I find I underhydrate on cooler days. On warm days, drinking helps keep you cool, so when it’s cooler you don’t feel the need as much, but it is JUST AS IMPORTANT!
Encourage everyone in your group to use the bathroom at the same time. This is hard with kids because they don’t want to take the time to go but as soon as you get in line for a ride you will hear, “I’ve got to go!”
Good tip. But another idea, is for everyone to go when the kids go. Then everyone is with the kids. Perhaps then the kids will go when everyone wants to go.
I was shaking, crying and having a panic attack so I put this video on to distract me so I can calm down. Thank you for helping me and telling me every video I'm not a failure because I struggle. Your videos help so much. Stay hydrated!
As a Very Pale Person, I can’t agree more with #2! No matter the day, use that sunscreen. We tend to be mostly indoor creatures, so an extended day outside no matter the season can lead to a sunburn of some level. When I attend parks, I set my alarm on my phone for two hour intervals to make sure I stay slathered and safe.
Bring a water bottle with you to the park. That way you can use the water fountain or water bottle filling station to refill instead of having to pay for water at the parks.
I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your messages of encouragement and telling us how important we are. I really needed to hear that today, thank you so much. You, Amanda and Miles are very important to us too ❤
Oh my goodness!!! Staying hydrated really is key to a fun time. I can appreciate your many reminders and the awesome encouraging message. I get a little teary eyed because I know if you two could you would give everyone who watches a big hug. P.S. Amanda, I really appreciate your awesome tips too. So refreshing. You guys are like a Disney power couple ♥️
Also I can't believe how many people you ran into when you were making this stream or video that knew your stream that was amazing and you guys are awesome too.
To stay hydrated you can also bring refillable bottles and you can get ice for free at the food places and there are a lot of the water fountains that will fill the bottles.
With all of the hydrate talk, my mind was thinking bathrooms, bathrooms, bathrooms. Can you do a video on the best bathroom locations in Disneyland and DCA? Also the beset water bottle refill stations?
Hydration is a good point. To that bring a hydration back pack. You can carry a lot of water, snacks, sunscreen, poncho, souvenirs, etc. I carried diaper changing stuff for my kids. Worked great! Also would add sunglasses and a hat. It's sunny California.
I Love that you tell everyone that you have to hydrate all the time. It really is important. Especily if you're not used to heat. Also, I've never seen the Mickey treads so thank you for that fun trivia this time. ❤
We usually keep frozen bottles of water in our backpack. Not only does it provide cold water for us to drink, but the cold bottles sit against our back, keeping us a bit cooler.
We bring Camelbacks hydro packs filled with water and ice. Just keep adding water from the restaurants and water stations. Saves money on drinks and keeps your family hydrated.
I like the plot twist between 9, 7, 5, 3, and 1. I kept saying “hydrate” for 9, 7, 5, and 3 because I knew it was coming so I said “hydrate” again for 1 because Zi thought that you were gonna say hydrate again but the plot twist got me.
Your encouragement statements are always so wonderful and heartfelt. When I am having a rough day I go out to one of you videos and l watch the one, two or 3 of you and you brighten my day and bring a smile to my face.
I can vouch for the cooling towels. You can get them cheaper almost anywhere, but I love my pink Disney cooling towel. I have been using mine for about four years. I have to! I have been hospitalized for heat stroke four times. The first time, the doctors said to never let it happen again because it could kill me. They didn't lie, but each episode after the first one was not as bad. Actually, I have had worse episodes but there wasn't anyone around to transport me to the hospital. But I have never got heat sick with a cooling towel on my head. I hold it in place with a hat that shields my eyes, too. Don't forget to re-wet the towel occasionally throughout the day. I also use a lot of sun screen and encourage my kids to use it. And their kids, too!
Make sure to wave at us through the windows at the Trolley Kitchen in DCA, Marceline’s in DTA, and the Candy Palace on Main Street! We are there to make candy but also to interact with you!!!
Love love love this vid and meeting you, Amanda, and Myles will always be on the top of my highlighted Bucket List. You save me all the time and remind me there's always hope, and of course there's the Dad Jokes. Love you all, MJ Henderson😅😅
I was feeling a little down today, but after watching your positive video about my happy place and reminding me that I am special, it brightened my day. I love your channel. 💛
You can walk into pretty much any restaurant in the park and ask for a free cup of water and they will gladly give you one. They also will let you bring reusable water bottles in the park which I highly recommend.
Oh yes! Sunscreen is one of the most important things to have during a summer Disneyland day. I have very sensitive skin and I have to make sure that I continue to keep putting sunscreen on throughout the day. I have been to Disneyland many times during the summer and I can't emphasize this information as well. Every time I see you all on these videos, it brings such joy and happiness to my life. To be honest, I love Chris and Amanda equally so much
Hello Chris! Me and my family are big big fans and will officially be in Disneyland this Wednesday, we'll be looking out for you and hopefully we get to say hi!!
First you and your wonderful and Amazing wife Amanda...love you guys. Hydration story...I made a mistake and did not hydrate enough and I am an older guy...I was inline for Grizzly River Run with my adult son and started to feel week..I got out of the line and went to the front and just sat on the entrance rock thingy...the cast members came up and helped me real fast...then another cast member brought me a bottle of water and they let me sit their for a while to recoupe... I now have a water bottle made by Brita..and this is not a commercial for them but it really is great. it has a water filter built into it and the water comes out like bottled water...no clorine taste or anything...now..they need to put water bottle fill stations at every drinking fountain. Thank you again mr Amazing because you are wonderully amazing.
Great advice! We always spray on sunscreen before we get dressed for the day, it saves so much hassle. We all wore hats with 2-3 in brims to be sure our ears and necks were covered mostly. Brought cooling towels with us to the parks and took shade breaks. Drank water continuously and only drank ice water with meals. Hydration and heat safety cannot be emphasized enough. Neck fans as well as hand fans, too.
Suggestion on sunscreen: if you wear sandals on your feet, don’t forget to slather the tops of your feet with sunscreen. I have had 3rd degree sunburn on the tops of my feet and it’s not fun!
