Dude. You’re really good at this. You have so many of these where you talk about something from a perspective I’ve never seen before. Not blowing smoke. For me, this is where the understanding happens, when I can see things in several different ways, eventually my brain fits the puzzle together and associates it with my own experience. Never heard someone suggest focusing on the shoulder in relation to the ball, but it kind of locks in the feel of where to be when I’m tilting. Here’s the position. Here’s a repeatable way to get to it and feel it. Here’s how you give your brain the feel of moving into it. Killin it and lookin good doin it. And the wrist set explanation? Boom. I’m always unsure about what movements to use there. You explained it so easily.
Dude!!!! Thank you!!! Gotta try and keep the message consistent but give people different ways to visualize, process and feel the movements. Glad this one clicked for you like it did and keep crushing the moves! Great things coming for you in 2025 and beyond.
Chris, I have been bouncing around YT searching for someone who can clearly make a point, without beating it to death. YOU are the guy !! Proud to have joined the channel.
So happy to have you as part of the family. Stay tuned. We’re going to get things organized and release exclusive content on the sooner side. Please let me know if you have any questions or need any help along the way. Always happy to help:) cheers to a bright future.
@@MyGolfDNA Chris, I thought I might ask, and pretty sure how'll you answer. An instructor at my club is trying to get me to focus on a spot about 2" in front of the ball. If you make the correct move, you can focus on the back/front of the ball, and the swing will bottom out in front of the ball. Your thoughts ???
@@williamludwig9460 Sounds like a common drill to get you to focus on releasing the club later. Not my favorite thing to do BUT I have seen it work for some players. I like to get a student to focus on what is determining the low point in the swing arc and then get them to focus on the correct sequence/firing order to fix the root of the problem, more than drills that can get stale and wear off quickly. Hope that makes sense.
'Keeping the trail wrist in extention', now my most common error. I am 71, playing off 6.3, best handicap was 2, but the body is weary and getting a bit tired. This is a great refresher course and well explained and demonstrated, so I am off to the range tomorrow and I will follow exactly what you have shown and hopefully improve the strike. (Subscribed)
‘My hips bring my shoulders around!’ The ‘ah ha!’ moment! I know that sounds so simple but I’ve always started my take away and follow through with my right shoulder. Thank you!
It’s not simple at all. Especially when moving at high rate of speed. The smaller muscles in the arms and shoulders always want to take over and do more than they should, which generally shuts the entire body system down. Go with what works for you and your DNA. Just make sure you’re producing adequate speed and control and keeping your body safe while doing so. Good luck out there and hit em straight.
I’ve been working on exactly this recently, trying to stop my right shoulder coming round rather than under and through. Thank you for these excellent drills.
I've been working on more of a body swing where the right shoulder moves down and towards the target and realesing it to simpler positions as you massive improvement ,but the biggest thing was takeing the right thumb of the club at impact, boy do you realese the club with power ,and shots dead straight
Thank you. We have a 4 step driver video on the channel that was released in the last couple of months. I will make sure we do an updated one on the sooner side. Thank you for watching and hope you join me for more in the future.
I absolutely enjoy your lessons and how you explain movement. But for us lefties, if you could consistently refer to the lead arm. And trail arm, that would be appreciated. I know it's familiar to say left and right But every time I hear you, you use those terms I have to. Flip them, obviously I'm a left hander. Thank you for considering it
You know…I recently made the change back to say right and left because of couple of unpleasant comments. And the reality is that I should’ve never listened to they. You’re 100% right, I should be using lead side and trail side as it’s filtered over to a lot of the instruction I have been doing for students. I don’t like creating confusion! Thank you for the much needed feedback on this one and I’ll be back to trail side vs. lead side moving forward. Also, glad you enjoying the lessons on your side. Please come back and join me for more.
Hi Chris, Does maintaining the right wrist through impact also work for the driver? (Although, I'm aware that the setting-up for the driver is different)
It's the one club we don't need negative angle of attack and generally, we will producing more secondary spine tilt, which will make it harder to keep the wrist in place at speed. I would start out small and slow and just to feel it with the driver and then as you start getting proficient, start picking up the pace and reducing the tension in the movement and hit some shots to see what you're producing. Report back from there and I'll help you.
You can do it! Take your time and work through the steps slowly and don’t move onto the next one until you become proficient. If you get stuck, let me know and I’ll gladly assist you.
No, not at all. Both arms will need to work independently through the release which is being driven by your ability to move the shoulders as I outline here. You'll want your lead wrist to be the one managing the clubface though:)
Keeping the wrist set. I feel like I have no power. What could be the reason for this. I feel like have to release my wrist to get the hammer like hit and get distance
I never want students to keep the wrist set and especially at speed. I talk incessantly on the channel about how important it is to let the club release.
Well done through the stages but, on the takeaway, LHS HIP SWAYS off the impact wall, which requires repositioning later at transition and downswing. Not recommended in RSS which I try to follow. You eat well, yes?
Horizontal movement of the pelvis is a real thing that I've covered a number of times on this channel. You can use more of a center pivot "stay on the impact wall" if you desire. If you want to swing the club with less lateral force, have at it. Thanks for liking your own comment as well as your left handed comment about my physique. I wish you the best with your game and hope you have a great weekend.
Thanks for the feedback. Bummed to hear this didn’t fit in with your style. Let me know if you have any questions or need any help with your game and I’ll gladly assist you.

Welcome to the channel! Happy to have you. Let me know if you have any questions along the way.
Hey Chris, awesome instructional video. The reaching of the club with the right hand coming from underneath is a great feel.
Thank you!!! Glad this helped you feel a difficult move that so many people struggle with.

Hey Chris, I’M a little confusesd.. is this a bodyswing of an armswing / bodyrelease of armrelease?
This is an arm independent release. The body is following the release of the arms in the hitting area.
loved the presentation..I fear impossible to translate to actual body mechanics for this high handicapper!!

Good, step by step. Thanks for the video.
Always my pleasure. Thanks for watching:)
This was key for me to hit longer drives. I wasn’t releasing well enough. Thank you!
I got one coming later in the week that will help you ramp it up even more so. Stay tuned and glad you were able to find something that worked.
