    MORE Karen MORE!! You should do these much more often. Keto being restrictive? I just think I can have a piece of candy or I can get out of bed pain free. I can a sandwich with bread or I can fit into my clothes comfortably.

    My batch yesterday was made with almond flour, cheddar low fat, egg, butter, cream: 6 biscuits made: per biscuit: calories 234, carbs less fiber 4, fat 19g, protein 8, calcium 14%. Note this was from my batch of 6. I believe the numbers to be accurate or very close. Note: the amount of salt for me was 1/4 teaspoon. Did not use baking soda/ use baking powder! I also added 1/4 teaspoon garlic power and did not use any parsley. I used 50% whole milk and 50% whipping cream as substitute.. They went quickly no complaints of too much salt. I enjoyed the biscuits too. Thank you Karen, Eric and Amy (their awesome daughter) for the idea! This was fun to make a low carb biscuit batch.

    I'm on a low sodium diet because of an inner ear issue. Can I reduce the amount of salt by half?
    Edited to add: Oops!! Reading the comments below answered my question. The recipe sounded WAY TOO SALTY even for people not limiting their sodium intake.
    UPDATE: I just made these and they are awesome!! I had one with scrambled eggs for breakfast. I added 1/2 teaspoon of salt and it was still a little too salty. Next time I will add only 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Great recipe!
    These were more like corn muffins than biscuits but they are delicious!

    I made a double batch of these today. My first batch looked like cookies but I had flattened them. The next batch i paid more attention making a big ball of dough, and they came out beautifully and tasted amazing! But I don't ever seem to know the carbs in anything which is very odd seeing that I'm on a low carb diet.
    I previously made the "world's healthiest bread" which was delicious but I never made it again because I could never get a carb count.

    So quick modification to this recipe and you can easily make it into the rolls you get at red lobster. Melt down a few table spoons of butter, about tsp of chopped garlic, maybe 1/4 tsp of lemon juice, pinch of red pepper dried and italian seasoning and salt to taste. Brush it towards the end of the bake time and top with some extra cheese. Finish baking and give it one final brush.
    The recipe itself is outstanding and imo my change adds a nice element. I have to say the more I learn about keto the more I feel like the amount of dietary freedom I have is tremendous compared to what I had back in my eat whatever comes in low calorie days.

    • @oORiseAboveOo
      @oORiseAboveOo 3 роки тому +1

      Yeah, I don’t like the taste of almond flour. It’s passable as a pizza dough, but I cover it completely with toppings. I don’t like coconut flour too much, but I made chocolate chip muffins with it yesterday, and they were pretty good. It’s just really heavy and filling.
      Try using Lupin flour. I’ve made bagels with it, and the taste is pretty good. I think there’s two kinds though, so get the sweet one.
      There’s also keto wheat flour made by King Arthur. The taste was better than the almond flour, and the bagels were ok, but I don’t know if I’ll buy another bag. The lupin flour so far is the best for me. Maybe I’ll check out the pecan.
