There is actually a purpose to wings in Space Engineers. Decoy blocks are an incredibly powerful defence against turrets. One way of using them is by placing them in heavily armoured pods that are distanced from the main ship. That way the turrets shoot the pods on the sides and not your main ship. Turns out the decoy blocks are more effective when they are placed in front of the whole ship, as well as to the sides. That way they are more likely to attract fire. So the ideal ship wings in Space Engineers look like lobster claws, two(or more) pods going forward and to the sides of a ship.

@@LordChonkers Haha, yep! :) I like the idea of claws and everything, plus they can be effective with decoys. Also it would be kinda funny if the limbs fall off with the decoys active, like lizards do to throw off predators :p
i always come back to these to be schooled on how to do stuff in SE, i stop playing for a while and come back and youre videos help to get that creative concentration flowing.
I really don't know why you are on my recommended tab (I actually never saw a youtuber with less than 1k followers on there), but your videos are very interesting and actually quite helpful^^ Keep it up, maybe you will magically appear on more recommended tabs xD
The Story Teller -1 has subscribed, and suggests a small thing. perhaps you should have explained slightly the passages modification, cat walks additions, and other pieces even if only in passing. wonderful video regardless.
You forgot to only use prime numbers for the spine and ribs and keep everything off set and zig zag of excessive components being upgraded on top of each other. Basically daedulus's ALL terrain labyrinth built in from the collective engineering nightmares that just didnt quit.
There's a difference between wrapping your components in armor and incorporating your ship components into your armor. You have to cut away your ship just to repair anything
i am very new to space engineers and i only play in creative because the building aspect is the aspect i LOVE and i alsi like sci-fi stuff so this game is perfect for me, i only made small ships yet but one thing i always do, is that i hide the thrusters because they dont look that good. I have not went to space yet but that's my next goal: to make a hydrogen powered ship. After that i'm gonna build my first large ship.
I made the floor 4×4 and length 11 of my very first vehicle and had such a panic when I actually counted it after seeing it wasn't lining up that I had put wheels on I just said screw symmetry and ran that shit. Now I am just gonna do cursed ship.
I lost my hydrogen tank so I am just respawning for refills. I found cobalt tho, so that rover is a future quarry. Put an antenna and every thing on that whip.

decoy throwers or decoy missilies tend to work very well
