Doom is the greatest comic book villain character ever created and one of Marvel's greatest characters. Top ten marvel anti hero and villain, because he isn't always a true villain. He's a layered egomaniac with the most noble dreams who uses vicious methods to save the earth and humanity from itself.
In terms of Thanos’s motivation, didn’t the Thanos Wins story establish that his motivation was changing? Cuz at the end he was disappointed with that future he saw.

@@rhoclouds not to argue but I was under the impression that it is, not in a way that says that’s the future we’re getting, but rather that Thanos saw that future, and erased it when he killed King Thanos, leaving him with the experiences from the story and a new motivation.
Karnilla is actually Baulder's love interest. She is only married to Hela in to keep order in Hel. Hela wanted Thanos to be her love, but he dumped her. She even tried to revive him in Guardians of the Galaxy book but failed.
Im glad someone brought it up. So case of writer didnt do their homework, or woke bullshit? Because i look at hela panicing an i get worried im right. Unknowable mistress of the realm of the dead. Normally carries herself like all beings except those of the highest order are beneath her notice. Even thor king of asgard is relegated to little more than breeding stock in her mind and shes losing it over a character who hasnt been relevent since eric masterson wielded the hammer, and i start to wonder what else us gonna get shoe horned in.

Thats why i love this channel! The charisma he has while immersing himself in the story while telling it. Tracks off some times in the funniest ways. But most important having long experience with great knowledge and wisdom to back up the history of the story if it needs any context.

I wonder if the Black Infinity Stone might essentially be similar to a Black Lantern Ring that allows someone to control the undead. Not exactly what the Black Lantern Ring does, but sort of related.

I think its very important to remember for Thanos and his motivation, that Mistress Death had a whole conversation with him in some weird "private space" to prevent some unknown threat from spying on them even in her realm. Towards the end of it she shows him something that makes him understand that he has to play the role of the universe's villain again in order to save it. So the long and the short of it is Thanos is basically putting on an act that he is up to his old "imma destroy everything" act again to actually save existence.

I suspect there is a set up here to have Hela die in the Marvel Universe and have her be replaced BY The new Black Infinity Stone Hela. This in turn allows for Thanos to have the Black Infinity stone while Hela still exists. But rather incapable due to her inexperience but in turn becoming the mcguffin that ends up defeating Thanos by absorbing the current Death Stone and becoming Hela Squared. I'm going to hold this thought and see what happens.

I very much doubt that Marvel is going to be creative enough to say the new infinity stone is anything other than "the void" or "nothingness". Because we've already seen that Knull uses the power of the Living Abyss which is said to be part of the promordial void so perhaps this is how Marvel is going to tie all this into Eddie Brock becoming like Knull by having him obtain this black infinity stone.
Really? Thanos would mop the floor with Doom in a 1v1 encounter any day. Thanos is more intelligent and also has magic. But Thanos one stated that anything that can be done with magic, he can replicate with technology.

Dr. Doom wants to steal the Silver Surfers power for a massive amp...... The Silver Surfer can't hurt Thanos like at all. As powerful as Dr. Doom is this is more of his extreme hubris showing. Without some kind of amp he is absolutely no match for Thanos although Dr. Doom would never admit that. Thor has also easily dominated Dr. doom on more than one occasion without the Odinforce. Even when Dr. doom had the Doomstroyer So you'r assertion That Doom would give Thanos a good fight but base Thor would just get dominated by Thanos in a fight that wasn't even close is directly opposed to the scaling that we've actually seen go on with these characters in continuity in the past. 🤷♂

I honestly HATE this fight because Doom acts ridiculously out of character. He had like a dozen different ways he could have stopped Thanos from killing Baby Hela without THROWING HIS ARM IN FRONT OF THE DAGGER and then PHYSICALLY FIGHTING THANOS. I get that he's wearing POWER ARMOR and that it's really durable and everything, but consider the effort and time wasted leaping in front of the dagger versus just teleporting the baby away with a gesture, which Doom could absolutely do. And then instead of using any one of a hundred different magical or technological options at his disposal to keep Thanos away from him, he THROWS THE BABY AND LETS THANOS DRAG HIM AWAY. It's just...it's really dumb.
Also, the line about Doctor Doom feeling fear because of Thanos and Thor's power. DOOM HAS LITERALLY ERASED ENTIRE UNIVERSES (that he was STILL INSIDE) WITHOUT HESITATION. But you're telling me he's AFRAID because of these two muscleheads duking it out? Give me a break, Donny.

