    ccpp is white because the precursor(raw material) is colorless which is same as white due to absent of two required enzymes C and P. Only one genotype will produce purple color which is CcPp or CCPP that has both of the enzymes. The other three genotypic classes (Ccpp, ccPp, and ccpp) that doesn't have both of the enzymes and only has either one of the enzyme or no enzyme at all, become grouped together with respect to phenotype and express no color(the color of precursor) which is white. so yes she is correct ccpp produce white color which is same as no color of the precursor.

      ccpp codes the precursor i.e. white. In ccPp also it codes white. Then why shouldn't it get into purple as it has the dominant P?

      @@MdNuman-ij1fu no it won't produce purple color because it is a case of complementary genes so when both the dominant genes are present together then only a purple-colored flower will be produced.

    In complementary gene interaction when two dominant alleles come together in F1 then they express themselves resulting in the formation of new phenotypic trait. But when they are away from each other there expression is masked by the recieve alleles, a phenomenon called as duplicate recessive epistatis. Therefore, Bateson and Punnet crossed two varieties of Latharus odoratus CCpp x ccPP they were both white and their F1 yielded CcPp (Purple
    flowers a new phenotypic trait). The F2 offspring were in the ratio 9 purple : 7 white.

    how is ccpp white although c is not dominant

    • @abraryasin3310
      @abraryasin3310 7 років тому +2

      Monojit Bhattacherjee
      it is not ccpp, it is ccPP. here cc is epistatic to PP, cc is masking the effect of PP allel. Thus plants with ccPP alleles will also produce white flowers. However cc is recessive to CC and CC itself is recessive to PP. so when a cross is made between CCpp (White flower) x ccPP (White Flower , as cc is epistatic to PP that is why it has white flower too). In F1 we will get CcPp (purple flower) becoz here C is dominant over c, make it unable to have epistatic effect on P. However, C itself is recessive to P, therefore the purple colour we get in F1 is due to presence of PP alleles. Complementary gene action is therefore also called as Duplicate Recessive Epistasis

    Didn't Understand Why ccPP Or ccPp Will Be White Bcoz First Enzyme Produces White And Both Purple, But In This Case There Is Only Second Enzyme Not First, Also Confused Why ccpp Will Be White Because Enzymes Are Absent But White Chromagen Requires Atleast Cc Enzyme

      Colour less also means white so chromagen and raw material is white tho they say colour less.... She forgot the mention it but it's there in my book

    How is ccpp white coz enzyme 1 is absent so raw materials dont form chromagen....so the flowers should be transparent or something?

      @someone8987 6 років тому