Omg that's awful! I got 2nd degree burns on my 1st trip to Knott's Berry Farm. My feet were already screaming because I have plantar fasciitis. This combo had me in tears and the next day we had to have a bonus beach/relax day because I could barely walk. I've since learned to not male that mistake again AND to get the scooter. Saved my bacon.
It was terribly painful. I got it at WDW on day 3 of our 2-week vacay at WDW. I ended up in quick care and had bandaged feet and velcro sandals the whole time. I was on an ECV so the sun literally beat the snot out of my poor hoofies. I got it again at Disneyland a year ago but only on my ankles. I thought I had enough coverage but my ankles weren’t covered. Funny thing is I didn’t burn anywhere but my feet.
We were amazed how chilly it was this week! We brought all these shorts and couldn’t wear them. June weather is amazing. Crowds were insane Mon-Wed. Those high school graduates were everywhere. Sat and sun were pretty dead. Great advice on the schedule, Chris. We did the early morning rides, rest time afternoon, back for evening fun. We used Genie and DAS and our longest wait was 20 min. The neck fans were great. We just ordered from Amazon or they are now selling them at Walgreens. We used it once or twice in a hot line.
last time i was in disneyland in september, i wasn't drinking enough water, i was dripping sweat and feeling meh so i finally had to keep buying more and more bottle of water, one i had to pour a little over my head in batuu
Hi Chris, for sure it’s hot at Disneyland & crowded. Lol I can’t do rope drop anymore, kudos to your family for being there early. Yes, those fans are awesome.
Although the temperature was comparable to where I am in Oregon the UV index is higher in California so it’s easy to feel overheated even if you don’t think it’s “that hot”. A hat helps!!!!
Hi Chris you forgot to mention bring your own water bottle or reuse a water bottle and use the filtered refillable water bottle fountains that are all around the park
Hi Chris. You answered my question with # 3 tip. Canoe bring your own water bottle into the parks? Bonus tip is to wear a cap ( can be used as a fan and put water on cap so it can used like the towel). We are WAY better than the Death Wheel of Disney. Keep having FUN on all your Adventures.
yes hydrating is super important! also, idk if you're allowed to take them into Disneyland Resort but electrolyte packets are also super helpful for staying hydrate!
Absolutely agree be prepared for the heat and hydrate!! Yes it's different from WDW as we don't have the humidity in California like Orlando does, but I have been at Disneyland when it was 107 degrees and not pleasant!!!!! Lots of people get hauled out of Disneyland by EMT because of passing out or getting badly dehydrated. Thanks Chris!! Oh yeah and sunscreen too! Double thanks for the reminder!
This is really great to know! Our family started watching (and following) your videos this past March to prepare ourselves for a day at Disney at the end of March. We are actually going back this coming week, 3 days to be in fact and these tips are exactly what we need. We do get a little too excited and forget to stay hydrated. Thank you for all the videos!
Great tips vid, allow me to add on. Bring a thermal jug, fill with ice, it'll stay cold all day and save money. We bring 1/2 gal. Easy to store in stroller or in backpack.
I can't believe you spent all of that time talking about making your Disney experience better, but you never mentioned keeping hydrated! C;mon, pal...get it right! (Hahahahahaha!...another great, fun, and informative video...! Keep 'em coming!!)
It would be cool and fun to do a video about the cats at Disneyland. I remember going there and seeing a few sleeping on top of the archway when you enter Disneyland
Hi I hope you guys are doing well and that everything is going well for you guys and I hope you guys have a happy week and I hope you guys had a good weekend. Also you so right about your tips when I go outside during summer time you should do this any time go outside but especially summertime you should always hydrate wear sunblock for a shirt that covers as much as your skin as possible where I had and sunglasses and stays try and keep do stuff to keep you cool outside and maybe try and stand in shady areas or stay inside as much as possible if you don't need to be outside especially during summer time 🌴☀️🌞🍦🌊🏝️🏖️🍨🍧. I have always done the tips you're recommending cuz I live somewhere hot and I have very fair skin then if I stay out in the sun too long I wouldn't get a tan I would get a burn which is why I always wear sunblock if I'm going to be out for a long time but I tried to avoid going outside too much Especially during summer time it's just hot 🥵 to want to go outside that's just my opinion. If you like going that's fine but I highly recommend following these tips and try to stay safe outside. Also I hope you guys had fun on this trip and I hope you have fun on your next trip whenever you go on another trip.
Thank you so much for these videos! My teen and I are both autistic and I was so nervous taking him by myself because I was terrified of the chaos and how to navigate the park when I also have hearing problems. We went at rope drop and waited to use our Genie + like you suggested and never waited longer than 20 min both times we rode Pirates, the ride my son was most excited about. We found the shortcuts and quiet spots when we needed to get away from people. It was a perfect day thanks to you and your tips! We were able to have a great day at Universal too! We appreciate you so much!
Chris, I can't believe you forgot the MOST important tip for visiting Disneyland in the summer. HYDRATE! 😉 Seriously, I learned that the hard way once.
Disney sells awful water that has salt in it and makes you More thirsty & it's no better than tap water. Bring a reusable water bottle and use the hydrate mix packets. There's water bottle refill stations in practically every land.
My secret is to take all of the wash cloths at the hotel, ask for extra, and wet them down roll them up so they’re small little snakes and put them in individual Ziploc bags. Or your favorite reusable freezer bag? Then in the morning, throw them in your backpack, mid day when you’re extremely hot, you can take one of them out for each member of your group and they are still very cold. So they cool you off and allow you to wipe down from sweat. We try to have two options for each person in our party. So if there’s four of us we bring eight frozen washcloths per day. You just have to make sure that the hotel you’re staying at hasn’t moved away from having the little freezers, and is now only using drink refrigerators. This is a new trend I’ve seen at Disney World.
Every time that you or Amanda tell us how special we are, I cry a little bit. Bless you and your wife Chris.
Love you
Agree 100%. Keeps me sane.
Totally
I find I underhydrate on cooler days. On warm days, drinking helps keep you cool, so when it’s cooler you don’t feel the need as much, but it is JUST AS IMPORTANT!

