You mean poverty is still a serious problem in the city. New Yorkers that invaded the City has caused prices to skyrocket and pushing native Newarkers out. The only thing that is happening is gentrification and colonization.
They are not hiring within the city. They are coaxing employees to move to Newark. I know that seem like progress, but until the city government address ALL of Newark, not just the Ironbound and Downtown areas Newark Residents (Real Residents) will continue to suffer. Just like Brooklyn, Harlem, Jersey City, Baltimore, Numerous Chocolate Cities around the country. This happens ALL the time. Neighborhoods (Good Working Class People) get gobbled up by Elitist that no longer want to live in the Suburbs, until they get married and have children and then they abandon these areas and resources go with them. I love Newark, always have and others like myself have rallied and fought for the existing residents to be able to better their surroundings. NOW, it is appealing to outsiders.
@@mallorymcgill6478 You seem to know about what Audible is doing..What percentage of Newark Residents are currently working full time at their Newark location? I am not knocking the internship. The experience of working in such a company definitely has value. Do you know which schools they are pulling these students? I am just curious. Are you "from" Newark? Thank you
"Dropping 33%" is NOT the same as "dropping to a 3rd of what it was". The latter would be a 66% drop. (In other words, your statement is off by 50%.) Cmon CBS.
Downtown Newark has been cleaned up , but as a whole the city remains a danger zone.
