Welp. I cried. I was crying before Gab did. And when she started, I was hard sobbing. 😢 That was an amazing story.
same here. I was already crying watching then glanced up at gab and was just like noooooo
Same I was like we’re crying together gab
Yea same... maybe not the best idea to watch the tail end of this just before a meeting 😭
... same.
And... I don't cry.
I don't... ok... a little...
NOT me bawling... NO!
Real, I was sobbing
She wasn't stoned. Deborah endured a particularly painful form of punishment called "peine fort et dure", in which the bound subject has stones piled upon their chest until they can no longer breathe. It was a form of suffocation that could take several days to bring death. This was a really awesome game, and the devs clearly did their homework. Thank you for sharing.
Yes, immediately reminded me of The Crucible in which Giles is killed in the same manner rather than hanged like others suspected to be witches.
Yaaas. I knew immediately and was super impressed by the devs for this!!
So sorry but I thought you meant stoned as in high I was SO confused for a sec (just started watching)
While I would LOVE a follow up with side quests, I understand that this hasn't been the best performing series, despite your honestly amazing playthrough! Thank you for seeing this game till the end
Also a note on the ‘Oath failed’ ending!
I LOOOOVE the twist about Seeker actually being Siridean from a different time (we understand that the Nightmare can play with time so when she attacked Seeker it caused her to age rapidly). And then you’re send back to the beginning where Red wakes up on the beach with Seeker by his side. So after that ending it makes sense how Siridean knows all the stuff she does! And also why Old moss head (captain Pennington) is chasing after Siridean (his daughter).
And if we listen to how the Nightmare talks, we can kinda guess that Red tried to save Antea before and failed (once? twice? who knows!!). So the cycle continues and Siridean is aware of it and tries to help them 🥹
P.S. At least that’s how I understand it! After finishing the game I read about the endings and I think that is the general idea that they are stuck in a time loop.
And Gab didn’t play that side quest, but there is one called “Hanging Time”. It’s about Goody Perkins from the Harrows who is haunted by the ghost of herself! That’s the woman that hanged herself on the ship.
So yeah, another hint of the Nightmare curse playing with time 🫣
@@vi.ravlyk so does that mean that when Antea is ascended, the time loop is finally broken? That's a pretty cool way to say that this is the best ending you could get for Antea and Red because otherwise they're stuck in an endless loop.
@@mehjabeenbari4942 hmm, i think it’s both when Antea ascended or resurrected, basically the main goal is that you choose your oath and stick to it till the end! Then they break out of it.
It’s only when you fail your oath (for example: picked ascent but decided to blame the majority of people) that the Nightmare punishes Red and sends him to the beginning 🙌
The resurrected ending is just sad because you can see that to keep living Antea needs to keep murdering more people? 🥲 so yeah 😭
It took me way to much time to realize, until someone pointed it out in fact, that at the main screen (2:37:22) the opening of the cave forms in Antea's image/side profile
NO WAY, I NEVER NOTICED THIS TOO OMG 🤣🤣
Gosh, I just finished the previous Banishers video and thought to myself how I'm not ready to let this story go just yet. This series has become such a source of comfort since the first episode, and what a journey it has been!
In a way, the player gets to know Antea throughout the game to where it feels like saying bye to a friend in the end. My cats are so confused why I’m crying right now 😂
Me: im not gonna cry
Gab: *lifts glasses and sniffles
Me: *immediately starts sobbing😭
This may sound weird, but I really appreciate how genuine and vulnerable you're willing to be in your videos, from talking about ADHD to openly showing raw emotions when playing. It can't be easy but makes the experience so much more authentic.
EDIT: I played for just over 60 hours and did all the side quests but not everything 100% (like doing all of the repeatable scourges 10x, levelling all equipment etc.). It's certainly a huge game!
I had to watch the ending 3 times, the first time I couldn't see through the tears, the second time I noticed you crying so of course I cried again, and finally made it through the third time.
There was not a boring moment in this game. Not a bad line of dialog. Not a dry eye in the house. This was incredible! Thank you for the journey, Gab; this was a wonderful experience.
Why did I instantly start crying at the final scene? Looking up to see Gabs crying with me just made me cry harder. I love their love.
I knew the end was going to kill me and it did. But man... was this a journey. I loved this series so very much. I'll miss this characters
The end already? Enjoyed every second of this series ♥. Your play style is just so satisfying as it matches mine, was worth the wait !
