It’s like Megan McArdle attended the first day of Econ 101 when they teach you about opportunity cost, completely misunderstood, then walked out of that one lecture thinking she knew everything there was to know about economics. Well, it isn’t like she did that. I’m almost positive that is exactly what she did. There is absolutely no other explanation for what she writes.

Because she has to be ignorant of that to feel like she has accomplished anything at all. She grew up super wealthy, and is a blogger who got writing gigs because of her family connections. If she doesn’t ignore that, she will feel like a real piece of garbage.
