@Joel Larry I really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
about 1:50 as you were leaving the parking garage, Im guessing you had the camera on the roof of your vehicle, I really thought that low clearence sign was going to knock the camera rightoff of the roof of your car...LOL
So many free parking spaces! I was there as a tourist driving in 1993 and had to leave my car about three blocks away from where I was staying . It was impossible to find a free space. After a couple of days, I left the car in one spot and used the public transport for the two weeks I was there.
Beautiful drive and being a car nut, I watched this for that alone. On your drive I spotted a dozen Porsches, a Peugeot RCZ, a Corvette, a Mustang, a Dodge Durango, a few Mercedes SLs, a Lada Niva, a classic Chevy Impala, a bunch of classic Volkswagens, a BMW 2002, some classic BMWs and much more. When you drive through a huge city.....you see things.
It's a great feeling having a 'joy ride through the streets of Germany while processing some other thoughts....THANKS FOR THE JOY RIDE...I REALLY ENJOY IT......
I like how the road and bicycle lanes are designed and well marked. While we can't seem to get it right, here in Calgary, we could sure learn from this example, instead of wasting so much money for traffic research and design ideas! We seem to be reinventing the wheel on a lot of things, instead of just looking to Europe for a lot of great ideas, especially public transit!
I like how there's almost always a priority road sign before the intersection if you don't have to yield to traffic from the right here in Finland we often don't have that so you have to look whether there's a yield sign on the road on the right or not
Watched part of this before visiting Munchen:) .. it was no stress driving there I enjoyed it .. One thing you need to know when your right turn signal is green watch for pedestrians and cyclists crossing at the corner because there signal is green too . Have a great one!
❤️❤️❤️ Great camera quality and city scenery! I can’t wait to travel back to 🇩🇪 …Europe I lived there 5 years via military duty. Danke fürs Mitnehmen! 🤗
I drove a MB furniture delivery truck through this traffic every day many years ago. The traffic was very heavy and often gridlocked. I often came back to the store with both rear view mirrors bent over from other trucks squeezing me. Let's just say that traffic could get agressive, but it was fun. Good video
The buildings that survived the RAF bombing campaign have lots of German character, the modern ones are just bland boring characterless boxes with lots of windows.
Puzzoozoo exactly! A country that is just filled with modern architecture speaks of a bland and inhuman approach to architecture. I’m from England, which was bombed heavily in the war and one thing I can say is that many cities fall from grace once you bring in this architecture. Before the war, pretty much all of Europe kept their traditional architectural style and it spoke of the heritage from which their nation was born. If we just build bland and square buildings, not only does it make us feel miserable and unproud, it makes every city look the same; if there are people who read this I ask you to promote traditional architectural designs all across Europe and especially the worst offending ones.
joharno gerkens totally! I can’t stand going through a city and seeing those dirty, cheap and horrible buildings built in council estates and our city centres.
***** Do you know when I first came here in 87 I could leave a nightclub in Schwabin and walk home to Thalkirchen without anyone even looking my way. I know that since I first came here the city has changed a lot but I would never leave my heart belongs here.
Interesting mix of architecture. Seems like a lot of Cold War era buildings, mixed in with more modern ones. How much of the old city has been left after WWII?
Very much, because Bavaria was not bombed by the Britains, but by the Americans who already thought about the future of occupied Germany and that it would not that convenient if no single building (or church for soldiers) is left
It's fascinating to follow your route in the video and on a map. The quality of urban driving seems as varied as the alertness of some pedestrians you see on the way: just like in many other big cities.
I'm going to Munich on business for three days this week (City Center). I have no plan. I don't speak a word of German. But Germany, like most of Europe, is far more multilingual than America, so I am going to trust that I can get around. Gonna find an Uber from the Airport to City Center. Then kinda play it by ear from there. ;-)
14:20 that’s about 1-2 min walking from where I used to live at the time of the video (left and then 2 streets down). I guess I could have been almost in this video 😅
Are you serious? When did you go to Munich to notice all that? Because last time I went to Munich (five years ago) there were uniformed cops everywhere so I felt really safe.
Yes I am ,but I would love to stay in Munich have been to Munich many times always have fun hope to get to Frottmaning next time to watch football have been twice but it was for stadium visits
Nice ... is that with the GoPro's own microphone? Externally mounted or just with the windows open? It seems to pick up basically all of the ambient sounds but without being overwhelmed by noise, quite impressive :)

i know this is an old video. but we are travelling to germany soon. flying into munich, then on to nurmberg and finally berlin. i know there are trains and public transit. but would it be worth it for us to rent a car to travel around outside of munich and other places? in london we just used public transport that got us everywhere we wanted to go. it was easy. is germany like this too?
YES! Rent a car, you will enjoy being on your own time schedule to spend as much or little time in areas VS having to be on a commuter time schedule. After doing it both ways we would only suggest having your own car and the rental cost VS commuter cost is actually less in the grand scheme of things! You will be able to relax and enjoy MUCH more rather than always watching a clock and worrying about commuter connections. Take an up to date Garmin GPS with European Maps installed. Stress free travel!
