I have lived in Prescott and Prescott Valley, That was back in 1996-2003...I really liked it there...One of the best places i ever lived...I would definitely live there again.

+Josef Trumpeldor Regarding Prescott, I keep reading about a massive drug problem and people begging for money, is this an over exaggeration by people online? Or is it really a nice safe community to visit or even live in?

Yes and no. Yes, we have bums but panhandling isn't a problem and I'm in downtown several times a week. Because tourism is such an important industry, the police do a pretty good job of keeping them at bay.
Drugs per se aren't the problem; druggies in rehab are. We have, PER CAPITA, more rehab places than any other city, to my knowledge. Part of the problem is that they are unregulated and when the city recently tried to enact legislation, Oblama sent in his lawyers to cry "foul" as drug and alcohol dependency is a disability and therefore covered under FEDERAL law and not local law.
The other major ingredient in the mix is that the drug pushers congregate here in order to intice the rehab crowd and/or feed their habits once they fall off the wagon.
Other than that, it's a GREAT place to visit and move to!

Its overly expensive. Many young locals are struggling to remain living here because of all the developers moving in. Theres 40k homes planned for the outskirts of prescott alo g with another hospital and more shopping centers smh. Its losing its small town charm. Accidents nearly every other day and congestion is getting worse every day
