So glad you touched on the Jimmy Lile & Jack W Crain knives of the 80s. As soon as I saw these on Marfione's IG I thought it is so close in design to those knives (particularly the Crain Life Support knife). It is such a great homage to those 2 knives.
When I first saw Jim's videos I simply could not understand the desire for flip knives/ autos, fixed blades just appealed more to me. But as I watched a few more videos I started to understand, now I really understand, and I'll admit I now own a few flippers and just can't get enough of them :)

The mirror polish on blades always looks janky to me. I've never found a use for a saw back knife, and on a small knife like this it seems rather pointless. Might be fun to collect, but i like to collect knives that are useful to me.
Then you need to experience Marfione's mirror and Rockstead's mirror. There is no waviness, no haziness, it literally looks like a mirror. Perfectly smooth and ripple free surface with a perfect shine.
They're legal here in UT and I'd probably carry one if every MT or T.M. Custom OTF that I've owned didn't have failure to lock-up issues. You're not missing much...
Love that blade and the otf i recently found out that they were legal here in Texas since 2014 I would love to know where to get that knife at at a budget price
Can't carry double edged knives in TX either. Sucks balls. I have a double tanto carbon fiber & bronzed Spartan Ultratech that finds its way in my pocket sometimes. Don't tell the coppers. Hahaha. Beautiful otf Jim.

of course it locks! and lock knives are not illegal in the UK, you can own one, just not for carrying. but this is an automatic otf anyway,not a lock knife, so technically you can't own one anyway.

Jim as I recall Tony made you a custom OTF because the standard one came as a dagger only but you can't carry one in Texas. Now will the sharpened clip put this one it the "dagger" category ? just wondering. I can't even own one in the great white north.
I think it's a grey area because the topside of the blade is not sharpened all the way, only a small portion. It's not a true double edge where each side has equal cutting edges.
Did you not watch the video where I discussed this in great detail? And no.. the "Rambo knife" is NOT a United Cutlery and the Commando knife (not Predator knife) is NOT a Gerber. The First Blood and Rambo knives were made by Jimmy Lile and the Commando knife was made by Jack Crain. United has a license to reproduce it, and on the Gerber... they're known for design theft so I can't say for certain what they're doing.

I bought a knife for its saw back. It's a 16 inch tactical Bowie knife, the teeth on top go for nearly 6 inches, they are 1/4 wide, 1/4 tall, and are staggered to a needle point, tanto style blade, 2 inches tall and and the belly, and tapers from the belly 4 and a half inches then is strait, it's a monster, you probably wouldn't like it though. Whatever you stick the Bowie into, you are pulling out half of the guts when you pull it out, it's nasty.
That's fucking ridiculous I can buy a knife that'll do the same job is that knife for fucking 40-50 bucks I could buy a 1911 for $1,500 and blow somebody's fucking head off at coming to my house if I had to but if that's what you're into that's what you're into knives God bless you Happy cutting happy throwing Happy Hunting
