The best version! Through the wind, through the snow, through the drowning rain... (do you know what the rest of the lyrics to that outro?) I'm partially deaf and never could make out ALL of the words!?

The dark blonde girl that he walks out on early in this music video (that's what it is, not parts of a movie) is actress Keri Russell when she was young. She was in a couple of other semi-acting, music video roles around the same time before her acting career took off. She is a good actress.
I think you felt exactly what he was trying to say.....he was in love but kept chasing the exciting party and in the end it ruined everything and he was left alone. It was probably very personal where he had someone in his life he loved but kept getting caught up in the rockstar party and ruined it all.
The song was written for movie called Romeo is Bleeding starring Gary Oldman... hence that line in the song... Jon Bon Jovi hated the movie & pulled the song & later released it on their 1994 Greatest Hits album, Crossroads... its a fictional song. His Bern married to his high school sweetheart for like 40 years or so.
I saw Bon Jovi in concert in 1989 when I was 16 on their New Jersey tour and they were awesome, especially Richie Sambora! I grew up in Anchorage, AK and they were one of only a few bands back then that came up to Alaska so we were psyched. They were only planning one show but they sold out three. Jon could still sing back then and it was a blast. My wife finally saw Bon Jovi in concert just before Covid hit (without Sambora) and Jon’s vocals were crap with every song lowered and not even trying to hit the notes anyway. Sad. Enjoy exploring more Bon Jovi because they are hit machines who pumped out great rockin’ songs and heartfelt ballads. Some additional suggestions for rockin’ songs are Blood on Blood, You Give Love a Bad Name, Livin’ On a Prayer, Runaway, Bad Medicine, Lay Your Hands on Me, I’d Die For You, Blaze of Glory, and Wild in the Streets. Suggestions for ballads are Always, Never Say Goodbye, Born to Be My Baby, I’ll Be There For You, Living in Sin, Bed of Roses, and Someday I’ll Be Saturday Night.

Agree with you, I saw this on release back in the day but now at 47 I feel having a strong side of a relationship is so important but in the video yeah, he cheats on his partner so it does contrast with the lyrics, we do see him maybe being depressed because of that act and you could say the song could be from the view of someone declaring their love for someone so much knowing the mistake they made cost them a lifetime with that person....