Jeez that instant reaction she had at the end made me cry more than the game did 😢, what a gut punch of an ending and a surprising sadness watching Gab react the way she did so suddenly. What a good freaking story, really hits hard in the end.
Ereshkigal's
As the queen of Kur, Ereshkigal's role as a deity was primarily focused on death and rituals connected to the ending of someone's life. The main role of this goddess was to look after the souls of the dead and to act as a barrier between life and death, ensuring that the living and the dead did not interact.
Gosh, such a bittersweet ending to a brilliant game. Totally did not cry...(definitely did, even more so when I realised you were too).
The world building in this game has been amazing, the depth of characters, even ones that don't play a big role still had an impact.
The soundtrack also fantastic, hopefully one day fully on Spotify (or other services).
This play-through has been brilliant, and your commentary and jokes were on point as usual.
Now onto watch Little Kitty Big City for a little pick me up!
Not Gab having my cry at work at the end of this game…. This was an amazing play through Gab. So emotional and so invested ❤️
i’m so sad that this story is ending 💔 this was a great playthrough, thank you gab!!!
This was one of my favorite games, the ending here had me tears when I got to it. It was worth every moment, and I wish it had never ended. The game created a beautiful love story. This game portrayed emotions spot on. Love Antea and Red forever❤
Gab you're breaking my heart with that ending reaction 😭 Such a wonderful playthrough ❤
I could not help but to shed some tears at the ending. So happy Gab finished the playthrough to provide an ending for us who followed the series. I played the game myself and encourage others to play as well with all of the interesting side quest/ghost stories. The story in this game is unique, environments gorgeous and voice acting amazing. I hope this game continues to gain more love and support as time moves on.
Such a good series, sad to see it end. Such an emotional ending! Thanks for playing.
Now that you're at the end of banishers main story , maybe you could do a couple Couple videos on interesting side quests
This game is a little diabolical. Murdering everyone gets you a less sad ending but doing the right thing crushes you. And the way they kind of make you take that stand right from the start so you know what you're working to. Definitely one of the more unique stories I've played through recently.
God what a conclusion! Thank you for keeping up this series, I enjoyed it so much x
I love when games can get so many real emotions from someone. I love Gabs even more for being able to show her tears at the end. It makes me want to play my favorite game Spiritfarer even though it makes me cry. It’s okay to cry 🤍 Thank you Gabs for another amazing series
Oh no, this is going to make me cry, isn't it?
Edit: Yeah, that ending made me bawl. This was a great game
I don’t want to say goodbye yet.. 😢
This story is so amazing. I was crying at the end with you Gab. Thank you so much for this playthrough!
I started crying when Deborah was ascending and then I looked up a bit later and Gab was crying, so in the end, I had to watch the ending twice so I could actually watch it without crying.
Thank you for finishing the main story! I was very worried I wouldn't get to see the end of it.
“The time has come and I must go” *instant waterfall eyes*
Sobbed right along with you. What an amazing ending. So well written and the sound design for this game was absolutely incredible.
It was honestly such a beautiful moment not being alone in crying at the end. What a love story. Beautiful game. Really looking forward to what this studio does next.
Yay! Glad to see you finished it. It has been 1 of my favorite playthroughs to watch I was worried you had given up on it.
Right in the feels. Amazing play through. Thank you for completing it and sharing the story with us!
I miss them already 🥺 thank you for playing!🤍
The game play reminds me so much of 2017 God of War in some ways. So sad an ending. Beautiful play-through. Thank you!
NOOOOO NOT THE ENDING😭😭😭😭
I've gone through all sorts of pains but never cried but this.... this broke my heart and it feels good to cry when it comes to thinking about life and death. Thank you for playing this game and sharing this moment with us. Free hug to all!
I knew i was gonna cry at the end but it still hurt just the same :’) these series is definitely on of my favs on your channel, thank you so much for seeing it through to the end gab! Plus I wouldve gone with the same choices as well. Much much love 💘🌷
My god, what a video game......
So moving, you were NOT the only one who full-on cried. It happened at the same time for me. The game is too good, too beautiful, and it chose all the right ways to express and show the scenes. I've not seen such a well crafted presentation and story in a video game in a long while.
The voice acting, the set design, the "cinematography", the pacing, the narrative choices and beats. So high quality. I'm kinda speechless.
Perhaps the one top most measure of a great video game story telling......the ability to bring the player/viewer to tears. Not many things can accomplish that, that's Lord of the Rings levels stuff.
