My wife and I are in our 50’s and did exactly what you both did… bought over 100 acres of land to build a family compound with a lake. This is a whole testimony. I just made my husband watch this with me. Believing for this for my family one day. A lake, homestead, a view and family. Truly stunning. Did you guys have to put money down for the house?
We did! We put about 27K down. We had been saving our money for a while. We had a list of things we would have liked in a house, but we put no pressure on finding the right house and didn’t set any sort of timelines. The Lord literally led us here and that made it that much more special. Looking back we realized how important it was just to be in position. There’s so much value learned in that waiting period and it truly took the stress off when we learned just to enjoy where we were, while preparing to be the people he wanted us to be in order to have this!
Was this house about $550K?

This video brought tears in my eyes I honestly believe God allowed me to see this at the perfect timing. Me and my husband are 24 and 26 living with his parents in California because the price of houses and are so high and we don’t feel peace about landing here for life.
We have dreams of one day owning land and homesteading and doing what y’all are doing. It feels so impossible right now but I am believing that God will give us the desire of our hearts. Thank you so much for these videos and sharing your story! 💛
We had the same experience with God opening doors to purchase our house in 2022. No one else bid. We accepted counter offer. Was in our price range. Our kids didnt have to change schools. We have fruit trees and didn't know it until we saw the fruit

That’s beautiful. I am in knowledgeable about the SDA lifestyle but I did attend Oakwood University. I remember the office hours being short on Friday’s so they could observe the Sabbath. I loved seeing that priority set in place.

I just discovered your channel yesterday! You two are adorable! This is the best decision you could ever make as a young couple. God guided my husband out of the city into the country almost 14 yrs ago with our small children. Best decision ever. We've been gardening since we've been here, and now we have 2 high tunnels from a NRSC grant (check them out in a year or two when your garden is established). We also sell at farmers markets. Best wishes to you both as you build up your homestead! May God continue to richly bless you!

I love your journey to the property. THAT is the dream that I have talked to my siblings about for more than 15 years. They were not on board. Years go by, and I mention this dream to my three children. They like the idea but have their own dreams as well.
Long story short, I have been in my home for 28 years, making the best of it with my home childcare business and STILL dream of owning land in a zone 6/7 area so I can just live, garden and be at peace... like the feeling you said you all had upon arriving at your home. (IA zone 5 gets rough some Winters)
BTW, when I heard that you closed on my birthday, I knew I needed to follow your journey.

Very cool story! We found our property on water with land 30 years ago and we're still here. The way it came together was definitely the hand of God at work in our lives. No doubt about it! I still think about how so many things came together which seemed so impossible at the time.
