One song that just came out that has a rap/hip hop vibe you should check out is ice on my teeth by ateez. Their music videos will always surprise tf outta you too!

Twice is very different, just so u know. Very unique. Not many can be successful and pull off a genre and concept that isn't the most favored. Some groups start off that way but dont last, they have to change it up or something but twice conquered with their bubblegum pop. For YEARS, a decade. There's something to them that pulls people to them (speaking from personal experience too). They have 10+ yrs of discography and are like korean national treasures at this point and reign Japan. People reaaaaallly want more from this side, im excited for 2025 plans. They have potential to do so much more and can expand their name with their creativity and versatility. Youll hear a lot of things from them but they're so iconic in kpop. They do their own thing and they're unapologetic about who they are. Super real about it all, they know people either really love them or really hate them. I hope they capture more audiences and explore their versatility. A dream of mine was for them to collab with a rapper and for it to be kendrick cause he got that random creativity poppin but i didnt expect meg to do it. I knew they were gonna collab with a polar opposite of them but i didnt know they were gonna be so compatible. Im still so shocked. I know this is a turning point.

The negative connotation that comes with K-Pop is the word “Pop” but “K-Pop” in general is not a genre but more of an industry and there are a wide range of artists that anyone can vibe with. A lot of western artists and rappers have collabed with K-Pop artists recently. Meg The Stallion, Charlie Puth, French Montana, Wale, Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Madison Beer, Usher and so many others have created some bangers with K-Pop artists. K-pop is known from being super inspired by other genres (especially genres that are predominantly black like hiphop and R&B! They love to take inspiration from black artists, for example Le Sserafim’s Smart came out shortly after Water by Tyla became popular. People were claiming they sound similar but they don’t 😭 if anything, the song sounds a lot like Woman by Doja Cat! Most songs classified under K-pop are really k-R&B and k-hiphop 😭 If you liked this, I’d definitely suggest checking out Moonlight Sunrise and The Feels both by TWICE, along with groups like XG (not a K-pop group but a global group with all Japanese members; all their music is English), Blackpink (they’ve performed at Coachella twice, and they are one of the biggest K-pop groups globally whereas I would say Twice is the biggest in Korea. Though, twice is starting to find more of a global footing in doing their collabs with Megan and more American performances. If you haven’t seen the Blackpink girls together, it’s very likely you’ve seen at least one of them on their own. They have a very strong solo presence outside their group), BABYMONSTER (Blackpink’s juniors! They’re known for their live vocals and excellent rap line. They recently released their first full album! Their music isn’t for everyone but I personally love it and they are extremely talented), and Kiss of Life (up and coming rookies! I’m positive they’re gonna be as big as blackpink and bts one day! Their song sticky was very viral this summer)!
Twice is always a good choice to start with kpop! For me personally, it's my favorite girl group. They are really unique! You need to know that k-pop is a industrie, not a genre. You will find groups with very different styles. Twice' older songs are more cute for example. Now it's more mature. Their music was growing up with them (they are active since 2015) If you are more into hip-hop, I highly recommend Stray Kids for you. Their songs are bangers and they have a really good rap-line! I think you would like them a lot. I think Ateez would be a great choice for you too! Both, Stray Kids and Ateez are Boy Groups btw. Blackpink (a Girl Group) could also be something for you. kpop is an industry not a genre, so there’s definitely something for everyone, from hiphop, pop rock/punk, bubblegum pop, edm, house, jersey club, even afro beats and many more. i don’t listen to any boy groups so i can’t recommend you anything there, but i think generally it’s widely agreed upon that girl group and female soloists have better music if you like hiphop id recommend young posse - xxl (g)i-dle - uh oh (g)i-dle - my bag new jeans - supernatural but keep in mind that they won’t be anything close to authentic hiphop, they are south korean

TWICE mainly focuses on bubblegum pop, but that doesn’t mean their music is just for kids. I’ve been a fan for 8 years, and most people I’ve seen drawn to their music are adults. Their songs are playful and full of energy and it has been played at special events like weddings and debut celebrations.

