This guy was in musth so highly dangerous and unpredictable. When bull elephants have those dark strip behind the eyes, which are glandular secretions, people must stay away from them.
I’m not convinced this guy was in musth. The leaking at the temporal lobes can happen at any time of the year, not only when they are in musth. When they are in that stage, the secretion is usually drenching the sides of the face and incredibly smelly. The most telling sign of musth is a constant dribble of urine that leaves wet, greenish stains on their back legs and also stinks to high heaven. I didn’t signs of that on this bull. Elephants knock trees over all the time searching for food and water (they actually fell more trees every year than humans!) and he was either curious or had an itch and the truck bed was the perfect height to scratch it. He wasn’t really showing any signs he was particularly annoyed just showing off how big and strong he is. It was an awesome experience, thanks for sharing!
Look closely around 4:50 and you'll see him dribbling urine. Also, the lower part of his hind legs are wet, soaked in urine. I agree that the streaming at the temples is not enough to indicate musth. It's a sign of emotion or excitement, both in bulls and cows.
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond with great information. Funny, that thought about leaves at the top of a tree actually crossed my mind, but I dismissed it. In shows and videos of Africa I would expect to see a lot of fallen dead trees, but haven't noticed them. Silly, huh? Thank you again.
Elephants, even males in Musth, are not territorial, which means that they don't think of land belonging to them. Adult male elephants are what is called, nomadic. They walk far distances as they follow food sources grass, leaves, and the inside, cambium (sp) layer, of tree branches, which they eat when food is scarce. Elephant herds, which are compromised of females, babies and young ones also move, following food. This can become a long trek, too. Water is also a necessity for all elephants. When males in Musth happen to come across a herd and sniff and discover a female in eustrus (sp) will fight any other males in musth who have also found that herd. They fight for mating rights. The weaker one backs down and runs away. The winner will get a chance to mate with the female in eustrus (sp). The female has to think that male is strong enough, etc., to be the father of her calf. If not, no matter what he does, she will not mate with him. After the mating, or, not mating, scenario has ended, the male and the herd will part ways, to go off seperately.
He’s in musth. Those dark streams on the sides of his face, are scent. You’re lucky he was calm. They can often kill indiscriminately during mating season.
see oil type liquid coming near ears..seems the elephant needs a partner..dangerous period for humans to go near..tq god..hatsup to the people for the great video.
Ummm you're in the fucking wild and on their land. If you see a big elephant coming at you, instead of filming it, you get tf away from it. The human race is the problem on this Earth. Overpopulated and destroying this planet and the animals on it. People just love killing things for fun.
@@inconspicuousdaddy6307 Okay genius , did the elephant harm anyone.?? You don't know much either. It's called "musth" not "musk."
This should be used in a commercial! Maybe the elephant loves a "Ford Truck"!! lol Rumor has it, its "Ford Tough"! lol
Robin Hood haha. 😂
these guys didnt realize the elephant was in musth.. they are lucky it didn't charge at them...
3:12 "Excuse me...excuse me...oops so sorry...excuse me."
cipher88101 🤣🤣🧐🤣
The grace of this animal, around the car is astounding. Wonderful.
It’s amazing how they know and understand things.
When the women exclaimed with nervous excitement that it was a male @1:47 just as the second trunk majestically appeared, I literally peed myself laughing. Then, as if that wasn't funny enough, she preceded to ask her husband "why did that pop out?" Bwahaha.........without a response he turned to her, gave her a wry smile and then turned back towards the beast that was meandering through the courtyard with abandon.
Awesome footage guys, cheers and thanks for the laughs even though this video was recommended to me in 2021 it made my day👍
Incredible when he knocked those trees over, like they were mere twigs. When your wife said, “Why did THAT pop out?” and the look on your face was, “Duh, why do you think it did...” LMAO
Trees looked dead anyway. Just like my landscaper, he was just doing some spring cleanup.
They knew how to be quiet around the elephant. And to move slowly. Nice job.
Look at the size of that elephant relative to the truck
to be fair, the truck's tires weren't completely inflated
He is huge , African Elephants are bigger , imagine be in front of both
Humans use pillows. Elephants use trucks. 😊
There’s a new
LANDSCAPER in town. 😂
You guys were so lucky
He wants you to walk down the walkway and pet him. He gets extra food for putting a show on for all the new guests. He is waiting on the piano recital. But damn he is huge!
This guy was in musth so highly dangerous and unpredictable. When bull elephants have those dark strip behind the eyes, which are glandular secretions, people must stay away from them.
He was cool
Think he made his point as to who's in charge.
I had to laugh when he said "he's rampaging" 🤣🤣 he was just out for a dander! 🤣
Out for a walk tearing stuff apart. String dude he was. 💪
He just indicated to you not to get too cozy to him 😂
He didn’t even need to let us know. He was showing off. 😂🤣

He didn’t cause as much as a scratch on the car.Indeed a gentle giant.
He was very friendly towards the car.
Amazing footage!
He's just checkin you guys out!!!! Chillin!!
😁😁😁😁😁😁
He is telling everyone this is my land.
some lions at the river bank, there are not fens, I think the travelers feel interested

GORGEOUS boy. Demands the utmost respect.
🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Someone called for some tree trimming... this guy shows up.
Lol
😂😂😂
🤣🤣
Peter Smith He’s a jack of all trades 🧐😂😂😂
He’s a jack of all trades 🤣🤣🧐🤣
He’s in musth. Those dark streams on the sides of his face, are scent. You’re lucky he was calm. They can often kill indiscriminately during mating season.
He didn’t wanna kill anything. He wanted so good grub.
Elephant tears tree down....”Why did he do that?” Uh, because he can!
a very mellow, very tolerant giant.... you were lucky
👍🏻
see oil type liquid coming near ears..seems the elephant needs a
partner..dangerous period for humans to go near..tq god..hatsup to the people for the great video.
I saw another YT video, a bull elephant kept knocking over a water buffalo and then gored it with its tusks. Very deadly.
What a good boy he could've taken out the rails flipped the vechile with ease, he truly was a gentleman!" It's there land his trees
5:18 He broke a rail when he knocked down the tree.
No.
People who love wild animals in THEIR habitat understand that they are encroaching upon the animal's space and respect that fact. We didn't see any humans here risk their lives for the sake of filming this beautiful animal.
And im sure they are well aware of the risks of getting their vehicle damaged , and im positive NOBODY there was thinking .." I wish I could KILL this magnificent animal because it's walking too close." lol
You talk like someone who knows absolutely NOTHING about life ....but pretends to.👍👍
@@inconspicuousdaddy6307 .." I'm sorry but if that tree in the video fell on a person "........😂
I now realize I'm having a discussion with a 10 year old. ( at least I HOPE you're 10..😬 ) And if you're NOT a 10 year old child ... Yikes , then I'm afraid that makes you a Tier 1 Buffoon.
@@inconspicuousdaddy6307 LOL...!!!
I will say this , you have succeeded in making me laugh , so for that I say thank you Champ.
Gotta go for now , some of us adults actually work . I'm sure your parents will explain to you the importance of Employment when you're a little older.
That is if you can find a job that allows you to wear ur hockey helmet. ??
Either way , it's been fun kid cheers 🍻.
Looks like it was in musth
😲👊❤️OMFG ITS LIKE HEAVEN ON EARTH!!!!🤯❤️🤯❤️😲❤️😁❤️🤯😁❤️LOOK AT THAT!!!!!!😲
What a magnificent animal! Gentle giant. Made that truck look like a toy hot wheel.
Dinosaurs still exist
This elephant is so big ❤😃🤗
And that's how the truck lost its virginity.
