Thank you so much for this, as a Gentile believer in Yeshua, I was raised in the traditional church. Through the years I have attended Baptist, Methodist, Charismatic and Non-denominational churches, each time getting closer to a more vital walk with G-d. I have ALWAYS wondered who "that prophet" was, so thank you for this explanation. Now I attend a "Jewish-roots" fellowship, where I am learning about celebrating the Feasts and how they are so prophetic. I have eaten kosher since I was a teenager after reading a book called, "None of These Diseases". I do this for G-d's rules on dietary hygiene, not for trying to earn my salvation. I believe I am saved by grace! I have a LOT to catch up on: I have a VERY steep learning curve! So, I am looking forward to hearing what you have to say in further discourses. Since the Second Writings (the New Testament) refers so much to the First Writings (the Old Testament) trying to understand without knowing the Hebrew mindset is like coming into a movie half way through and trying to figure it out! Beloved of God, Messiah has the very signs of Moses to help His belov d Jewish people know the sent One, who is to take them to the Promised Land.Remember, Moses asked for signs to help the people know the sent one. They never asked those same signs, but they did ask Messiah, just like Moses prophesied they would. The Word of God is incredible, we must praise Him! Why is there always a controversy of some sort surrounding every major passage of the Tanakh, that New Testament authors reference, as they try to establish legitimate grounds for believing what they've claimed to have witnessed?
John the baptist didn't know that he indeed was Elijah. Yes, Yeshua is the Messiah i got to speak to him face to face in Heaven he indeed is the only begotten Son of God.

John the Baptist as was stated may have not known his position as Elijah. This gave Yeshua problems because he said he was. John lost faith in him when he sent his disciples to inquire if he is the Messiah. Israel were supposed to recognize John and Jesus, but their pride prevented them. Jealousy case in and that led to the sacrifice on the cross

The prophet is Elijah..malachi 4:4-5 kjv
Kindly watch, The signs of Moses hold great wisdom to God's people, by clicking on icon, God gave those two signs with a reason, so that His beloved people may know the identity of the sent One. But the jewish priests asked John the Baptist three questions:
Was he Elijah, was he the Messiah, was he 'that Prophet' (ie.the prophet like Moses mentionec in Deuteronomy)?
Clearly, they were asking about three separate people. Jesus fulfilled the messianic prophecy but then he cannot be either Elijah or 'that Prophet'.
In all of history since then, there had only been one person who fits the prophecy of the coming of the prophet like Moses:
"I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die." Deut. 18.18-20
Which person came from the brothers of the Israelites, the Arabs, and proclaimed his prophethood? And brought a revelation which he claimed were the exact words of God and whose chapters begin in the Name of God? Which other law-giver prophet is like Moses if not the one prophesised by name in the Song of Songs? "Muhammadim".

+Mohammed Hanif John the Baptist did not know that he was the Elijah that had been foretold, but Jesus identified John as at least some kind of Elijah they had been waiting for [Mt 11:14].
As for the claim about Muhammad:
i. You cannot use the theology of the Jews who went to ask John the questions as the measuring rod for all Truth! The only thing which the fact that they had thought that the Christ and the Prophet were two distinct individuals proves is the fact that that was how they read the Bible - it doesn't prove that they were correct in their reading of the text in that way (just as John's denial that he was Elijah only shows that he didn't understand that portion of Scripture)! Many things are recorded in the Bible; their splitting the Prophet from the Messiah is merely a record of their errant reading of the Bible (even as they still split the Messiah into two Messiahs - Messiah son of Joseph and Messiah son of David - until this very day). Their being recorded in the Bible is not necessarily a Biblical affirmation of their correctness; the Bible is simply faithfully recording the event.

Isn't it interesting that you reject the entire Bible, claiming that though it was once pure it has been corrupted (without any historical evidence of the supposed "pure" versions, just thousands upon thousands of the versions that say what our Bibles still say today - with the vast majority of the variants being completely unimportant, and none of the variants even coming close to *possibly* overturning the singular message that is repeated throughout the NT: of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ), but when it suits you, you pick a single word - from a sister language, by the way (thus, these kinds of similarities should naturally be expected) - and then claim that that single word (from a text which you say is not God's Word) all of a sudden proves your religion's claims? Is that intellectually honest?