The irony of a disney princess profile infantilizing Twice, that too in a misleading way considering they haven't put out anything bubblegum pop since 2019. It was only in the first two years of their career where their chart-topping songs could be described as bubbglegum, appropriate for their young age. Everything they did after was a mix of mature and feminine. They are one of the few kpop groups that are dedicated to releasing actual music, unlike these "hardcore" groups that keep validating the stereotype that kpop only offers loud and unmelodious noise music.

This song in particular has funky hip hop Pharrell vibe, TWICE is a girl group with 9 members (all grown women) who all dance and sing, some of them do a little talk/rap parts but nothing too crazy just to give a song dynamic, they’ve been active for almost ten years now, five of the members are Korean, three are Japanese and one is Taiwanese, they also have group roles like main vocalists , lead vocalist, sub vocalists and main dancers, they usually do more dance pop tracks.

I'm Black and been listening to kpop since 2011/2012 & there's definitely more of us, you just gotta leave your comfort zone a bit. Twice is a very popular group since like 2015, so those views aren't surprising at all. Kpop as a whole has so many genres, that you can literally take your pick & find an artist/song that suits your taste. Megan is such a huge fan of so many things, I'm glad people who listen to her are able to be introduced to artists they wouldn't have found otherwise. Also, Twice was on the Mamushi remix.
The negative connotation that comes with K-Pop is the word “Pop” but “K-Pop” in general is not a genre but more of an industry and there are a wide range of artists that anyone can vibe with. A lot of western artists and rappers have collabed with K-Pop artists recently. Meg The Stallion, Charlie Puth, French Montana, Wale, Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Madison Beer, Usher and so many others have created some bangers with K-Pop artists. Whether it be in reactions or your own time, I suggest a quick deep dive cuz you’ll find a lot of gems there.

K-pop is known from being super inspired by other genres (especially genres that are predominantly black like hiphop and R&B! They love to take inspiration from black artists, for example Le Sserafim’s Smart came out shortly after Water by Tyla became popular. People were claiming they sound similar but they don’t 😭 if anything, the song sounds a lot like Woman by Doja Cat! Most songs classified under K-pop are really k-R&B and k-hiphop 😭 If you liked this, I’d definitely suggest checking out Moonlight Sunrise and The Feels both by TWICE, along with groups like XG (not a K-pop group but a global group with all Japanese members; all their music is English), Blackpink (they’ve performed at Coachella twice, and they are one of the biggest K-pop groups globally whereas I would say Twice is the biggest in Korea. Though, twice is starting to find more of a global footing in doing their collabs with Megan and more American performances. If you haven’t seen the Blackpink girls together, it’s very likely you’ve seen at least one of them on their own. They have a very strong solo presence outside their group), BABYMONSTER (Blackpink’s juniors! They’re known for their live vocals and excellent rap line. They recently released their first full album! Their music isn’t for everyone but I personally love it and they are extremely talented), and Kiss of Life (up and coming rookies! I’m positive they’re gonna be as big as blackpink and bts one day! Their song sticky was very viral this summer)!

Twice is always a good choice to start with kpop! For me personally, it's my favorite girl group. They are really unique!
You need to know that k-pop is a industrie, not a genre. You will find groups with very different styles. Twice' older songs are more cute for example. Now it's more mature. Their music was growing up with them (they are active since 2015)
If you are more into hip-hop, I highly recommend Stray Kids for you. Their songs are bangers and they have a really good rap-line! I think you would like them a lot.

kpop is an industry not a genre, so there’s definitely something for everyone, from hiphop, pop rock/punk, bubblegum pop, edm, house, jersey club, even afro beats and many more.
i don’t listen to any boy groups so i can’t recommend you anything there, but i think generally it’s widely agreed upon that girl group and female soloists have better music

Their songs are playful and full of energy and it has been played at special events like weddings and debut celebrations.

The irony of a disney princess profile infantilizing Twice, that too in a misleading way considering they haven't put out anything bubblegum pop since 2019. It was only in the first two years of their career where their chart-topping songs could be described as bubbglegum, appropriate for their young age. Everything they did after was a mix of mature and feminine. They are one of the few kpop groups that are dedicated to releasing actual music, unlike these "hardcore" groups that keep validating the stereotype that kpop only offers loud and unmelodious noise music.
