This show literally saved me , when I found it I was in a bad place ( anxiety and severe depression), I'm still not sure how or why it did but it's amazing,I fall asleep every night listening to the series , much love and respect for everyone involved in this beautiful show ❤️
The same with me. Really close calls in Syria and Afghanistan put me in a bad place for a long time, this show was one of the only things that could calm down my mind.
I listen to it every morning to start my day constructively, before the world can seep in and upset it. Check out digging for Britain, it has the same effect on me. Have a good day folks. :)
The original Time Team was fun and interesting. Their interaction with children and non archeology people was great. They were treated as friends and could be a part of the whole effort. And absolutely the joking of beat humor was great! It makes me watch the old episodes over and over again....
I don't know what it is about the Westminster episode but when I'm uptight and finding it hard to relax, I just put this episode on and it calms me down 🤷♂️
My favourite dig was the dig from the patreon ad with Carenza. The only ad that makes me smile; it was such a lovely weekend, meeting her in person and all the other great guys from Kiel. Next weekend the results of that dig will be presented in our village.. Greetings from Germany, love your effort to make archeology more accessibly to non-academics.
@@aairsick At 14:00 the patreon ad with Carenza was made in Schenefeld, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. I‘m in the background. If you are interested, this is a short video about that fantastic weekend. ua-cam.com/video/4sLmsHv1D7s/v-deo.html
Super you bring a special atmosphere of the past UK History and spirit up the 1950's of the late Mortimer Wheeler BBC TV days.Thankyou an EX PAT since 1966.Great show people helping me use my brain and lust for learning and understanding.Bless You All.👍👍👍👍😃
I always love how both Mick and Phil share my loathing of that bloated cesspit called London! As for favourite episode, it’s impossible to have just one, I was hooked from the very first and I’m useless at remembering names but the blast furnace one and the lovely one on a magnificent hillside in Dorset with the roundhouse in the garden I find myself watching frequently. I never got into the ones done outside the UK as or me TT is quintessential British at its best. I loved it early on when they came to Teignmouth as I lived in the next town so was able to see them in person.
I liked the double one in the West Indies. Fascinating. Esp as I think in another life I would have been a landscape archaeologist and Stewart was all over the place, machete on hand, tracking down roadways and buildings map in hand.
Codnor castle was my favorite episode for very personal reasons. On my mother's side I'm decended from the Zooches and we never knew how they became poor. this filled in a huge hole in my family history.
I'm really happy to see Codnor Castle on the list; I own a small holding about 1/2 a mile from the castle; and this dig is pretty much the best documentation of the site, since it's been ruined both by the mining and farming around it. But of late the new owner has fenced it off and banned people from walking the site at all, a sad tale.
The 2 new ones from last year returned, albeit with new faces added to some of the old ones, but using local amateur archaeology groups. Looking forward to this years digs. The hints on patreon videos are tantalising.
Oh how i love this show, i remember hearing about the show many moons ago when the show first launched, i was a huge fan of Tony Robinson before hand, i sat down and fell head over heals in love with the show within 10 minutes, and here i am so many many years later and i'm watching this with tears rolling down my face. i can't thank the entire shows crew and cast enough, this show was something very very special and it's very bitter sweet these days. RIP Mick. oh how i miss that man.
Ah! Codnor Castle! Home of the Greys, who show up in College of Arms MS M9 as Le sire de Grey Codnore. Love how my nerdy history loves come together over Time Team!
I just adore Raksha her treatment and care of the excavation of human remains is so perfect. Very humane and thoughtful of the person themselves, yet razor sharp scientific observations. She’s brilliant.😊
I'd love to see you come to america. You would need permission from native american tribes to get access to the places I'd love to see you dig, but that might be possible as you have a reputation of being respectful
They are not the most soil moved ,most important finds not the most learned, or most exciting, or biggest budget so how are the the biggest digs?? Good digs no argument but we as with the archeologists we need context.
The only problem I had with Mick was his stubborn idea that all history "is a lie" and you can only prove things by archeology. Problem is, you can find buildings (some of the time) people's skeletal remains (some of the time) but for the earth shattering changes that occurred in that time, you have to trust the Chroniclers and historians of the day. I'll give you an example! Supposedly Churchill gave a now famous speech at either Parliment or Whitehall where he "exhorted the Kingdom to fight on!" Makes for GREAT PROPAGANDA but did he actually give the speech? Did the BBC actually steal the speech and the news casters read the speech to the public for morale boost? Or perhaps Churchill WAS going to give the speech and he simply left it in his coat pocket and likely said something a bit more pragmatic? We will never know unfortunately. So yeah, Mick was partly right, bless his stubborn English soul.
You can't use examples of the history of current affairs in modern times, to negate Mick's attitude toward archaeological texts as references of actual happenings. The guy was right to regard them with scepticism. It wasn't stubbornness, 'twas most wise... Viva Lima Perú!!!
It was never the same without Mick, he was brilliant. rest in peace
True, but he only missed the last season.
Tony Robinson once called him,Prof. Dumbledoor.
I agree, he was one of a kind.

i miss all the original time team crew ,, they made it a very amusing and funny watch,,jokes and laughter beteen mick, tony and phil
Codnor Castle, where they found that beautiful gold coin, was such a perfectly endearing TT moment.
RIP Mick...I miss that guy

Let me add to my comments. As I was watching this it reminded me of the story telling.... Very easy to follow, it was interesting LOVE IT!
Season 1 Episode 1 is probably my favourite of all. That’s the episode that hooked me and I’ve never looked back.
And they did that entire show without dirtying a single trowel. And that first geophys of the Athelney Abbey was magical!
When the dot matrix printer printed the geophys map, it was magic.
@@cathywithac My #1 favourite moment in all 20 episodes. “Look at that!! Struth!!”

A little surprised Turkdean is not on the list. My personal favorite I think.
I'm surprised Binchester or the temples near St. Albans aren't here.

That shaking hand with the hammered gold coin 🪙 Just wonderful the elation that comes from discoveries.

We have this problem: no one knows where the mines are? amazing how context changes over time?
the thing about west minster, i have a question. is there an east minster?
No
I'd like to see a DNA test done on the skeletons to see if they can find their modern ancestors
They are not the most soil moved ,most important finds not the most learned, or most exciting, or biggest budget so how are the the biggest digs??
Good digs no argument but we as with the archeologists we need context.
A slideshow rather than a video.
Very poor transcription with a lot of missing frames.

Why are Phil and Tony gone?
