I have open cracks in the floor of my apartment. I also live next door to a Smiths Gas Station. I get the smell of gas in my apartment. The smell stays for about a half hour and it's strong. I have reported it to management, building inspector, the city of Salt Lake City, and Smiths (Krogers corporate office) and not one person cares. I was even told my the Salt Lake City health department, it wasn't a health issue. As for the crack in the bedroom floor I worry about radon. I don't have the money to relocate. Because I'm poor and a senior citizen my state can careless.
Hello, so we purchased a 2010 home and everything was good but now our tile from inside the house is separating in certain parts of the house . We do have a crack on the ceiling but nothing big . We’re hoping it’s nothing big or expensive to fix .
@@mariarodriguez-ic5tr well usually tile flooring issues are a problem with the installation of the sub floor, if the sub floor is not solid the tiles can move when walked on the grout or the tiles can crack. As for ceiling cracks they are normal and can be caused by a number of minor issues. Structural Settlement cracks like the ones in the video are larger with an opening of 1/8” or larger. These are more serious, but small cracks with no real opening are normal.
@@mariarodriguez-ic5tr I think tile is not the best flooring for a slab on grade. With out any footing the slab will move during the different seasons we call this a “floating slab” cracking of the grout and tiles is common in that application.

Hi sealing cracks in the floor will not reduce radon levels and I would recommend contacting the public health inspector about the gas station.

Hi Maria thank you very much for your question, it doesn’t sound like structural movement. When you say tile is separating, do you mean flooring?
