Hey friends, welcome back to another video here on Dame Untamed. This week's video is all about things to do in Tofino BC, and the surrounding area. Ever wonder what to do on Vancouver Island in the winter? Wonder no more. We drove up to Tofino & Ucluelet British Columbia for a quite weekend getaway in early January 2022 and had a great time! If you haven't seen part one of this series, click the link below to get yourself up to speed:
Part One: • Things to do in Tofino...
The weather was gorgeous and there was LOTS to do without the heavy tourist traffic. If you haven't already, you should definitely consider visiting this beautiful area of the west coast in the winter time. After ending our first day with the most glorious sunset at Amphitrite Lighthouse Park, we headed over to Howler's Family Restaurant for some much needed fuel. A fun atmosphere, yummy food and lots to do! After dinner, we were pretty tired from a long day, so we headed back to our motel in Ucluelet to get a good nights rest. I recommend WestCoast Motel for anyone looking for simple, budget friendly accommodations. The next morning, we were up early and ready for another day of adventure. But first, breakfast! We stopped in at Barkley Cafe for so yummy food, and off we went. First stop of the day was Tonquin Beach to play around in the tide pools and check out all of the cool little critters. We found sea stars, mussels, anemones, barnacles, hermit crabs and lots more. A really cool little ecosystem to explore. The last and very exciting stop on our trip was the Canso Plane Crash Hike. Definitely lives up to the hype... I highly recommend checking it out! For a more in depth look at this crash site and it's history, click the link below:

I am SO surprised you didn’t go over to the little island rock!! It’s cool they paved a path, but I much prefer the original trail! Also, love the touch of filming the same walking spot to and from the hike 😍 great video as always!!
Lmao... didn't want my feet to get soaked :( No extra shoes in the car and we had a whole hike to do after! So I flew the drone instead ;)
Thanks. That was really cool 😎
You are very welcome. Glad it was enjoyable and hope you learned something 😍
Winter is my fave time of year here
Honestly I loved it. I'd go back at this time of year in a HEARTBEAT!
@@DameUntamed Why? Where do you live?
Drone shots turned out really cool!
Kinda cool with the fog, eh!
Incredibly filmed!
Thank you so much! I appreciate the good feedback ☺
Very nice 👍!
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome video
Thanks for watching!
@@DameUntamed my pleasure
Nice videos! Next time you’re up try to stay at Bella Pacifica campground. There are a few walk in sites right next to the beach, one of which is nestled under a massive horizontal tree. For the day, take a little boat taxi from Tofino and check out Mears Island. The hike there quite literally made me think of what Jurassic Park would have been like…allllll fabulous and pristine old growth 😁
Thanks for watching and for the suggestions! Will add Bella Pacifica to the list 😊. I took the boat over to Mears about 5 years ago and explored.... truly stunning 😍
You can't spell Meares
Are the towns pretty?
They're so pretty! If you check out my "Part One" you'll see more of the towns. A beautiful area of Vancouver Island :)

😌
Sure there is no winter in Tofino, sure. But there is only one problem: no services! No Mazda dealer if I need car repairs, not a ton of grocery stores either....so I'll pass unfortunately.
Yeah, it's definitely not the greatest place to stay full time during that season... but for those visiting on vacation there is still lots to do! A great place to explore when it's less touristy.
Good ridance
4:41 So ungraceful hahaha
😂
Why are you touching starfish!
While of course I don’t condone disturbing wildlife, sea stars are generally quite resilient. I was once an aquarist and have experience handling these animals. They are often used in touch tanks at educational facilities to help teach the public. With clean hands, touching a sea star are holding it out of water for a short time will not harm the animal, as long as it is placed back in its environment quickly and gently. Though it’s very important to be educated on how to do so safely. Thanks for raising awareness and reminding me to always post a disclaimer about these sort of interactions 😌.
