On one hand, yes, my fears were confirmed as well. On the other, the metallic might have had a hand in ruining the structure. Besides, there's more flexibility as to what you can do with the flat version compared to this metallic one without ruining the looks
@@mj2005gundam really? I thought that the metallic parts were only on the armor parts, not the polycaps sockets/plastic balls. Either way, this kit just highlights the flawed design of the HGIBO gundam frames, as previously exemplified by the Marchosias
I just rewinded the video and saw that some of the joints are metal coated. But I feel the weakness of the IBO frame is still highlighted with how the mass of the armor would just overload the joints, loosening them.
I’ll be waiting for the regular Ver. As I did with painting the frames on my Astaroth Rinascimento to give it stability, this one will need a Gunmetal paint on the frame and some painting on places of stickers, plus with the topcoat to give it further visual and also stability. While I know the fixes for it (top coating), as someone who prefers building out of the box, I can't really be bothered with it unless it's a Gunpla competition or something.
I had a feeling that the metallic version was gonna have the issues of the handling because I've been hearing that 1 of the biggest problems with most metallic releases is how while they look cool, when it comes to posing they don't usually hold on to posing for a good amount of time once the joints start to weaken. And considering this is based off of the final version of the Barbatos and that also had a whole bunch of problems with the joints already due to the gundam frame being a bit of an issue, I had a feeling this would happen. On the bright side at least you can turn this back to the original in a cool metallic red, the metallic red itself is fantastic and the cute little backpack is adorable in a it's not gonna kill you sort of way. I don't think the standard release is gonna be much different but at least it makes for awesome shelf presence. Another soild review!

Question: the torso of Barbatos Lupus, is it the same size as the Lupus Rex? Cuz in Gundam Breaker 4, I was planning to build a combination of Gundam Amazing Barbatos Lupus and Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex
Their sizes are relatively identical discounting minor differences in design dimensions, as they use the same frame. Then again, GB4 allows you to freely resize parts to fit your build. That is if they're adding the Amazing Barbatos Lupus into the game in the first place
