This was the theme park I went to a lot as a kid, it was good then but now it’s horrible! Used to be so good but they got rid of good rides and have not really updated it in years
Yeah I went there a lot when I was younger but then changed and went to Drayton manor a lot, the water ride is still closed after the girl passed away at Oakwood, I don’t get why they just close the park temporarily and fix the ride and the safety measures even though the girl died to standing up as it was going down and she fell off, they could add reinforced seatbelts or can even remove the ride
Oakwood used to be brilliant when I was a child/teen, it was bought out a few years back now and it's gone very downhill since then which is a massive disappointment. As a roller coaster enthusiast Megafobia will always be one of the best wooden coasters in Europe, not to mention Speed was the first more then vertical drop coaster in the UK at the time. I know the UK theme park enthusiasts official group still meet and camp there for the summer meet up. It used to have a lot of money invested but since new owners and the Hydro/Drenched accident it's never been the same :/ can't believe they don't even bother to fill the water anymore.

A girl died on the first ride that you approached, Hydro, the one without water. She got her coat stuck in her buckle clip so it didn't click and fasten properly 😔 The ride was closed for a good while but is open again now. 40mins away from Oakwood where we are. Great memories as a kid
i live near Oakwood, and I'm going there with my friends next week 😭😭 and in primary school if you got into cross country you got to run around the field beside it edit : UPDATE!! i went today, it was sooo fun!! i went on the water slides and tree tops so many times. megaphobia is amazing the drop is soo scary lol the other rides are also really good! :))

The first ride that you see Hydro was closed due to a Girl dying due to falling out of the car. I've been here when I was a little girl and I never forget when this happened, we never went back, you guys should go to Folly Farm! 😂
My best friend got tested positive so now I have self isolate and I watch ur videos otherwise I get really sad and cry alot so thanks for bringing me joy :)
Guys. Everything down this way is underfunded, struggling. It's south west Wales. Oakwood doesn't get enough foot fall for it to do well. Years back it was amazing. All theme parks are over priced and food has always been over priced.
Honestly when I was younger about 10 me and my friends always went to and all the rides were open and everything.. but since COVID it’s been terrible. I also remember that in October they opened up Halloween town and it was so fun they had witch hunt house of mirrors, trampolines and huge rides and as a 10 year old it was quite fun
Didn’t know if anyone knew this but a girl actually died here as the straps on water ride at the start was not on right and she flew out and fell to her death
It was in 2004 and the boat got redone to have different restraints, also she undid her seatbelt to put her coat on which is a stupid thing to do especially only with a seatbelt and lap bar at the time

The first rollercoaster was shut down due to a girl getting killed in 2004 , it was still closed when I went there when I was like 10 even though I’m now 17, I went there was a child and I can say it was terrible the only ride that was worth it was speed but it was really short 💀

I went to Oakwood 7 years ago on a school trip and the first ride was shut down out of all the rides I liked megaphobia the most even though it seemed a bit unstable.
I think this is a decent park, definitely should be a bit cheaper and could do with a repaint all over, It has a few fun rides like speed and I think it is a great day out for a family. Overall I rate it 4 stars.

After her death, they did fix the ride and rebranded it. They just don't always turn it on.

Love this series and the pontins one was where I stayed for 4 nights but mostly went to the Prestatyn beach and arcade 😂😂
