I know I'm preaching to the choir a bit here, but one of the first things I had to un-learn after growing up in the "MORE POWER!" era of home stereo equipment in the 80's and 90's was that it really doesn't take that much power to put out a loud, full sound. Back when I was in high school, I had a pair of 300-watt (each) floor speakers and a 100-watt-per-channel amp to feed them, and that would EASILY fill the whole house at a volume that was tolerable once you got about three rooms away 😆. I used that same amp with a pair of 30-something-year-old bookshelf speakers through college and into my adult years -- still do, as a matter of fact, though not as my main stereo anymore -- and it still took quite a bit of power to drive those 4.5-inchers to the point of filling my living room. Couldn't tell you exactly when things changed or why, but at some point in the late 2000's or early 2010's, the industry started figuring out what Paul Klipsch and Bob Heil had decades ago: if you tune the cabinet to the cones and set your crossover points accordingly, you'll improve your speaker's efficiency tremendously and cut the necessary amplifier power by nearly two thirds. That came along with the growing popularity of Class D amplifiers that are already INCREDIBLY energy-efficient, so the combination of techniques has produced remarkably good results. I personally replaced that older system in my living room with a Class D amp running 50 watts per channel and a modern pair of 6-inch bookshelf speakers. That system fills my entire apartment at 50% volume. I haven't dared to turn it up any louder!

Hi! awesome review. I just bought some, and when listening to music, I hear a background noise, which only stops when the music is not playing. Doesn't it happen to you?
