Before you comment "Ackshually it's called Lower Norfair", please remember that Nintendo has been officially referring to this song as Magmoor Caverns for years
I know someone's doing a 3D mod/remake of Super Metroid, but the name escapes me at the moment. That's what the model reminds me of, even though I know it's from Smash.
Yeah it does. Only time it flops imo is in prime where magmoor's theme just is a straight up remix, it makes it feel more generic than if it had its own music, even if it has a similar vibe like in dread.
its kinda sad that the hot area it's always hyped with that theme, i liked when was more mysterious/calmer, this shows a area that is way more dangerous than the upper one
It really does tho. I'm actually surprised I still feel this way everytime I play Super Metroid, considering of how any game after it just used Lower Norfair as "hot place theme".
That uncanny af PS1-esque model of Samus going ham to "Hot Fire Place" music at a smooth frame rate is something I didn't know I needed in my life. This is officially my favorite video of 2021.
Every time I hear this song I envision an underground Zebesian military parade in lower Norfair, with the main rhythm being footsteps and the drawn out horns at the beginning as actual instruments some pirate plays. Just too awesome
Honestly my biggest beef with dread, severe lack of tunes, it had that awesome dark theme that would play when samus got pissed but it was never very long
Makes me wish there was a Metroid with higher quality 2D sprite work but 3D environments/elements. If Symphony of the Night could come out in that same generation, N64 could have had a pretty kickass Metroid title.
I'm no Metroid fan, but when I was recommended this, I had a gut feeling it was gonna be this song. I love when I'm right regarding things I know little about.
Took a Second to notice she was dancing to the Percussion for most of the start before transitioning into rockin with the Chorus But I Love that about Music and Dance in Tandem you can tell by the Flow what part of the Track someone is Moving too x3
The animation where she does the forward kicks speaks to me for some reason. Like, seriously. Whenever I hear this song, I think of that one in particular.
I'm weird. I remember the first time I heard this song years and years ago. My first thought on hearing it was 'yahknow, if I were an evil overlord, this would totally be the music I'd be blastin while rollin' up on some city I was about to conquer.'
after seeing chuggaaconroys super metroid playthrough i cant unhear "i was wat-ching te-le-vi-sion, i was wat-ching te-le-vi-sion" to the tune of the song
As a Metroid veteran (15 years), I can say that this is very accurate (thank you for putting all the magmoor caverns themes I love all of them and make the hot Zones in Metroid feel more deadly)
@@milddiffuse and the reason why it called "Norfair Ancient Ruins" it's because canonically Ridley hasn't used that part of Norfair (formally Ridley or Ridley's Lair in Metroid 1 and Zero Mission) since Metroid 1 and Zero Mission and those games took place at the beginning of the timeline which is before the Phazon Crisis to which Zebes has been Desolate for a few years in the Metroid Universe. Now, Norfair Ancient Ruins must have been a temple of sorts for worship similar to how that Tourian was used for planet wide counsel meetings (as seen in the manga) and just the temple in Norfair's depths hasn't been used in a very long time probably for hundreds maybe even thousands of years
Before you comment "Ackshually it's called Lower Norfair", please remember that Nintendo has been officially referring to this song as Magmoor Caverns for years
Thanks for adding this to my KB.
Ever since Prime came out, it’s been Magmoor Caverns, and that’s understandable, as Prime’s version of this song is the best in the series.
whoa i didn't know that, thanks for the info
Should have used magmoor footage instead of lower norfair to remove the confusion.
@@ImJCyo Don't overthink it, just groove
Seeing that awesome N64 Samus model makes me wish we had a Metroid 64.
Imagine Prime but N64, that'd be funny

metroid really has that "aw yeah it's the lava/hot zone, time for some sick jams" bit down really well
Ironically in Dread it’s the water area that has the best ambient jamz
Yeah it does. Only time it flops imo is in prime where magmoor's theme just is a straight up remix, it makes it feel more generic than if it had its own music, even if it has a similar vibe like in dread.
Yep lol. Cataris continues this tradition nicely
Sixstringpsycho don’t rip on Cataris like that, it’s a jam as well
Like Mario does.
what is now just simply "the theme of a hot place" used to be so much more...
it used to be the theme of a REALLY hot place

2D fans: it's Lower Norfair
And the Lower Norfair version is better anyway
People who have only played Samus Returns: its the music from the hot rooms
I was gonna say I didn't know what magmoor caverns was.
I now know
How about Ridley's Lair
@@rootbeer_666 It depends on each one, personally the prime one seems much better to me.
I like to think this is the kinda stuff Samus does when she completes a mission.
In my head canon she has solo dance parties in her ship.
Nobody gonna mind the fact that the background is "reverse boss run"
Reverse Boss Order to be precise ;)
Who says it has to be Samus doing RBO? Maybe she just wants Screw Attack?
Prime was my first ever Metroid game, and so when I played through Super and reached Lower Norfair, my brain did a fucking cartwheel
Same!
This is a more highly anticipated sequel than Metroid 5 and Prime 4 combined. I love these animations
The rag-doll at the end was perfect. This is the best one yet
Metroid dread was great though
Man hearing this really encapsulated the feeling of “I’m coming for you Ridley! You have nowhere left to hide!”

Can we all appreciate how perfectly synced the dance moves are?
The Chozo blood that Samus was infused with not only gave her heightened reflexes, speed and agility, it also gave her perfect rhythm.

It's a slightly modified version of Samus' N64 model for the original Smash Bros.
*Hardcore and Average Gamers -* What the hell makes you say Super Metroid is the greatest game ever made?
*Me -* THIS FKN SONG!
I just want to send appreciation for the fact that you actually put the effort in to sync the animations to the tempo

Every metroid fan when prime remastered is announced:

It looks like Samus overdid the dancing. Damn is she exhausted.
Nap time.
I really like dread but it did not have any sick jams to bop my head or hum along.
Yeah that was a let down for sure. I can only remember the songs that originated from previous games.
Hey the final boss theme was a banger
Dread has some catch tunes though.
hey , there was a few one that were also good in Dread

That’s gonna be the entire fanbase when Prime 4 comes out.
I love Jammin' N64 Samus so much please never stop making these!!! 😁
The person who made the song. “So what did you think?”
Person in charge “It’s going in the lava area because it is fire. Here is your raise”
This is what happens when all Metroid fans are excited for dread and it just finally came out and this is their reaction
This is a really hot beat
I’m really gonna miss those comments that are basically “The dislikes are from the Space Pirates”
