    I really like the other format where Alexa is always present. It is her spirit and body language that adds so much to the presentation but equally important to the learning.

    Merci, Alexa! That's so helpful. Could you (or some kind follower) also explain why sometimes people pronounce the 's' at the end of 'dos' - mais pas toujours?

    Wow, this is good to know, thank you! I'm trying to think if we have any rules like that in English. No word comes to mind when it comes to pronouncing certain words.

    Can you please tell me the difference between J'ai été and J'étais?
    I still can't understand.
    Moreover, the Google translator shows "I was" as the translation for both of them?!

    • @pompikaushal4604
      @pompikaushal4604 4 роки тому +1

      Because it means only when one says eg I have only 2 mobiles je n'ai que deux téléphones portables like the combination ne pas is used for negation similarly the combination ne que is used to mean "only "

    • @KimberlyGreen
      @KimberlyGreen 4 роки тому +1

      It's the way French works when saying _only_ , as in «I only have X left». They use verb negation. Literally, it means «We have not more than three days of vacation.» If you are already on vacation, and speaking to someone about it, the "only ... left" part is implied. It's kind of the same mentality of «Je brosse les dents.» The assumption is, when you say you are brushing "the teeth" you mean _your_ teeth. It's contextual.