After a ride Go pee then go get in line for something else

I was shaking, crying and having a panic attack so I put this video on to distract me so I can calm down. Thank you for helping me and telling me every video I'm not a failure because I struggle. Your videos help so much. Stay hydrated!
The cooling towels work so good.
Yes they do
People unfamiliar with SoCal don't realize the intensity of the sun. Hydrate folks! And hat.
Hiya Chris!!!! Do you know why Mickey never worries about the summer heat? He’s always surrounded by his “fans”!!! 😊 Remember to hydrate, everyone!
Hahahahahahaha 🤣🤣💚💙

GREAT tips Chris! June 6th is National YoYo day, but you probably knew that. Michael from Houston, TX.
I’ve used getaway today since my honeymoon in 2005. They are amazing and always do my Disney trips through them!
I like the plot twist between 9, 7, 5, 3, and 1. I kept saying “hydrate” for 9, 7, 5, and 3 because I knew it was coming so I said “hydrate” again for 1 because Zi thought that you were gonna say hydrate again but the plot twist got me.

I highly suggest adding a hydration multiplier, like Liquid IV or Electrofy, to your water. 😊
Another benefit to drinking plenty of water is you'll typically eat healthier as you'll be eating less in the parks
Sweet 💚💚💙💙👍
As someone that has gone to WDW many times, I agree with hydrate. Most adults with any sense at all know that they should drink lots of water.
Water and Gatorade are great ways to hydrate. You need those electrolytes as well. Also remember a hat and sunscreen.
I didn’t plan on drinking any water on my next trip. This changed my mind thank you 😂
You’re welcome 😊

A great PSA. A very entertaining and effectively repetitive way of restating the obvious. Enjoyed it. Well done.
I love the moment of encouragement at the end. I weirdly really needed that!

HIGHLY recommend bringing your own water bottle - you can refill in lots of spots in the parks and you save money and help the planet!
