You are right that the lyrics is a kind of fairytale. It is based on a medieval ballad about a girl's fight for freedom. She is bewitched by her evil stepmother, and is turned into a wolf who must live alone in the forest. The curse can only be broken if the girl/wolf drinks her brother's blood. One day the stepmother is alone in the forest, the wolf attacks her, tears out her heart and eats it. The stepmother is pregnant with a son, and without realizing it, the girl drinks her brother's blood, and the curse is broken.
Thats an amazing info. Thank you so much 😊❤️
Her sound so magical 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
Exactly 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks from Norway🇧🇻 We're really proud of our entry this year!
You are welcome 😊 Very beautiful song 🙌🇸🇯
Nice reaction😊
I love this song and performance, and I’m so glad we’re sending Gåte (gaw-teh) with this original song to Eurovision🤘
The genre is Norwegian folk music mixed with rock/metal
About the song:
The intro is an old “kulokk”.
A “kulokk” is how the women called/calls the cows home to be milked in the summer (often in the mountains)
So the chorus is inspired by this “kulokk”
The song itself is inspired by a norwegian medieval folklore/ballade.
Ulveham means wolfskin
English lyrics:
[Sample: Vocalization; Marit Jensen Lillebuen]
[Verse 1]
“I was such a beautiful maiden
My stepmother evil, my mother she died
She turned me into a sword and a needle
And sent me to the king's estate
And the anger my stepmother felt the most
That all the stately liked me best
[Chorus: Vocalization]
[Verse 2]
Then she gave me skin like a grey wolf
She cursed me to walk the forest alone
And never will I bе whole and good
Before I drink my brothеrs' blood
[Chorus: Vocalization]
[Outro: Vocalization, Storm]
I thеn tore out her heart
So her blood flowed free
Then I got to drink my brothers' blood”

Norway is really great 🇸🇯🙌
Gåte nails their performance with several checks on what a Eurovision song should be, as it was decades ago.
- Performing in their native language
- Stage performance reflecting a mix of mysticism and fantasy that highlights the lyrics of the song
- traditional instrument from their nation.
In my opinion the only thing Alexander Rybak did better with Fairytail in his day was the energetic and fun act on stage. Which obv wouldn't work for Gåte's songchoice. But I'd also deduct him for singing in english, so.. there's that :p
Thanks for your beautiful comment 😊🙌
@SemihKopuz Tusen takk skal du ha ❤🥰
Çok teşekkür ederim ❤ Türkiye'yi seviyorum 🥰
You are welcome. I love Norway too ❤️🇸🇯😊🙌
Thank you

Cok teSekkur ederim from Norway. Sorry dont have the right keys on my keyboard. I am learning turkish but this was the best I could do now. We are very proud of our Gåte. All reactions I have seen both here on tik tok wherever Gåte is taking their breath away. It is completely over the top everything. It knocks you off completely. it have the rytmn that make people dance and move. Everyone can sing the chorus. Whatever language. So from what I have seen online we do have a very good chance this year. :) Thank you for your lovely words. Please do look up Gåte . You would love more of them. :)
Værsågod 😊🇸🇯❤️🙌
Amazing song. My favourite song. I wish the best for Norway this year. Very cultural, very unique all parts of the song looking so beautiful 😍

Norway 🇸🇯📀🎤 in TOP
Really favourite on EUROVISION 2024
12 point from Ukraine 🇺🇦
They are really great ❤️😊🙌🇺🇦🇸🇯
Norway is the Ukranian battlesong of the year! The singer has said her self that her call/scream is a cry for freedom! Also the Norwegian lyrics are about a maiden (I choose to see it as a representation of Majdan square in Kyiv) who is cursed (invaded) by her evil stepmother (let's call her Russia) and the only way to break free is to spill her brothers blood....and as Ukrainians and Russians used to see each other kinda like halfbrothers at some point I see it as a battle to overcome against the Russian somdiers to become free again! Hopefully Ukraine supports Norway in Eurovision this year!
Oh and I forgot to say..."Ulveham" is literally the progressive rock version of Go_A's "Shum". Love it!
@@ZironixNO really interesting point. Thanks for your review 😊🙌
It's not a 6 on the dice for me. It's more like full Jatzy ❤
Very great song 😊🙌
Gåte has plenty of videoes on UA-cam with many good songs.
I will react all of them 😊💙🙌
@@SemihKopuz Probably too many to react to them all. Unless you have plenty of hours to spend. :)

Benim bu sene favori ülkem Hırvatistan ve Gürcistan
Gürcistan için de video gelecek 🙌🙌🙌😎❤️
Folk music are not all THAT different. But I love the small things that identify it. ua-cam.com/video/PkqfKt5m4c0/v-deo.html Is not that different in singing. On stage? well it is a differnt story. But Old Norse style is eerily like Arabic/Helleni/Sami And VERY much like what you find in all of eastern europe. But not in England/france/Germany. I have no idea why.. Maybe because some countries/cultures have a sort if Identity then even wars can not kill.. ua-cam.com/video/BVtIl3dqDbM/v-deo.html is jewish.. but use a fiddle.. I know that norway did not invent electric guitar. Ohh and I write to much, and love turkish food. And if you happen to be Muslim have a nice Rhamadan.. I know one thing.. I will get the best food in the world, becuse I have nice muslim friends :)
Our greatest leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk says peace at home, peace in the world. Thanks for your comment and ramadan wishes my friend 😊
@@SemihKopuz I normally do not elaborate this much. Fred være med dere. And Ve iyi adama olan inanç. And Music.
Another song with Gåte: "Svarteboka"

very irritating😢😮
Her voice so strong 🔥
It's irritating when you let language hinder you. This is about a girl being turned into a wolf by her stepmother. Now think of a wolf howling, there is a connection there. Hope that helps.
