- Today I'm trying out a very impressive mod for Mario 64 that brings full level editing and sharing to the game along with support for the actual N64 hardware.

#Nintendo #Mario #N64 - Ігри
Honestly it reminds me of creating a skatepark in tiny hawk pro skater on the N64.
Bro officially forgot the password for Spawn Wave Plus
I was thinking the same thing…
It sucks since account verification requires a government ID and takes up to 2 weeks
🤣
tbh I prefer not having to jump between multiple channels anyways for a community
😂
Nintendo: That's impressive! Great work!
Also Nintendo: Can we sue them?
The Mario Maker 64 situation is insane
It’s a good idea
Ah man I was so stoked to see Undead Asylum in this video. It's a shame that it ran so terribly but I can't say I'm surprised.. I did definitely push it to it's limits there 😂
Thank you so much for checking it out!
It's a recreation of the opening area in Dark Souls 1
For clarification the patcher runs locally in your browser so you are not actually uploading coyrighted content to the website when you choose the rom file.
wont stop daddy nintendog from coming after you
Use a vpn
I recreated Bob-Omb Battlefield from memory and uploaded it online. It’s a great builder and you can do some absolutely amazing stuff with it!
I would love to see cursed bob-omb battle field
@@k.k9206 I have it on my YT channel and a download link if you want lol
Here before the Nintendo ninjas attack
imagine super mario galaxy or odyssey in a 3d Buider
Sunshine will be even more fascinating to have a Level Builder on.
@@generalcjgThey should include the level designer from all the 3D Mario games so you can decide which level do you want to build. Kind of like in MM2.
This is pretty amazing. Thanks for sharing it with us!
0:50 Little correction here: The files are not uploaded using this Online Patcher you show on screen. Its a patcher program in the browser, but its all done locally. This is important to know.
thats awesome! i always wondered what a mario maker 64 would look like
2 uploads 😮😮 nice!
Holy crêpe, that's amazing
I didn't even know until I got like halfway through the game but apparently they added the rumble feature in when making the switch version because if you don't use a wireless gamecube controller that doesn't have rumble (I'm looking at you power A) then there is rumble.
Someone should make the game Only UP from this engine 🤘🏽
Such an awesome project
This is so cool! The N64 is absolutely trying to get it out and running as if it's constipated tho so it'd be awesome if the community could also port it to PC and improve upon it there
Was waiting for a mario maker 64!!
Looks awesome! I wish you showed it running in an emulator.
I wonder if this patch utilized the frame rate fix patch and if adding expansion pak support could help with the frame rate.
I had assumed it was taking advantage of the exhaustion pack? I was definitely disappointed by the lag.
I want that N64 controller from retro fighters
This is dope
It looks like the terrain system was rewritten to be more like minecraft which is why it's struggling to render all those blocks.
Its the DS version not the Nintendo64 version of the game.
@@loena446 No it's not...
I think there would be a large number of people who would love this to have Minecraft style control scheme.
Wasn't there going to be a Mario Maker 64 kinda thing with the 64DD that never came out?
Very cool.
While watching this video, I was trying think about how I would make SMB1 1-1 in 3-D perspective.
OMG awesome
That Asylum level was Dark Souls right?
Actually using an N64 is the sort of extra mile I subscribe to this channel for
I've been using it on an emulator and it's great. Nintendo says 3D Mario Maker would be too complicated. lol
Donkey Kong 64 Maker when?
Have u seen the new 3d platformer Bolt Bot Screwy Viruses? It looks a bit like a N64 platformer.
Would the RAM expansion help?
What in tarnation? You can actually download levels? Woooaaahhhhh! 😮
Undead Asylum is the opening level from Dark Souls 1.
I have been playing this game for days a lot of the levels run great and there's an optional mode that's not vanilla SM 64 that seems to have an increased frame rate. Plenty of levels run fast and both of these showcase levels use particle effects snow and lava just removing those would have helped.
Sum I never thought I’d see
Is the reason the frame rate dropped so low, is because these levels had to many different assets?
Hmm too bad this can't use the expansion pack that might help some with frame rates.
cool, but i'm sure nintendo would already got a idea of a "super mario 3d maker" - they probably brainstorming of how to put everything in it and etc.
watched Bob check this out
running a little slow on N64 but pretty cool 😎
I played this on my gamecube
The fps.. does the expansion pack do anything for this game?
Mario 64 is one of my favorite games. I'm definitely going to check this out. Especially b4 nintendo cracks their whip.
I was trying to play on retro arch on my series X in dev mode but the virtual sd card didn't excist so no adding/saving levels
gotta use parallel launcher for now, as far as I can tell
In hindsight, this is an incredible idea for a game but expect Nintendo themselves to shutting this down by sending a cease and desist letter.
Would be nice if some could provide ROM i have no clue on how to do this and merge the file would be good to have rom that's already ready to go for those people who are bit stuck.