So much authentic gamer mode when folks don't edit out the emotional reactions, if a video game brings out the true strong feelings, it's so good role modelling (and brave) to let it show to viewers, so people know and learn, it's ok to weep or tear up to things, not just huge live events but even moving movies, books, video games. All legit moving.
2:35:40 well of course he did moved on... 'Until death do us apart', it kind of already did. When you are in active grief you think and say different things than years after. Sadness and lounging stays but it evolves, changes, it's not so overwhelming anymore. And she's just... gone. This is actually quite amusing how people can easily imagine the horrors of hell and abyss but can't really tell how ascension looks like. What's there. Thus, Red is still young, charming and handsome. He definitely found someone special who would be his companion and a lover through life.
man, this made me cry like a baby, I love this game so much and I haven't even played it, thanks Gab for finishing the series and I was so heartfelt when I saw you crying, hope you can keep doing this kind of series, I know it took so long but I wish you do a run where you go for the other ending.
Thank you for finishing this amazing series! Loved your playthrough to pieces 🫰🏻
havent watched the video yet, but i just wanted to say that i have enjoyed this series immensely. it was the highlight of the day/the week for my sister and i whenever we saw there was a new banishers video waiting for us to watch while we had dinner. we've been loving the story and your playthrough and commentary has been so much fun to watch! thank you for bringing us along on this fantastic journey!!
I started watching this game with tears and I have ended it the same way. What an amazing game! Thanks for playing through it!
This is such a good game, thank you so much for playing it all the way through!
I was a total mess at the end 😅
Totally the right ending for them! Fully supported that choice.
so sad to see this series end but it was an absolutely amazing ride and I definitely cried the whole video lol thank you so much Gab 23 hours of playtime is no joke!
Such an amazing game, glad I could finally complete watching this series, thank you so much Gab😍...'To grieve deeply is to have loved fully' as such the ending struck me as I ended up sobbing, 'tis beautiful😭... One way or another, it's clear that some celestial or supernatural force is involved in interacting with human confliction causing their pain & sorrow to turn into something dark or twisted like Calendre and Retribution... It's really cool to see mythological ties in this game...
All the sad noises 😔
Really enjoyed this one, great story line!
Thank you so much for finishing this, Gab! Your play through got me and my spouse playing too, it's just so good!
this series has been so nice to watch after work! I have a very physically demanding job so it’s nice to relax to
So... i watched half, then had to go to work... then knowing it was the end... i waited longer.
But i knew i couldn't put it off.
I don't cry easily. But... yeah... tears and sniffles as they said their final farewell.
These characters were so well developed! I became very engrossed in the story.
Such a beautiful game. Such a bittersweet end.
Thanks, Gab. You were the perfect person to walk us through.
Was hanging out in a video call with two of my partners and there was a lull in conversation and I had ten mins left to go on the video so I started watching again, bracing myself not to cry, and then Gab starts crying and I was done for haha Thank you so much for seeing this game through to the end, it had an incredible story (I'm so sorry the combat was so difficult haha) and I'm glad to see its conclusion.
It’s been a while since a game hit me in the feels as hard as this one. Thank you for finishing this amazing series ❤️
Gabさん、おつかれさまでした☕🍰
thank you for this playthrough!! 💕 it was so wonderful to watch, we be sobbing
Thank you so much for playing this game it was so awesome ❤ and the nightmare was really cool 😨
And the ending made me cry too, just such a pain to have the person you love to let go. But as you said, at least they still got to do that. Not all partners can do that to they loved ones 😢
Made me cry too 😢 sacrificed love hurts the most but is all the more blissful in the end
This is my GOTY so far... loved every second I played it. So beautiful. Thank you for finishing this amazing game, Gab!
Thank you for this play through.
I'm so sad that this series is over, but what a great journey it was! I totally cried at the end, damn Don't Nod and their super strength of telling bittersweet stories. Thanks for seeing this series through to the end Gab. 💜 I'm going to miss Red and Antea for quite some time I think.
I was crying with you at the end Gab. 😩 Thank you for seeing this story through to the end. I enjoyed it very much.💜
The title made my heart rate spike for a second… _I knew better_ 😅
i love your playthrough so much! thank you for playing this game, I don't think I would have found it, if it weren't for you.
such a beautiful and sad ending
The tears we shed for longing of a love like that. Thank you so much! Beautiful ending and awesome playthrough! Gab got skillz!
