Fun Fact: Frank Capra had hired a marksman to shoot out the window when Mary threw the rock. They ended up not needing the guy; Donna Reed was a ballplayer in high school and hit the window on her own.
When he asks what she wished for, and she glances at him then goes right back to singing and walking, the audience knows EXACTLY what she wished for thanks to Donna Reed’s magnificent performance and the excellent timing of the whole scene.
5:35 Always liked the change of tone and the music especially when George leaves and we see that last shot of Mary with the wonderful somber score by Tiomkin. Such a sad moment.
I wonder if Harry and Uncle Billy were a little confused when they pulled up and they saw George by himself holding a woman's robe and talking to a bush.
So I work at a school and I love my job mostly. But I’m also mentally ill. So the other day I’m deep into a depressive episode and I’m already trying to fight back tears but I get to work and as I walk down the corridor and in the music room the kids are singing this song. And it brings tears to my eyes, but it also cheers me up somehow because it immediately reminds me of this beautiful movie and it makes me think “I wanna live! Dear God I wanna live!” Anyways, I felt better afterwards. Needless to say, I adore this movie. James Stewart’s performance was one for the ages.
Thanks for posting. So many good scenes. I guess we can thank the person who didn't renew the copyright for many wonderful Christmas' watching It's A Wonderful Life.

Thank you MCMuzzy. I love the way the old guy says his line, paraphrased and stolen from a George Bernard Shaw quote! A great scene. But one of the most romantic cinema kissing scenes is found in the "telephone scene"..where they share the phone together, listening to Sam "Hee-Haw". Found one, but it was edited. boo hoo. Do you have an unedited version? Thanks for letting me 'drop in' and enjoy!

@@WedgePee Here we have the wild Conservative, always talking about which film or series a supposed Liberal will cancel this or that time. The Conservative is always wrong about it, and for the wrong reasons, but they'll never acknowledge it.

Fun fact, they had someone inside to break the glass.
And that was not Donna Reed in the hydrangea bush.

Was it George?
"I'll show you some kissing that'll put hair back on your head!"
One of the most hilarious lines in movie history!
I love the scene when the floor opens up while they are dancing. They all fell in the swimming poll below. Great movie.
Donna Reed was pure beauty
Mary and George in the white hydrangea bushes keeps Donna Reed and James Steward forever young in a great movie.
When my high school did a play of this movie back in my junior year, it took me forever to get the song out of my head!
"Maybe I could sell tickets." LOL
This is a very interesting situation! 😳
“The police would be on my side too!”
The most Hilarious scene in the movie. Crazy how they changed the whole tone of the film with the next one.
Tough to multitask between humor and drama in mainstream filmmaking these days

Lol. I never thought of that… And why couldn’t Mary get in the car also.
Nah. They knew EXACTLY what was going on lol
I've never seen something so beautiful
My favourite Christmas movie 🥰
Just like life. When everything is going great and you think you're king of the world, something bad happens.
You can freaking say that again. Except it's been 16 years of hell now.
I love the sour old neighbor guy.
Yeah, he could pass as Mr. Potter's brother.

From romance, to hilarity, to tragedy in five minutes and 41 seconds. This generation sure knew how to make a film!
I’m 31 and yet I remember being a teen discovering Hollywoods Golden Age. I couldn’t agree

I want someone to give the moon to 💘
My favorite scene too.
The don't make movies like they used to.

Always enjoy watching this movie....😇
5:24 reminds me the same thing that happened to my grandfather back in October (21) 2019!
So romantic and lovely. Makes me giggle❤
That song's stuck in my head now!
Great post! Shalom Y'all! from Kentucky.
My mother's way up in the corner there... 😂
I’ll tell your mother on you!!
I’m from girl from Buffalo so I really like this song ❤🎶
I think we've ALL become the dude on the porch -- regardless of gender lol.
The BEST movie ever!

I'm calling it. They're gonna cancel It's A Wonderful Life because of this scene someday.
Liberals have gone way too far. They’ll probably want everything made before 2010 to be cancelled.
Well there’s no reason to be offended. It was obvious he wasn’t going to peak, he was only teasing.

Lmao looks like the bush is eating Mary
...waidaminute.... O_O
:D
💗💗💗
0:21 It’s not just the same without the retro MGM roar.
1:20. "You may kiss my hand"
What deal was George going to offer Mary for that robe? We never get an answer and I'm curious what others guesses.
Stop singing weaver.
kind of a scene before #metoo..."they'd be on my side"..the cops? what the heck
It’s a movie. Get over it. Happy holidays
The audio is slightly out of sync.
This must have been before he became the mayor of Mayberry.
4:24 Can someone explain to me why George is being so mean spriited here?
...so Mary wished for his father to have a heart attack so he wouldn't leave...clever girl
Who were those 2 men in the car?
This must be before he was elected mayor of Mayberry.
