    And it isn’t that Travis Kelce’s days that are numbered (hopefully) but literally everybody else in the TE room is on their last contract year. That’s why Wiley got picked.

    Solid draft for the chiefs. They came and got what they needed and didn't over pay. They don't need to draft high risk boom or bust potential superstars because they already have the biggest one in the competition. They just need to keep replenishing the supporting cast, and in this draft they have certainly done that and probably even a bit more.

      Yes. I like that the Chiefs took a swing at addressing their expiring contracts next offseason. If Hicks and Nourzad both hit, then only one of Reed, Creed, or Trey will need to be signed. If the picks don't pan out, they can address them earlier in the draft next year. Signing Tranquil means the Chiefs should not feel desperate to sign Bolton. And I agree that the Chiefs didn't need a boom or bust draft. I expect that Xavier at least will stretch the field, making life easier for the other WR's and Travis. Kingsley seems like a safe pick to be the swing tackle, at least. I like the floor of both high picks.

    Worthy had 1k and 10td as a freshman. Between 2021-2024 he’s top 3 in the nation for production. Only behind nabers and odunze. His routes are great. 41 inch vertical.

    Worthy as a first round pick is ahead of where hill was as a 5th round RB/ATH when it comes to route running and just being a complete WR and not just a fast guy. Even Mecole was a CB in college to that’s not a good comparison either because he is still learning the fundamental of being a WR till this day.

    • @jacksonpayne3477

      From what I remember The main reason hill was a 5th round wasn’t because of play, it was because of character concerns, IE domestic violence, something he seemed to continue to have an issue with.

    That new kicking format is a complete change of rules! It's argued the The Chiefs won over the 9ers because they understood the rules better- dont know that I agree but the Chiefs are very aware of the impact and have made their plans for rules changes.I assess rules changes help KC a younger faster playing team than most.

    • @jacksonpayne3477
      @jacksonpayne3477 22 дні тому

      Not really, shanahan knew the rules and just made a dumb decision. Not all the players knew at the start of overtime but it didn’t matter because Shanahan was the one who elected to differ. 49ers would have lost with the old rule format as well.

    He’s a very skilled route runner, plays through contact, has very good hands, and takes no plays off. I’m not worried about hood size because he can put on 10-12lbs and be great. The one negative is that he takes too many steps to break on a route but that can easily be fixed.

    To be younger guy in football and ya have to learn to let go of a career in your early to mid 30s. Tough thing to do bro.
    Chiefs Center contract up in a year.lots of contracts coming due in 25.
    Chiefs drafting in a system designed to make Champs draft suck.
    I evaluate two things- how well did the competition draft versus how well did the Chiefs find players with good potential to do the job we suspect they were selected to do- based on the teams need? I think the analogy here was on the right path but a hair weak on why the Chiefs selected the players they did.
    Pending contracts are coming due , new guys have years under contract with the team and a team budget,
    if you consider those things given when the Chiefs picked-it is a very solid draft, if they found a half dozen in sum that
    Stick its a touchdown. Not everyone is listed, European rugby olayer signed, a phenom punter signed, Hollywood is looking to have a big year to get paid big bucks, so he is rolling the career dice here, so lots pieces to turn into a cohesive team. If you are a coach the juices are flowing right now on both sides of the ball.
    I know this---a car accident by a player that lapsed into a stupid act--changed the urgency of this draft, it turns out maybe it did change a priority that could become a blessing in disguise for everyone. Itm optimistic the Chiefs draft was as good as any other team in a system designed to hurt the Repeat champion , KC Chiefs.

I don’t love double dipping IOL but the undrafteds made it ok for me. That’s where I’m at. This is the worst and laziest analysis of Worthy Ive seen ... Worthy has never been accused of lacking physicality ... most of his big plays at Texas were not deep routes ... that wasnt the strong suit of his QB Ewers ... he was deadly in space and making defensive players miss at the short and intermediate range ... the kid played nearly a whole season with a broken hand and was productive ... hes not a bruiser but the kid is tough and highly productive whose speed was used to force defenses to gameplan for it ... watch sine games, talk to some Texas fans or coaches, and stop regurgitating the lazy talking points of clueless folks

    • @sonnydaze2381
      @sonnydaze2381 21 день тому

      @@robertscifers2371 FYI bully ball for a WR is when the DB toes the line of scrimmage and he know there is going to be full contact for those five yards. I can see Worthy struggling in that situation. Also Pat throws to Kelce when he is covered all the time. He is just great at bully ball. (pushing off)

    • @robertscifers2371
      @robertscifers2371 21 день тому

      @@sonnydaze2381 The common take is that Coleman is slow and doesn't separate. He is good at making contested catches. That isn't how the Chiefs or PM operate. (I'm not an expert on Coleman. Are the evaluators wrong?) That doesn't mean he will not succeed as a pro. It means that he isn't a fit for KC. Worthy won't need to play bully ball. First, he can win at the line some based on quickness. And, most of the time, he probably will get a start in motion. Furthermore, the Chiefs seem like they want to stretch the field and open things up for Kelce and Rice. So, Brown and Worthy appear to be strategic pick ups for KC. Both are sub 4.3. Both are not just straight line athletes, either. They run other routes effectively. Would Coleman have opened up the field at all for Rice and Kelce?

    • @sonnydaze2381
      @sonnydaze2381 21 день тому

      @@robertscifers2371 The LAZY take is that he is slow and does not separate. He was clocked at 20 MPH+ while PLAYING FOOTBALL. Basically one person says something and then you get 99 parrots. He was forecast to go top 20 and fell because of "Talk". Tony Dungy and Rodney Harrison made a video today calling it nonsense and saying he will be very productive. Worthy was overdrafted. He wasn't talked about in the 1st round until the 4.21. Same with John Ross when he ran the 4.22. You don't draft a 1st rd that needs gimmicks to get off the line. He will be decent, maybe 35 catches/year, but not what the hype is saying.
