You picked up some great stuff Dale. Althea and Donna were on my reserve list, and I wish I'd bought it now. The Mr Benn soundtrack looks really nice. I'm glad you got what you wanted. I'll be doing my RSD video quite soon. Cheers Mike👍
I absolutely LOVE the look of that Mr Benn album Dale, always loved the music and watching them again with my son when he was little was a sheer joy. Wasn't aware Althea and Donna had recorded an album, although was familiar and liked the single Uptown Top Ranking.
Glad you got what you were after Dale. Interestingly that Mr Benn soundtrack includes the flute playing of The Beatles Penny Lane Flutist Ray Swinfield. Enjoy your buys. Mike🎸
Very interesting. I slept in and then sat on the couch. Nothing for me, though I was curious about a a few releases. A couple of stores near me had posted prices, and the prices scared me away.
42 years after first seeing them on Top Of The Pops I still get excited when I hear the first 10 seconds of ‘Uptown Top Rankin’ possibly my favourite single ever. I bet that Mr Benn is brilliant. Mark who owns Hundred Records is a really nice bloke. Always worth checking Oxfam in Romsey, at times they have some extroidanary stuff in there.
Yes I can't visit Romsey without popping into Oxfam. I'm looking forward to spinning the Althea and Donna. Mr Benn is playing now and is exactly what I hoped...
Hi Dale, your thought process seemed to match mine - good selection this year but ridiculous prices. My original list was over a dozen - ended up getting 4. After the first two you showed I was certain the third would have been the Peter Tosh live album - but you took a serious left turn with Mr Ben. BTW cull my ar*e - just look at that inbox 🤣🤣
Guilty as charged! I was doing so well with the cull until April. I've probably bought more than I've sold this month!!! Back on it in May (but now the car boot sales are getting into full flow....)
I was in Newcastle this afternoon and had no idea it was Record Store Day. That is until I was at the bus stop and was standing next to someone who was clutching several full record shop carrier bags. He looked happy but will probably be paying off his overdraft for the next few months 😂
I found the pricing on a few of the albums were pretty unbelievable such as the Ennio Morricone that had my interest. I don't remember seeing any of the releases you showed, so I don't know if they were only UK RSD releases.
Mr. Benn! Now your talking! 70s UK kids TV was just the best. I've never really been into RSD I've been few times though later in the day. Is that new placement of your router on the wall?!
The router's always been there Martin, sprouting out of my head...Well Wycombe have blown the play-offs - what's gone wrong at Arsenal? You need to win the game with City now or I think it will be over...
@@gatefold33 I was in Wycombe yesterday on non RSD activities and saw some dejected fans. Arsenal I think they desperately miss Saliba and the cover isn't enough which has affected the whole team. Man City have two teams (and multiple bank accounts) so can possibly get the treble so I don't bemoan old Citeh fans that have lived in United's and Liverpool's shadows for so long. Arteta is a better manager than a player though he was half decent obviously. I would say if we don't lose Wednesday maybe we'd hang on or may just got to last game or two ........
Cool to see things I don’t know. Love all the RSD stories and adventures. ✌🏻
Thanks Mazzy, hopefully you managed to get out for RSD and we'll see a video...

I'd recommend the Mr Benn if you see it around as a great item for a fan to have...
Nice pickups dale I picked that Ernest rangling for my mate. Good aretha and Donna classic when it came out.
I played the Ernest Ranglin today and really enjoyed it. It's a mix of jazz and reggae

Hi Mike yes and also the great British jazzer Kenny Wheeler on trumpet. A burst of nostalgia...
I went out late to the stores but I found what I was looking for, more then I had expected to spend sadly Mr Benn, nostalgia strikes again
I'm a sucker for nostalgia...

The prices were ridiculous this year. At least I didn't queue from early in the morning to get stung for that kind of money...

Ha,ha I was typing this just as you mentioned Oxfam!

Hi dale I knew you’d pick up mr benn .. I didn’t bother with rsd but if I see a copy of that album I’d grab it 👍
You know my tastes Rob. Worth picking-up if you see it for the nostalgia value...

Several bags?! Blimey no wonder they were getting the bus, probably had to sell the car to pay for the records...💰
Hi Dale. Have you opened the Ernest Ranglin yet? Got it also. Unique mix of music genres. More jazz as reggae. Cheers. /Paul
Hi Paul, yes I've played it and am loving it. Definitely jazz and reggae. Cheers Dale

Prices were crazy for some releases. I've been buying a lot this month already so was OK to be restrained on RSD...
