This is a tutorial on how to drape the Hyderabadi Khada Dupatta. This is an outfit inspired by the Royal Mughal ara and still worn by Hyderabadi brides today.
There are differences in they way it is worn. Some favour this look whilst others prefer the drape all on one shoulder. They can be very ornate .... some over the top...reserved for the wedding day whilst other less heavier dupattas can be simpler for the other wedding functions before the main and can be worn by guests attending a wedding.
Traditionally gifted to the bride by the mother in law, it is often made to weigh more and be very heavily embroidered as a show of wealth..often competing with others 'dupatta's' These dupattas are often treated as heirloom pieces and passed down from generations.
I do hope you find this tutorial useful. This particular outfit was designed by my business partner Samina Khan under our brand DIVA. As I have commissioned this piece as a personal outfit, especially for the tutorial, I have paid for this at normal. The jewellery is also bought by me.

Hi hennafied, I have watched a lot of your videos, they are fantastic. I love all things Indian. In this video, You were saying that you are selling all the outfits you make (how much is your garments including postage).
Is this one still for sale, And how much would it be, including postage in $AUD?
What sizes do you have in stock at the moment? You mentioned that the Duppata is 6 meters in length, what would the extra material cost me, as then later on I can make something else from the Duppata, Saree, Lahenga Cholis Salwa Kameez etc. I love LONG Duppata's.
If so what size is it please? Can you make any of your garments in a size 24 (58). Would it cost more for the same Salwa Kameez /Saree, Lahenga Cholis, Dupatta (Width & Length, Blouse/Cholis, and pyjama's.
Do I need to stitch myself, or is all ready pre sown and ready to wear as soon as I receive them.
Do you have a catalogue that I can look through.

By the way I don't know where you learned it from but the Khada Dupatta is never worn on both sides. It goes only on one side that is left. But the safe yiu used was beautiful.
