Regarding TV series, you should consider The Sopranos (perhaps the best show ever; very violent), Justified (an amazingly intense and brilliant show), Billions, Mr. Robot, The Blacklist (stunningly intense -- very violent, though the violence is less explicit than than on the cable shows), Lucifer, The X Files, 24 (only the original 8 seasons -- NOT the reboot with all new people which drew low ratings and was cancelled), Ray Donovan, Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, Breaking Bad (really good), Better Call Saul (a spinoff of Breaking Bad), Homeland, Boardwalk Empire, Fargo, Game of Thrones, Peaky Blinders (really good), the BBC series Spooks (called MI-5 in the USA), Foyle's War, Veep, The Big Bang Theory (and its spinoff Young Sheldon), Elementary, Person of Interest (each day its seems like this show was on target in predicting the world we now live in), Chuck, Fringe, Modern Family, Shameless, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Rick & Morty (very funny animated Sci-Fi series -- NOT for children), Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, Frasier, Taxi (from the 1970s, but still hysterical -- especially Se2 Ep3 entitled Reverend Jim A Space Odyssey -- one of the funniest half hours in the history of television), The Bob Newhart Show, The Mary Tyler Moore Show (the first show that featured a working woman who was comfortable being single -- smart and funny), Newhart (a second, unrelated comedy featuring Bob Newhart; see both series and the last episode of this explains why it is often considered the greatest series finale ever), M*A*S*H (no show got more laughs or tears than this one), Hill Street Blues (set the benchmark for modern police shows), St. Elsewhere (under-rated hospital show by the same creative team that did Hill Street Blues), Chicago Hope (another hospital show that was better than E.R.), Picket Fences (funny, tragic and brilliant all at once -- David E.
