around 3 weeks hope you're doing good.
