The VST's are Formidable to all these workstations they are getting better, and better. Right now the Modeling, Samples has been the best it has ever been. When you are listen to your favorite what ever who sits around and says that was 24 bit 192k, that's Roland, Korg, Yamaha, Kurzweil. No one.... No one. I have them all because, I gives me options to keep pushing Greater! Yes there are cons and pros, how much better is better, who cares about which is better. Guess you better forget it, Korg is falling way behind in keeping up with costumer support. Karma Kronos software is not supported in Win 10 2004 update, dev is not even planning to upgrade... Korg hasn't bothered to release an x64 version of Kronos editor software for windows, so you get a literally 1x1 inch dimension window in windows 10... I had the first edition kronos 88 key back in 2012. Had to sell because of financial issues. Lord I miss this beast! Again we soon will meet! Love you Korg!
I fear with all the VSTs out there now and MIDI keyboards, Korg making another flagship keyboard is out the window. As much as I love the Kronos, it's OLD and dated! It's not even 64 bit!!! The innards are parts from 2008, and the OS looks like something from 1982. I really hope one day Korg recognizes there will ALWAYS be a market for people who don't want to always rely on VSTs. Yes, they are great for studio work, but I really don't feel like getting another whole setup for use of VSTs while playing gigs. Besides, I wouldn't trust I wouldn't have latency issues if playing with VSTs live. KORG, PLEASE CREATE A TRUE KRONOS SUCCESSOR!!!!!!
Put your VST’s on an SSD and it may work better for you. My desktop has my VST’s on a platter hard drive (WD Black 7200rpm) and they stutter sometimes. My laptop, not as powerful as my desktop, has the VST’s on solid state drives and they play without a hitch.
@@killerdoxen Mine are on a regular hard drive. However, I have since dialed it in, and I use the Focusrite drivers instead of ASIO4ALL and no more stutter. :-)
It's the workflow that counts for me ... It has its huge advantages, it's light years ahead of working with computers (composing style...), if you know how to play an instrument of course and you don't need 120 tracks ... I would lost my idea a 1000 times if I was working with computer software ... Sometimes seconds matter ... And an overall feel, inspirational element ... You can't always look for a daily news and make a great song on a same device ... And you can do the rest sterile work on computer later ...
It's about workflow and creating ideas fast ... You can give a computer to a monkey and nothing happens. Too much options and rigid workflow kills the great idea in the start. That's a computer. Good for everthing, not so good for a specific task. I use Kronos for the core of the song, idea and complex mixing that would make your life a living hell if you do it on computer (it would crash probably ... 100%.). Than when it's time "to go slow" I use computer's strong points - lots of options, mastering, sampling etc. Think of Kronos like a navy seal unit, and computer like an army.
That’s not true. The screens they use are simple but what’s even simpler is Nords screens and instead of giving you direct access to everything you have to use buttons and knobs. The technology they use is still manageable and useable in any setting. You can even hook up other software to use more sounds with Omnisphere and enhance what it already has even more.
The video starts with a simple overview, and then becomes better and better and totally awesome as you watch further ! You will see why Sweetwater chose Mr. Jacob Dupre for this presentation. X🤘🏻X

Lordtunes World exactly. Stage 3 is old news. When they release their new stage, he could be their first call. Looking at their product cycle it’s most likely a stage 3 EX.
my beef with the color is you cant see the text when the light gets a bit funky or a bad angle, black or white. kromeEX is the same color silver with white lettering, what were they thinking. I seriously am going to have to print the text on clear sticky paper with the laser printer to fix that. edit: The bodies should either be black or white with opposite color text is what i am saying here lol. dealing with lighting is the real game. If I was king of korg, i would have a glowing case behind bold black letters. It would just be white with black letters in the sun, but once night falls it lights up
I m a musician on worship team service. I like korg keyboard products ,but since kronos model went out for about 10years. It seem like sound engines are the same and never change as much. It is bored . I will stick with old model and pick up with yamaha modx. I think it is worth for every penny.
Korg could really innovate by licensing the OTTO efx engine from Ensoniq, which had the most amazing effects algs ever (I've never heard 2+ minute 'infinite' reverbs elsewhere). It's only available in aging ASR-10 or DP/2 or DP/4 units, never heard anything like it since. Woud be a shame if no one ever remodelled it in modern hardware.

IK&S Nice. I have a Roland Jupiter-X for VA sound design since it’s versatility. Leads and Brass but I mostly use it for leads. Man everybody has their strengths and weaknesses which is what makes the music baby!!!
