This was very helpful! I think this is my problem, after a fuel pump rebuild. Top cylinder wet - and funny thing, I was going to open up and check head gasket, just like you said. I'll just try a new fuel pump, and get the longer bolts, and fuel line size and orientation correct for new pump. Thanks a million!

Ola. Em vários manuais de serviço OMC década de 70 e 80 informava que o tanque de combustível NÃO poderia ficar a mais de 70cm de nível inferior a bomba e mangueira longa pois diminuiria a eficiência da bomba e assim o vácuo no diafragma poderia danifica-lo. E isso e verdade NÃO somente em OMC's.
I had these bad fuel pump issues but now it won’t even start. Rebuilt carb and good spark. Can a fuel pump or diaphragm cause a no start? Thank you.
You have to prime the motor with fuel. If the carburetor get fuel and you have spark the motor must start. If you have bad diaphragm the motor can get flooded with fuel but only one cylinder and will be hard or impossible to start it.
Would the fuel pump issue be the sane if it doesn't start and just always floods? Bottom plug soaked. Needle is 100% seating.

Have you found out? I have seen in another video that if your diaphragm is ripped, fuel will leak into crankcase and cylinder and cause flooding
@@alenmijic2745 That is exactly what is happening in this case. There is a lot of fuel and it wets the electrodes of the spark plug, so the outboard does not work well
