All these years i've been watching John do Rig Rundowns, never knew he could play, much less this good, lol. I thought he was a sales tech. Nice little hybrid, need one now.
I seldom utilize the clean of any amp but the cleans you dialled outta that tiny pocket sized monster Vox MV50, they sounded tasty like fresh baked breads right outta ovens.
As soon as I start hearing John play my hand ruahes to the thumbs up button, can't help it. PS: playing a beatles song wearing a rolling Stones t-shirt... that's bad ass, lol
I honestly would not put this up against my AC30HW2. But it does sound very good in its own right. I would definitely consider taking one along as a backup.
@@ryanteacher8134 yes, they dont, but they have a nice spring reverb and tremolo.. this is a hybrid construction, there is no way they couldn't put some reverb chip or a loop after the nutube preamp and before the transistor poweramp.
Just buy a boss tremelo and the rv5 and you're golden. I mean this thing is under 300 bucks. Sounds incredible in person for the price. It actually replaced my ac15 head....
Hello, When connecting line out to PA, do you suggest a cabinet simulation DI box (hughes Kettners Red box)? or does this already have amp modeling so I would just use a regular DI box, then XLR to PA system. Thanks.
At 4 ohm, you get the full 50 watts. Good chance the speakers will break up if really cranked. I doubt really cranking would be necessary, though. I run my MV50 “Clean” through an 8 ohm speaker, which cuts it to 25 watts. I barely turn it up to half, and it’s more than loud enough for any venue I’ve used it on so far!
Tried one in a big store, guy set it up and just left us to noodle in booth, totally unimpressed sounded like a cheap fuzz pedal, my mate went back a few weeks later and got a better demo, bought one and stuck it after his Boss GT board direct out into p.a.and his sound is now amazing ! so obviously we had it set wrong to start with, the small speaker is not worth having but the amp really does the job.
Love your arrangement of Within you without you, it's like the slide guitar kinda approximates the sarod (I know there was no sarod in the original, but cool take on indian/western fusion)

Seriously? John’s a killer guitarist.
I have it mounted to my pedalboard. For size and sound, you couldn't find a better apartment amp or pedal platform. 10/10 product!
I was thinkin’ just as you !! (Because it’s got that bug clunky power surge / battery part that WILL get lost if not Velcro’d to your pedalboard 🤟)
I could listen to John play for days on end.. Amazing as always
GREAT PLAYING..... love the Within You Without You slide piece !!!!!!!!
I've got this model and think it's great
lando27music does it really sound like a valve amp in person?
Lando27Music @
@@psychojackjack2139 yes
sounds great. sweet picking John
Within you without you. Beatles. GTFO. Brilliantly done.
Some sweet playing on those clean tones John.
HEY JOHN it looks so funny sitting on top of that mesa cab!
That Within you, without you passage was beautiful. Holy crap, man.
Excellent demo John. Tasty playing. Thanks. Beautiful fat sound from the Sweetcaster too.
My dad owns the Vox MV50 Ac. sounds great, loud & light af!
👌
what speaker cab is he using?
@@AGB-vy2ci Why?

8:34 somebody actually bought one
EMONEMO hahahahahahahhahahhhhhah
How do I plug my air guitar into it? My speak cab still weighs 6 tons. My AC 50 head doesn't weigh near what the speak weigh.
well done John!
Great review as always

love that Gibson doublecut
within you without you
Nice review., I wasn't really sure about this amp when I first heard about them, but now I might have to consider checking one of these out. Thanks.
I honestly would not put this up against my AC30HW2. But it does sound very good in its own right. I would definitely consider taking one along as a backup.
If this thing only had an effects loop...... damn.
Yeah, or at least some reverb..
I agree. I'd buy one in a heart beat if they did. But real ACs don't even have effects loop, right?
@@ryanteacher8134 yes, they dont, but they have a nice spring reverb and tremolo.. this is a hybrid construction, there is no way they couldn't put some reverb chip or a loop after the nutube preamp and before the transistor poweramp.
it's a real shame