Whenever you're put off by lack of inspiration and ask yourself why the heck am I not selling the Kronos, watch this demo and you'll change your mind .
As a newbie to these kinds of synths can all the midi tracks be exported to a DAW so that you could sequence with other stuff in your DAW. Ie develop your track in the workstation and then export it (not rendered but as raw MIDI that can be played back through the Kronos) ?
@@killerdoxen So you can get the MIDI and CC's and play back exactly through the Kronos ? The reason I asked is because there is a lot of dynamic control on the Kronos and want to understand if that's all captured with MIDI CC's too.
@@GodzillaGoesGaga looking at page 523 of the parameter guide of the Kronos, while in sequencer mode it will record the control data as well as the midi notes. You can find the parameter guide here if you don’t have it yet. www.korg.com/us/support/download/product/0/424/
I got the SE 88 Kronos 2 last year (Red one). How is this version different other than color? Additional sounds? More combinations? If any new sounds, can it be downloaded or added to my SE88 Kronos2? I like this Titanium color too because I also have the Triton Studio 88 and it makes a match for my studio. Thanks in advance!
Hello! Korg has been making the Kronos for many years now, and while the hardware and software of the keyboards have changed with the pace of computer technology (processor speed and memory have improved drastically) Korg has maintained an operating system that has always been backwards compatible. Essentially, while a newer Kronos might have more potential memory, more sounds, and more effects built into it, it can run the same operating system and operate very similarly as an original Kronos from nearly 10 years ago. That answer is a bit vague, but to know exactly how your Kronos compares to this one, you may have to dig into the specs of each keyboard's sound libraries. That being said, what I'm saying is that the two will likely work indistinguishably from the other. Here is where you go to download any available Kronos sounds: www.korg.com/us/news/2019/0718/ If you'd like to go into more detail, please call my number below. Thanks for your interest! Nick LaMendola, Senior Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1660, nick_lamendola@sweetwater.com
Is it then possible to build your own tracks to record a song more complex than just 16 tracks inicially available on this CRONOS...??? If so, I suppose that you in that case, are allowed to "integer" those adicional tracks to the basic 16 ones that this unit got from the beginning in some mixing technique... Am I right...??? Thanks in advance for the answer... (Real good job...!)
The thing is that even with the best VSTs on the market you can't do everything what you can do in this beast all in one place. They nearest thing I've seen to this is Omnisphere... And it still lacks drum, karma and Strings engine.
I'm amazed that they're still selling this. Intel doesn't even sell the old Atom processor any more that the Kronos still uses. And the only real improvement in this model is the inclusion of the new "Italian Piano" from the Korg Grandstage. This really looks like a run-out model. I'd buy a used one, or wait six months and see if there is a Kronos 3 at NAMM.
@@jgh548 You wouldn't say that about your PC or phone. The CPU affects everything that the instrument can do and limits the processing available. Yes, except for boot time, the Kronos does a good job of masking its limitations, but it's still a 10-year-old CPU. I'm sure that when it's refreshed, we'll see just how much difference the additional power makes.
I am surprised that korg are still pushing this out, i have been expecting korg to have had the number 3 out long before now, and start to show something new.

Lordtunes World what do you mean? What would be the point of of having another demo of the stage 3? There’s hundreds of them
I gotta practice more! Lol. Great video and info. Thx for sharing. 👍🎹😃
...I have already got this kronos..trying to learn about this...thnx...thnx...
Amazing 🤩
my beef with the color is you cant see the text when the light gets a bit funky or a bad angle, black or white. kromeEX is the same color silver with white lettering, what were they thinking. I seriously am going to have to print the text on clear sticky paper with the laser printer to fix that. edit: The bodies should either be black or white with opposite color text is what i am saying here lol. dealing with lighting is the real game. If I was king of korg, i would have a glowing case behind bold black letters. It would just be white with black letters in the sun, but once night falls it lights up
I still think the Roland RD2000 is the best keyboard hands down!
keyboard of my dreams one day I get there
Coolest feature is the glowing led in the middle of the R in KORG. :)
Sounds pretty awesome 👌
Was that the Sesame Street theme? 🤣. Love it. Really enjoying this.
This looks pretty sweet. Sounds like something I want in my studio
What!?!? That ultra wide pad is so sick
Still waiting for Kronos 3 😀
Yea, they just keep rebranding with new colors.
Lol.. Ikr??
Still waiting ✌️
My favorite keyboard
What about Indian tones. We would love to listen them
Very few. It’s possible someone has put together some Indian expansion modules. Check out www.shop.korg.com and look under Kronos Sound Libraries.
