My six millionth time watching this... can I just admire how #Badass Adalind is... She's been thru hell after being used by every single guy on the show and her mother... Sean, The Royals, her mother, and the fact that she handled Juliet with panache... And she lost her kid and whilst pregnant did a freaky ritual where she drank blood and her mother on two separate occasions!
They're two imperfect people but perfect together.I always wanted Nick to find someone who will love him as he is and even in my dreams I didn't I thought about Adalind. When I watched s1 I thought she was only one of the case Nick has to deal which will end itself in s1 but with every season her character developed from evil to someone who can die for her loved ones. She tested his patience to limit.Their journey from Enemies to soulmates was awesome
@@Billy13346 mmmmm maybe in the first season she did, but she never liked the Grimm part of him. I have always thought Nick and Juliette drifted apart and even though they tried to be together, they couldn't; people change and with Nick and Juliette they changed to the point where they loved the idea of each other more than the actual person in front of them. Like Nick said, they had their chance, they just didn't try to work it out. And with Adalind, well, freaking chemistry was there from day one, but I never thought they would end up.together. At first I wasn't really sure, but ended up loving them as a couple and as a family; specially when, in spite of how Renard and Nick had a bicker with each other to the point of ripping each other's throats, they somehow managed to become a blended family. Love how they put the kids before their quarrel in the last couple of episodes, and how Adalind loves her children from the heart and loves Nick in a way she never thought she could be capable of loving. But then again I suppose Nick never felt he could have love or a family after he became a Grimm, even with Juliette in his life as a lover, but then Adalind comes into his life in a not gonna kill you way and gives him just that.
I agree, Juliette loved the idea of love. She turned down his proposal because he was hiding things. Even when she finally understood what was going on, she still kept a distance sort of. When she became a Hexenbeast and Henrietta asked her about her true self, she said no. But when she put the engagement ring on her finger, she wogued, which made me believe the Hexenbeast was her true self and she didn't really love Nick.
They hated each other from the start, but there was always an attraction and some mean spirited flirting. They always teased each other cause they knew the other was attracted to them. They was clear from the start. Nick knew Adalind thought he was good looking and vice versa. As the show progressed, Adalind learned a major fact about Nick, he would do anything to protect those he cares about. Early on in her pregnancy with Kelly, her goal was protecting this one so that she didn't lose another. It wasn't out of any sense of right or wrong or wanting to be good, she just couldn't bare to lose another baby. As a survivor she did what survivors do, adapt to their environment. First step, get Nick to except the baby as his, get his hand on her stomach, create that bond. Nick didn't fail, first words out of his mouth to Juliette "think what you want about Adalind but the child is innocent". From that point on Adalind played nice with team Grimm, she adapted, but she always thought they would throw her out once they had no use, but Nick didn't. Instead he protected her, showed up to the hospital, included her in his future plans, and treated her like a person. I think she was shocked and started to realize he would be there for her even if she didn't deserve it. Then the attraction that had always been there kicked in and she started walking around in less clothing, wanting to show she felt comfortable around him. She also made up excuses for him to sleep in the same bed. She seduced him basically, but for the first time, she did it cause she wanted to, she truly wanted to be good enough for him. She practically cried when telling him she wouldn't hurt him. She knew he had no reason to trust her and knew soon she was going to have to leave because of the threats from Black Claw but she stayed as long as she did cause she needed Nick to know she cared, she needed his trust before she left so that she didn't lose him. She was smart, she couldn't leave before be knew she wouldn't hurt him. She succeeded, he never doubted her intentions. It was just so well written off am arc.
It was a surprise for the writers, too. Adalind was only meant to be in a few episodes as a minor side character originally, but fan reaction got them to keep bringing her back, and she ended up as a regular cast member
@@terri9261 yeah at that moment, it was like he finally looked at her like she was human... All the time in his head she was evil.. Or a manipulator. But Adalind had the best character growth on the show. She was a younger lawyer, then we find she was being controlled by her mother and Sean, and the first time she failed her mother threw her out fo the house, blatantly letting her know, Sean used her love for him, and she was abandoned. Showed her resourcefulness and bravery by joining the Royalty, both Nick's mom and Sean's were impressed she went thru a ritual to get her hexenbiest back, whilst pregnant. Lost her kid, and fought to get her back, slept with a Grimm despite how grimm's scare the evr loving crap out of Wesen... Had another baby. Worked with a Grimm. Wow. I left this series back in S3 when he was with Juliette. If I'd know this would happen!! Man I do not want to start from the start. Any recommendations for a recap vid that I can watch uptill season 4 premiere?
I've watched a few episodes of this show now, because I couldn't resist the over the top trashy soap opera supernatural fanfic style drama of the show, as revealed by this video. 😅 Enemies to lovers? Winner. Love potions and ridiculous plot reasons that he had to fight her and kiss her on the mouth for her to lose her powers, and that she bodyswapped into his girlfriend, and had sex to remove his powers? And got knocked up? The trashiness is winner. Makes me want to rewatch True blood. 😂
Remember, Renard controlled her actions with Aunt Marie. Every evil thing she did that followed at the beginning was a retaliation for what was done to her. Her Mother being killed, her daughter being taken away, etc. Things that may excuse her actions based on what was done to her. Now let's talk about the real bad guy, Juliet. Nick & Team Grimm gave Juliet multiple chances but she liked being evil. The Hexanbeast just brought out her underlying personality traits. Nick told her he'd accept her and love her. He tried but she just liked being nasty. Juliet did so many awful things to them. Juliet was in a relationship with Nick, supposedly "in love" with him yet she chose to kill his Mother. Not only did she do that, she chopped Kelly's head off and left it as a prize in a box for Nick to find. This hurts to write... There are no words. Her actions were from someone who should have loved him. Juliet of all people knew how tragically he lost his Mother the 1st time and with utterly no remorse, she takes his Mother away from him again in such a vile and vicious way. Nah, there are no excuses or justifications for that awful, monstrous behaviour. Juliet got what she deserved. From the very 1st moment Nick & Adalind locked eyes, there was a connection and chemistry. There are so very many scenes where you literally see Nick falling hopelessly in love with Adalind.