The proof is there if you peel back the layers and look into the historical documents the bible is a historical and prophetic book written over centuries with many authors. It all leads back to Yesuah.

The second part of deuteronomy 18.18 is that the prophet like moses does might miracles jesus does Mighty miracle like moses and Muhammad did not.
And next please read the next verse it shows how Muhammad can't be a prophet. For he spoke in the name of another god Al--lah the moon god.
LIKE moses freed the people of Israel from bondage by God's power also jesus saves us from the bondage of sin.

The prophecy of "Joshua and Zerubbabel" was a symbolic prophecy in which Joshua and Zerubbabel where SYMBOLIC of two men who would come LATER in the future to fulfill the prophecies spoken of them. The prophecy concerning Joshua would be fulfilled first, then the prophecy concerning Zerubbabel would be fulfilled. The Father sent the Lord Jesus (Joshua/Yeshua/Yehoshua) to us…FIRST…to redeem us. It is He who fulfilled the prophecy concerning Joshua. The verse refers to the similar prophetic authority. It doesn't compare between the two prophets, but indicates resemblance in the power of prophecy.
The nature of the two prophets can be different, but there is likeness in the prophetic power.
Overall I agree that it is not a strong prophecy about Jesus, but I can give better ones:
Isaiah 9 5-6: the Messiah is called almighty God "אל גבור" only God is called like that 2 times in the bible Nehemiah 9 32, and Isaiah 10.
Jeremiah 23 5-6 the Messiah is called Jehova )יהוה צדקנו(.
Isaiah 48 12-17. Someone who created the world, the first and the last was sent by God and his spirit.
Proverbs 8 22-31 someone who existed from the begging of the world and is not the Lord.
Pslams 22 and Isaiah 53. Isaiah 53 proves the chapter is not about Israel.
Micah 5, Messiah from Biet Lehem that always existed and Zechariah 12 10 they looked on the pierced.
Daniel 9 , the most holy Messiah before second temple destroyed. The Messiah has to come before second temple destroyed because we lost the continuance of David geneology since.

Jesus said the father was greater than him because he was in human body, that is why they should have been happy for Jesus to die so he can be equal to the father again. You qouted out of context.

The sin is turning away from that spirit in you and leaning on your own understanding, unable to hear the voice crying in the wilderness. It's only when you die in your spirit and be born again, resurrecting the spirit within, are you truly a child of God again.
The death on the cross has nothing to do with you being saved. There is life in the blood. That life is the Father in us all, when Jesus preached he spoke from within, and by His blood we are saved, any other spoke not of the Father within.

*BOTH MOSES AND JESUS {FAILED} IN THEIR MISSION/TASK!* Moses' whole purpose of the Exodus was to lead the Israelites to the Land Promised (Israel). He fell short of it. He failed in his task ... because of the PEOPLE! It was Joshua who fulfilled Moses' duty. Likewise, Jesus also FAILED in His mission/task, like Moses, because of the PEOPLE! (Isaiah 49v4-5)

*BOTH MOSES AND JESUS WENT TO ISRAEL {{TWICE}}!!* The first time Moses went to Israel, they rejected him. He left. He married a Gentile wife. He had 2 sons. The second time Moses went to Israel, they embraced him.

First time Jesus went to the Jews, they rejected Him ... just like they did with Moses! He left ... just as Moses did! He married a Gentile Wife (Church is the "Bride of Christ") ... just as Moses did. He is over 2 Covenants (Cornerstone) ... just as Moses was over 2 sons. The Second Time He comes, the Jews will embrace Him because THEY are the ones who will be crying out to Him as Lord and Savior and God. He comes to save ISRAEL! The Second Coming is for the Salvation of no one else but ISRAEL!

Gentlemen. There never was a Moses or an exodus. He never existed and never wrote the Torah. This has been proven for some time now. Many of the Biblical characters never existed! Many of the stories are fiction and allegory. The gospels as well. However I think there is a Jesus. A person from the Czech Republic said he met him and was shocked. He said Jesus was a very pleasant encounter. His name is Jan. Jan said he saw his own body floating in the river. He just can not understand it. He was an atheist.

Yes I do believe that Mohamed was spoken about im the bible in Deuteronomy 18:20 :
"20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die".
And what happened.......he died after been poisoned !!