I've dreamt a long time about getting the right keyboard for songwriting. This is it. I'm not sure if they sell this still though. I hope so.
Valhalla has an infinite reverb also my MPC One has an endless reverb effect
Omg those Ensoniq fx were awesome, very warm sounding reverbs. What a shame that the company folded!
Very nice!!!
Un mostro 🎹👍🎶🎹
I want to see a new Kronos 2 for 2022 to step things up. ITS TIME KORG.......................
18:33 Synth sound used in Mj's 'Another part of me' intro. Fantastic tones on this one and your playing is amazing too..!
Almost went for one but I decided to go with the Nord Stage 3
Good decision. The Kronos is nice looking crap. The UI and workflow is torture.
Lol opposite boat man almost bought a Nord Stage 3 but got a Kronos
@@isaacfanai2006 I'm fortunate to have the NS 3 Compact...Korg Kronos LS 88 & Korg Grand 88...Each have their place...but I prefer the NS3 Compact Key Bed.
Roger Guttromson I needed the layering ability and sound design of the Kronos. But my ideal rig would be a NS3 on the bottom and a Kronos 61 as my top board
IK&S Nice. For me personally I had a Montage 8 sound designing is my thing but not too deep like all these FM Synthesis and stuff so I felt like it was a waste of use so why not trade it for someone to use it and take care of it better than I do. Went with a Nord Stage 3 cause it’s straight forward no menu diving and can make more money gigging and travelling cause of the weight and quality. I have a Roland Jupiter-X for VA sound design since it’s versatility. Leads and Brass but I mostly use it for leads. Man everybody has their strengths and weaknesses which is what makes the music baby!!!
Mankind is evolving.
Very nice..
Were can i get the new sounds for mine?
This guy just became my favorite by playing Concerning Hobbits
The internal speakers sound amazing!
Doesn’t have internal speakers. Requires external amplification/speakers.
Thk you I am From Indonesia
the next Kronos2blue
Another year no major Korg Kronos upgrade or replacement.
Very good player
Wow what a kronos .
Amazing sound
what a monster it is?! 22:10
Whenever you're put off by lack of inspiration and ask yourself why the heck am I not selling the Kronos, watch this demo and you'll change your mind .
I prefer the roland rd2000 hands down.
That's debatable in my opinion.
What speaker are you using? I have a kronus 2 88 key and was thinking of getting a roland 4way (piano mike guitar and input) keyboard speaker?
Excellent
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
it is better than nord stage 3 ?always wanted to buy the nord stage 3 more appeared a buying opportunity this keyboard is worth ?
As a newbie to these kinds of synths can all the midi tracks be exported to a DAW so that you could sequence with other stuff in your DAW. Ie develop your track in the workstation and then export it (not rendered but as raw MIDI that can be played back through the Kronos) ?
You’d get the raw midi data, but not the actual sounds from the Kronos.
It should replay the CC data as it was recorded. The sequencer can even switch the instruments a track will use on the fly.
Here is where you go to download any available Kronos sounds: www.korg.com/us/news/2019/0718/

Sounds great. How much does this keyboard cost?
Looking at $3900 regular price. Sweetwater has them for $500 off right now.
How can I get the Italian grand sample into my Kronos 2?
what keyboard stand are you using here for Korg Kronos 88 TI Limited Edition?
I want to buy the stand........
I want one!!!
Eu tenho o Korg Kronos 2 Gold !!! Esse instrumento é fantasticooooo!!!
I have one dought this kronos titanium comes with kapro showcase Inside
Does The Unlimited Kronos Have The Same Feature?
They are really riding this Kronos thing...are we at 10 years yet? It’s gotta be close.
The thing is that even with the best VSTs on the market you can't do everything what you can do in this beast all in one place. They nearest thing I've seen to this is Omnisphere... And it still lacks drum, karma and Strings engine.
I don't think the triton got that is long of a run if i am right.
@@edrumsense I was told korg workstations always did everything.
What difference does the age of the processor make? This thing is still more capable than rival workstations, even though the UI could use a refresh.
It is unequalled. For now.
How does Kronos Fare against Montage and Fantom?
Korg, I want a Kronos Lite. And I'm not talking about the Krome EX.
They would tell you to buy the Krome EX.
@@TylerLore See that's the correct answer, but I want something that challenges the MODX.
@@tonylancer7367 also the Roland FA
@@BRJHA80 Nah, that's an XV5080 with Supernatural sounds, and that isn't bad in itself.
Krrome EX is the lite version of the Kronos
