WOW THAT IS A ROOM FULL OF SOME OF THE GREATEST TALANT EVER ON THIS EARTH. WHAT A PLEASURE IT IS TO WATCH IT...AND MR TILIS WHAT A GREAT GUY YOU WERE. GOD BLESS EVERYBODY THEIR..
Thank you for posting! This is amazing... Mel is my second cousin and my house was actually built for his grandmother, my great grandmother. So much Nashville talent, unlike in today's musical landscape.
@@gayledunnhurley3803 That is awesome and sounds like him. He always stayed grounded and always came back to visit his kinfolk here in Florida. I was honored to be a pallbearer at his Florida memorial service, but then got sick right before I was supposed to head to Nashville for the memorial tribute they did at the Ryman.
Gayle Dunn Hurley, thank you for sharing and allowing us to enjoy a most beautiful show. I was serving in Vietnam and other places in the USAF and so this 100% new to me but the stars herein are as familiar as ever. I'm not from Tennessee so I was not familiar with your mother and father; I thought he did well with Glen Campbell singing "The Lovesick Blues"! Tanks again for sharing.
@@gaylehurley8510 and your generosity has made it even better. So many of us grew up with these musical stars and Burt in the 50's and 60's and they seem as like part of our life's experience. A lot of us are in our 70s and 80s and it's a lift to our spirits. Thanks again Gayle, BTW my baby sister, she's 71, is named Gayle and spells it just like you do. God Bless.
For years I looked for a video of this show but found hide nor hair - until now. Thank you for posting! It's a treasure of a document of the music and culture of the time.
Thanks so much for your kind comments. It has been a family treasure and it has taken me forever to get it put on to UA-cam. You are right about it being special. I was there that night and will never forget it.
@@gayledunnhurley3803 would you have any objections if we posted the clip of Glen and your Dad's performance of Lovesick Blues directly on our Facebook page? Naturally we'd give full credit to you. Totally understand if you would rather not. Thank you.
If Burt had concentrated on his career by developing meaningful projects for himself instead of doing heck shows like this, he would have been considered one of the greats.
Isn't there an old song called "Someone's in the kitchen with Dinah?" Is that why they wanted Burt to go in the kitchen with Dinah? I think that was supposed to lead up to the song. This is my own theory by the way.
@@gayledunnhurley3803 Thank you I hoped it was false without Dolly so much would be gone she does so much for a lot of people including children we are pleas with her Love her ❤️❤️❤️
I remember sitting with my dad watching shows like this. The good ole days.
What talent in that room. It is sad that a big part of them have passed on. Even Bert has left us. May they all R.I.P.

Love hearing about your connection to Mel Tillis. The night of the show he gave his guitar to my sister and I will be eternally jealous 😉.
