As a leader going into a high pressure environment, this is a stroke (excuse the pun) of genius from Thomas Bjorn. If you listen to the great coaches of every sport, they will tell you that big occasions are about calming players down, not firing them up. These are world class players, they don't need motivation. They need an environment where stress is removed as much as possible so they can play to their potential. Bravo, Thomas.
You fire them up, but not just before the match, thos was on the Monday, get them calm & ready. The firing up happens in training a while before, to practice in the pressure moments. Also depends on sport, golf is going to he a bit different to rugby

No. Did he grasp how this was meant as a bonding experience? Yes. How many matches did Molinari play in the 2018 matches? 5. How many points did he contribute? 5. 👏

As a American I wish our team had as much fun. The Europeans go at this event in the correct way at so many different levels.