Alright let's get this on the 3DS now
I'm having trouble getting the newest version working on an actual N64. I can get an older version working that is called "Mario Builder 64" but for whatever reason, the newer one with the different intro screen (I think it's 1.3?) doesn't work. Anyone have any luck?
Now we need a Zelda Maker!
I remember seeing that there was a bad line of code that caused the n64 to lag and that people fixed it on orginal hardware with fixing the code, Could you do this with the builder to get full FPS?
Nintendo's big mistake that made Super Mario 64 super slow by MattKC
I’d love to get an everdrive
cool!
nintendo loves this game
Fanbase "Son": Look dad, I made something fun out of what you made!
Nintendo "Dad": (Violently slaps it off the table) No son, you're only allowed to have fun with what I make.
They must have used the Mario 64 decompilation project to make this.
I don't see how they could have done a mod like this using traditional romhacking tools
I want Cory in Da House N64 Demake.
That's pretty cool man you can actually use this thing on real hardware
Did the creators optimize the game, as some homebrewers have done with the original?
So this is like Mario 64 Source essentially?
Is it possible to ger an Everdrive these days?.
I'd rather support a chinaman who knocked off the design than a ukrainian, they have more of my own money than I do at this point
hi Spawn Wave
Marlo Boulder 60-4
This will get traction and then Nintendo will slam it down
And make their own 4-6 years later.
They can't "slam it down", it's 100% legal.
It's a rom hack of a 25 year old game, that is how fisted in dozens of locations. No putting the toothpaste back in the tube.
They can't Super Mario 64 rom hack's aren't the same source code as normal 64 is, it's not Nintendo's code no more it's our code now therefore it has nothing to do with them.
@@GoofyPoptart But couldn't it be argued that the characters, animations and general design and or look of the game is owned by Nintendo?
Will the romhacking community finally give us the long awaited Zelda Maker?
Can we get one thing clear: the Nintendo 64 controller is still the best controller ever made. Alright then, carry on.
😯
The Asylum was a recreation of the Undead Asylum from DS1
Is the video running slow or is it just me? 🤔
Let the Get Sued By Nintendo Speedrun begin.
They are in another country lol at the end of the day they can’t do anything
It's not like there giving you the game it self
@@kennypowers1945what do you mean, Nintendo has offices in virtually all continents.
@@kennypowers1945stupidest comment of the day
To bad its the DS version of Mario64. Still its amazing to make your own levels.
It's not the DS version tho, it's based on the original N64 ROM. Thus why you can play the patched ROM on a real N64 (which is what is shown here).
Is it meant to be that laggy?
does this work on everdrive or emu only?
Literally in the first 20 seconds of the video
Nintendo should just hire this team of programmers and have them make this a real product for the Switch with some cosmetic enhancements!
But that would mean Nintendo listening to its fans
Nintendo ninjas incoming
"The Mario 64 community is one of the most creative I ever seen"
The Mega Man community with their Mega Man Maker "I'm a joke to you?"
Nintendo, this for SMM 3 please!!! Watched a few streamers mess with this and is really cool. Also the fact that it can run on a real N64 (if you want) is also crazy cool! I haven't messed with it myself yet, but plan to.
Instead of collaborating with the project creator's and actually get this on Switch to make money, Nintendo will spend money on lawyers and find a way to crush this.
Why is his thumb in every single thumbnail? Does he take everything literally? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Finally first
Yeah…. seems kinda janky and pointless to me. Without being able to share the levels EASILY online, what’s the point? Making levels for yourself in your mother’s basement?
Bro you can access the levels easily online. How hard is it to upload a level online via a web browser, it is about as difficult as uploading a homework assignment to a class portal (which is easy). Furthermore, you can download levels online (he showed it in the video) and it is as easy as dropping the files in the premade directory. This is basic file management. Plus, a stock N64 doesn't have a network interface to grab levels from. I actually think this way is easier, because you won't have Nintendo shutting down servers. Instead, even if Mario 64 world builder stopped development, you could still import/export worlds and share them anywhere and anytime. Of course, if you want it to feel like a cohesive consolized experience, then this romhack probably won't appeal to you. Which is completely okay, I'm sure Nintendo will eventually catch on and build a more consistent 3D mario editor (which would be awesome).
@@grantschilb8019 Guess everyone has a different definition of what is “easy” or not.
@@leeartlee915 for sure, I understand that mods are usually for people who are into PC gaming, and that isn't everyone (which is completely okay). Let's hope Nintendo makes a more polished solution for the masses.
@@grantschilb8019 I probably shouldn’t have used the word “pointless”. I guess I just get a little annoyed when content creators act like things like these are “just like Mario Maker, but for 3D Mario!”. It’s not, it just isn’t.
@@leeartlee915 Completely understandable!
