If you like this strange song, you can support my music by sharing this video, or even better by buying my stuff: I have a new special edition reissue CD, vinyl, books, lovely T-shirts including a new Passionflower shirt, guitar tabs, art postcards, guitar picks, all at my website which is called jongomm dot com because that my name. If you don't like this strange song, that's probably not your fault.
The bass notes sound this way because 1) Great guitar, 2) Gauge 68 string tuned down to A, 3) Great pickups, 4) Boss OC-5 pedal, 5) great producer. If you have access to any 2 of those things, you'll be OK.
Hi evrybody, i love very much your songs, i mean the global art, guitar and voice and lyrics, i assume u'll have no time for give us just an explanation here, i'll try anyway. The effects on the voice are changing during the piece and on the guitar too i believe, i can't see u manage the voicelive 3 ( i understand u have that one) with ur feet. ( i know u can manage all the sounds alone in live situation) So, the question is how do u do that here on this vid ? is there someone doing that for you ? Is it done after , or did i just misheard ? Peace.
Lyrics: Will you be long x4 /breath noise/ (oh part) Will you be long x4 Complete me fill me up I'm hollow, I meet myself and we follow our feet to where we can swallow you whole. Swallow you whole. to where we can swallow ... (ah falsetto part) Will you be long x4 to me
There really is no other performer on the plan like Jon is there. Every song is just a whole new audio experience. It almost doesnt seem enough to describe him as a musician haha Like there are world class musicians, and then there's Jon!
I saw a comment last week from someone who said, “oh yeah I used to love Gomm but then I found out he used string benders like a lap steep player”. F’kin hilarious. Both a compliment and an insult in one. Not only does he do it all without any tricks, he sings beautifully and writes great songs. Astonishing talent across the board.
Two people must really enjoy being miserable. Jon's music puts my anxiety at ease. I had covid pneumonia and spent 68 days hospitalized. Twenty five days of my life I have no memory of. His music has helped immensely during this rehabilitation process (learning to walk again among other things). Thank you Jon!
I came alone to arrive at two doors.. One of me went left and the other went right. Now both of me are kicking the ever living piss out of this here new guitar while I melt your brain...
Kind of like an acoustic Tool. Very well done! The dissonance is bone chilling. The guitar riffs are mesmorizing. The drumming keeps us grounded. So good!
The frenetic energy is palpable, but it makes the center calm bridge magnetic, like the eye of the storm. The result is the chord and backing synth at 4:02 pulls at my chest palpably. Its an acoustic equivalent of why I like some Djent but not most: chaos needs a backbone to take you for a ride, and this one just opens your soul. I know streaming is a new thing, but your sharing is why I bought this album and your re-release. Soon as I get an unembarrassing vinyl setup, I'll be back for more. Now all I need are shirts my size...
Just found out about you. Just wow! Everyone should listen to your stuff. Now following you on Spotify, you’re amazing! Listening to your art is a blessing!!
"Always someone chasing and fleeing at the same time." I completely understand. Your songs continue to mesmerize Jon. My new fav! Thank you and as always...Blessings.
Very cool. I love how you somehow continue to find new textures to add to your sound, and how you stack them in such interesting, beautiful layers. I would never describe this song as weird because it's about your feeling of weirdness. Rather, it's pure genius that you have a musical vocabulary to help us to feel something that you feel inside. As always, bravo.
I love this strange song. Thanks for sharing it. It reminds me of the frequent shift in a day between overwhelmingly too much input, trying to take control, acting confident, giving in at time to the flow of the moment... Musically there's that one opening section that reappears throughout that reminds me of classic Hedges. I love post-Hedges music, but I don't think his style has been exhausted yet, by any means. Thanks for sharing this.
Love this. Major vibes of "Aerial Boundaries" by the late great Michael Hedges from 0:27-0:47, and that signature guitar sounds incredible! So glad the algorithm directed me your way with "Passionflower" years ago.
This is beautiful. I play on nylon guitars. I may have to buy your new signature series steel string guitar. (I've been saving money for a luthier made double top baritone flamenco guitar.)
This is honestly his most brilliant piece yet. The beginning is of course a bit of an unintended homage, in the way that these things pop up at the highest levels of artistic expression. I have always admired how Jon extends, with laser directed discipline, his sounds, rhythms and capacity to fill space.
Extase in Person! Danke. 💓 💪🏼 💪🏼 Stark Mann. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 🤜🏻🤛🏻
"If you don't like this strange song, that's probably not your fault." If I do like this strange song, am I to blame? I can't help it, it just resonates somewhere deep, ya know?
Wow, this was yet another amazing feat by the God of acoustic guitars. Loved it, and the direction you're heading in. Keep up the mind blowing experience which is Jon Gomm.

I love how Jon Gomm Continues to reinvent his sound and is always pioneering new percussive techniques. He will be known as a legend in the genre .

00:35 Sounds a little like Hedges. I love when guitarist experts uses that technique. Makes me think of snow-swept plains.
Most musicians: I wanna get some friends together and make a band.
Jon gomm: I wanna get some of myself together and make a band.
The into gave me Aerial boundaries - Michael Hedges vibes
This song really tells a story. I find myself just seeing and feeling the motion and the adventure.

Blown away.
Original, unique, spicy, reflective, hauntingly energetic, supreme timing/rhythm/melody/lyrics! Took me far away.
busy,sickly,pretty,I love it.
Master Jon Gomm 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 nothing less by the one and only 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is something special. No other persona on this planet can do what Jon does. This is unique, and nothing else comes close. Amazing connection.

Very tool indeed. I thought the same
wait it does wtf 😂
All I gotta do is master the left hand strings and my desk tapping in highschool won't be in vain
My new favourite song.
"Swallow You Whole" what a fascinating choice of words and song!
what a dimension I mean this is more than words can describe
Love it! Kind of Michael Hedges inside! It sounds so good! 👍🏻👏🏻
Definitely a Michael Hedges vibe to this, especially at the start.
@@PF_74 I agree!!!
I soo agree!!
damn that pause left me with goosebumps for 5 minutes