Thanks.
the amp has cab simulation. You can run straight to the board.
John Bohlinger thanks!
See my post, yes it really does the biz.
Those buckers are hummin'. Sounds great. Got a demo of the "Rock" head?
Within without you.I actually like it.I can't believe that little thang .
Gaw DAMN has this guy got some tasty licks !! I mean shit !! And those pickups are about as smooth and transparent as I've ever heard. Nice. Work.
What is that guitar tuned to and what kinda slide is this?
what DiMarzio pickups are those?
How does it sound when you actually strum the guitar on a cleaner setting?
Can I run this into a 4 ohm 20 or 30 watt speaker if it has a 50 watt rating?

Great! type of speaker in the cab? Thanks.
Why didn't this tube technology take off

A question: works the power tube compression proportional to the volume ?
about the tone....this or the Bluguitar Amp1?
Hello, I saw on the video that you plugged both line out and speaker out. Can you use them at the same time ?
And thats exactly the question I'm looking for an answer.. Any idea?
……..waiting!
Sounds nice!

...What happened to Namm coverage?
Oh... it's still coming!
this vs the fender superChamp x2 (valv + effects + earphones Out) ...but soundwise...any thoughts people? thanks;)
This is what I wondering lol
Wonder if anyone else heard the beatles reference, that's a bit of an unknown one.
David Johnsen "Within You Without You," correct?
Nate Popodi Yes indeed.
YES
as unknown as a track off their most famous album :)
Now I want one, not again Juanito B.
That Gibson DC must have come and gone so fast I've never seen it 😂.
How big of a cab can I play this through?
Anthony Simeone did u ever find out
Whatever cab you want. 16 Ohms gives you 12.5 watts, 8 Ohms gives you 25 and 4 Ohms gives you the full 50.
You can play it through 4X12 or a tiny single speaker. I use and old crate amp with a Celstion 70 in it.
Within you without you ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I loved that
Holy Beatles batman!
Green slide, huh?
Cool👍
Vox is best for slashing chords and jangle, this is more blues...
Bad example of what this little amps sounds like, this guy is a f-in wizard.
I just bought one, terrible hum coming from it,its like 60,s cycle have no problems with other amps plugged in on the same circuit.
A “LunchVox” amp
😍 within you without you
So how did you get those reverb tones. It doesn't have a Reverb on and no fx loop
Its B Lo 1:53 Guitar>MXR Reverb>Vox
man that guy can play......
Reviewing an AC30 voicing amp head and not playing Bohemian Rhapsody? SACRILEGIOUS
Sometimes people play different songs? I know. Weird!
UR either a Beatle or a Stone. Can’t be both.
I really wanted this amp to be good... but it sounds strangled in the frequencies like most small solid state amps.
I've got this amp and it's great, but it does fart a bit. Glad this video shows me the same farts.
Farts?
9:57 No.
Evil guitarist lighting
Good Beatles song that!
this guys playing makes me nervous
great amp tho
Wow brilliant across the universe take ! George Harrison !!
instantly googled it and £199 sounds a bit steep for my liking, I'll wait until it drops in price I think
200 quid for an amp that sounds like that? Sounds like a bargin to me ... but if it drops, it can only be more so :-)
Rohan Leach Probably right but it looks like it should be £90 ish. plus he's using a £1000 mic, I'm rocking a snowball still 😁
So then you value amplifiers by how much the weigh, not by how they sound.
New Gibson PRS lol
Cool pure sound, but an absolutely ugly toaster type for micro fingers!
The story on these is they over heat when used hard for a long time and shut down!
Never happened to me and I thrash mine quite hard.
3+ hour gig in a hot bar and mine never shut off
Only if you use the wrong ohm cab as stated in the owner’s nanual
Not true for me. I push mine and it has no issues.
not true at all...
George Harrison!!
Honestly I think this too small to be an real amp o_O
'N im not sure if its big enough to fit in my hand either !!!
Guitars too loud, and then can't hear you talk. Production production production.
