Great video, love to see trains in the snow, done it my myself on the LIRR many years ago, catching an express on a small little station heading west, got almost buried by it, but was worth it.
snow builds up in the horn, causing it to sound that way. the mbta commuter rails have protective screens over their horns to keep out the snow. the Acela and some other trains have their horns placed underneath them...
The K5LA horn most likley had snow in it the bells. As being an Owner of a horn Ive found out that some of the bells wont sound as they should when stuff is in the way..

@@andrewcrane2786 you can’t exceed the speed limit without the safety systems automatically stopping the train. if anything, it was going less than the speed limit.

Amtrak needs to do winter promotional commercials to show how reliable they are in the snow all over the country.

@trinityct that is actually 942. The snow could've easily been a factor since these horns don't have bonnets to protect from snow or dirt.
