I respectfully disagree, in a situation where you cannot live for your friends but you want them to live and to live for you too, I would gracefully die for them - Gray Fullbuster of Fairy Tail oh its why he wanted to do Iced Shell all those times but was wrote out of the anime to keep him in the anime his death would of been so beautiful my bow and respect to Gray Fullbuster.

Well Mavis and Zeref are not completely gone they have been reborn with new names to have a new and better life ( little spoil we see them both as Mavis and Zeref with a little surprise in the 100 year quest)

The thing I love most about fairy tail is there is no binding no one forces to love each other their is no blood relation and YET they are your family. I think that's your true family one were you can be you and be loved for it with all flaws

A kid name Thamill traveled the region of Hoenn to become the pokemon champion. Early on his path he came across a majestic beauty whom he named Mavis. She was the star of the team and somehow managed to survive every battle she came across. Once he reached the champion, Her true potential shown when it was revealed that she was indeed the receiver of a magical power although at the steep cost of one of her closest allies. At the last stretch, Thamill was to be tested by a wise Sage in order to see if he was truely the one who would save the world. The battle was intense. 3 of her teammates were already dead and she was their last hope only to be immediately killed. Thamill was barely able to win the battle still overcome with grief only to be told that no one was hurt that battle. Mavis and everyone else had survived. As a result of this, I have always associated this song with her "death" as it was played when we the audience recalled our first meeting to her near deaths. Man do I miss the days of the ORAS Extreme Nuzlocke made by TyranitarTube. I haven't watched the SW/SH one, but I sure hope that it was as emotional as the original.