Yeahh, I was definitely crying with you. That was textbook bittersweet. Felt right but so tragic.
I really enjoyed watching you play this game! Thank you for continuing with it!
This game, I enjoyed your reaction, I didn't cry during my ending but I did with yours, thanks for playing Gab. It was so beautiful yet I couldn't bring myself to truly enjoy it. I gave up twice but decided to see it through and the ending was impactful, I was disappointed because I played the game recklessly. I wish I didn't. However, this was SO different and SO cool but man, very repetitive. Whew! We did it though!
My heart, I'm not ready 🥺
I definitely cried as well. That was an epic and beautiful game! Thanks for following through in finishing it👏🏻! I am so glad we went with this ending as well, it was so moving and beautiful! 🥹
Thank you so much for playing this so I could experience it. I criiiiiiiiied. such a great story and game. Thanks Gab!
Thank you so much Gab for an amazing journey. It's been a pleasure to go down this road with you.
Ahhh, I cried with you Gab! Thank you so much for playing this game :).
Who'd have thought you could get soooo caught up in watching somebody play a game.... kudos!
Welp i'm late but I finally got to finish it and I was crying right along with gab, had to set aside the crochet project to get a box of tissues. Great cry, great story, and I felt emotionally better with its finish nothing is better for the soul. Thanks Gab.
Thank you for this Gab! ❤
My heart broke when she cried!
thank you for sharing this game with us, the story was incredible and has absolutely changed me as a person
Loved this game and playthrough so, so much. Red and Antea were so ... real to me. Thank you, Gab
I put off watching this vid for 2 weeks because I was sad for the story to end, but somehow still thought I wouldn't cry. But here I am, tearing up like everyone else in the comments! The ending was really beautifully done, so simple but powerful.
I was sobbing right there with you Gab, that was so precious
The tears were flowing for me at the end. Such a beautiful love story that made saying goodbye that much harder. ❤
I feel like a lot of longer series aren’t doing as well as of recent, and it’s such a shame when a game like this doesn’t receive the attention and praise it deserves. I have loved this series, and am sad to see it’s finished! I’ve purposely put off watching this part for days because then I know it’s over.
You know when a game give you emotion at the end of the journey either happy or sad one, you can tell that is was a good game.
"This thing moves like a shot", what an interesting way to describe ones movement. I like it.
Bittersweet and slightly painful ending. Loved your gameplay and thank you for sharing with us. I cried a lot with you and Red.
This has been such an amazing game, so beautiful, great dialog between the characters, lovely music. I may watch this whole series again. That ending had me in tears. Great game, thank you for playing to the end xxx
What a great game and a fantastic playthrough, Gab. Great action with a truly amazing and complex storyline-way to go to the devs. I also think this would make a great movie if adapted thoughtfully. This is in my top 5 games that you’ve played. Thanks again for playing this (and all) series with your trademark style of thoughtfulness, honest enjoyment, and curiosity. ❤
Sniffling before Gab started and then full on cried when she did.
Crying together with Gab TT
Wonderful story and a beautiful, severely underrated game
I love you for weeping, Evelien. ❤
I’m so happy I’m not the only one who bawled my eyes out at the end of this.
Been a while since i cried at a game 💔
Antea & Red's story was bittersweet
Thank you so much for finishing this game and sharing it with us. I didn’t realize I was crying until I saw you cry and then I *really* started crying XD This game really was a catharsis for all the thoughts and worries i have about grief and accepting it.
Again, thanks for finishing the game even though it wasn’t the most popular on your channel and even though you cried. I can’t imagine letting thousands of ppl watching me cry so um…thank you? For trusting us? Idk what I’m trying to say. Anyway, have a great day!
I honestly loved this game! I'm considering doing a second playthrough. My favorite thing that Red said was "Turn down and turn up". I don't know why, but every time he said that it made me laugh. I received the same ending that you did, I banished a few people in the beginning. I felt so bad banishing them that I ended up changing to the Ascent halfway though. The feels in this game just hit home. If you decide to make another video with side quests I will watch it . Thank you for finishing the game, Gab!
Oh this game hit my heart hard. I was holding out hope that something would bring Antea back without Red breaking his promise. The tears started falling the moment the ascent began then Gab started crying and I was lost. This is such an amazing game! Thank you for showing it to us.
That was such a great ending. Sad to see this playthrough finally come to an end but it was great to watch. Glad Deborah and Antea could get peace.
When gabs cried even i got teary.
