Great Horned Owl Chick Hatches | 3.4.24

Our first Great Horned Owl chick has hatched! In the video, you can see the female owl eating the empty eggshell, which raptors sometimes do to remove the remains and replace the calcium they used for egg production. You can then see the chick flopping around under her. We'll watch for the second egg to hatch as well.