I disagree Re: Doom and Thanos. Depends on writer. I guarantee Starlin would never write it were Doom can easily take Thanos, nor would he be worried about him.
But each writer has their own take on a character and how they do things, especially the “newer” ones. (To me, anyone in the last 10 years or so are new, probably cause I’m old, lol)

@@torrancemoore6152 yeah, and I’m not talking from a MCU fans perspective, I’ve been reading for quite awhile and I’ve loved the character of Thanos since the 70’s before he ever got popular and other knew who he was. (I am also a fan of Count Nefaria, that’s another story).
Thanos was many things, he was also a plotter and schemer, in fact before Darkseid was an obvious inspiration it was stated Menton originally actually was, Thanos was meant to be intelligent and clever. The fact is they also made him incredibly powerful was another factor that made him more of a threat.

After Infinity War - Crusader and when Thanos was trying to make his own Pantheon, he kind of strayed away from death as being his main motivation. However, different riders go back and forth with it.
The MCU Thanos seems to me the Thanos who first met Silver Surfer, who tricked Silver Surfer into accidentally killing half a population with time displacement and teleportion. That Thanos was a ruse to trick Silver Surfer into joining him, which he really didn't think would work anyway.
Thanos have fought Doom a few times.
1. During Infinity Gauntlet, where he pretty much owned Doom with several Marvel Heroes who survived the snap.
2. Infinity War, where Doom and Kang teamed up. I have to re read it since I was also reading the side books where Thanos fought Thanos, which was an awesome fight.

I'm new to comics in general, only starting two years ago, and I consider the Donny Cates Thor run to be the reason as to why I started. That being said, I am disappointed in how it ended. When I read Thor's vision of how he died I was so excited for when it would come to fruition but it didn't happen. Maybe the Al Ewing run will revisit it but I doubt that will happen.
Abandon hope for Cates vision. Embrace Al Ewing

12:49 - most people forget about tue infinity gauntlet saga where doom handed EVERYBODY their butt, including Doom. And on many occasions, Doom was involved when Thanos had arrived and he basically sits in a corner biding his time only to eventually get dealt with.
(Starlin really knows how to write a proper Thanos. This is a guy that can handle the silver surfer after all.)

No, the reality is some writers overhype Dr. Doom and nerf characters to make Doom look good 😂. It's already established Doom is not smarter than blue marvel or Bruce Banner (who beat and out smarted doom wearing just street clothes single handedly in doom's own castle).
If Doom was so smart, he would not need Hela to tell how to cast the spells nor should he had been able to capture someone more knowledgeable than him. So this story is almost like an oxymoron.

Thanos with the Infinity Guantlet is invincible. Only entities like the Living Tribunal and above can even begin to challenge him. His very thought can alter reality. What person on earth can beat REGULAR Thanos, "like that"? A Thanos WITH the Infinity Gauntlet? yea, right.

I think you should do a video about the structure of the omniverse/multiverse. The negative zone, the multiverse, the beyond(where ever the beyonders come from) and any other places in between. Im honestly not sure about the structure, which is why a video would be super informative and enjoyable.

Like one time Doom survived a full on blast from IG, and another time got knocked out by Spiderman. Can we assume from that that spiderman can one shot celestials? I've said this before. I think Doom is curesed by some higher power. He's cursed to never win, no matter how close he gets, or even if he does succeed in obtaining "ultimate" power he will for some simple reason just lose it all, yet again.
So, the Thanos curse?
In this particular book, that curse from a higher power is called "bad writing". Doom acts out of character in some serious plot-induced stupidity here. He had a dozen other options to save Baby Hela besides physically interjecting his arm in the way of the dagger and then THROWING THE BABY AWAY FROM HIM and LETTING THANOS GRAB HIM into a time rift.
He has teleportation options both tech and magical, he has forcefields he can project, all kinds of weapons in his armor and spells at his command that could have (at least temporarily) restrained or pushed Thanos back, but no, he throws his hand in the way and lets himself engage Thanos physically. It's so dumb.
