You keep talking about Boston losing last year after going up 3-1. What you fail to mention every time is that the Leafs and no where near as good as the Florida Panthers are to be able to pull that off.
I hope they don't use this as an excuse to bring everybody back, Keefe has to go and bring Marner and Tavares on your way out with you. I get the old no trade clauses but these two are not bonafide playoffs performers. We're stuck with Matthews and Nylander who are also not the epitome of the guys you want to lead you to the promised land...our guys are not comparable to other teams top guys, it's sad and all of the things we need to make this a playoff team is astronomical. We lack defense, goaltending and most important, leadership. Players acting like 9 year olds don't make it deep in the post season...

The leafs are actually a winning team when Matthews is Injured or away from the team. I'll take my chances with 35-19-2 instead of what's there record with Matthews in elimination games?
The season is done either way, at least this way the leafs have created an easy out. I can hear it now, post game" you know we just gotta keep trying our effort is there you know without Matthews that's a hard Boston team to beat, my hats off to them we just weren't getting our looks"

Hey Habs fan here let me give you my unbiased analysis.
For game 5 assuming you have a fully healthy Matthews Id like to see your top 3 guys being Matthews, Nylander and Marner on the same line.
You gotta live or die by your best guy. For us in Montréal it was easy, our best guy was in net, he would bail us out so many times that the Canadiens would always play one step better than they should on paper.
I wanna see Matthews with Nylander and Marner on the first shift, I wanna see them with energy and conviction they don't need they MUST-SET-THE-PACE. You will not set the pace with Reaves or Domi as good as they are in their own domain.
The big bucks guy gotta bring it tonight there is no other choice.
Tonight many jobs are at play and no one is safe, from the GM to the coach to the best players on this team. Toronto cannot afford another first round lost with he caliber of player they put on the ice not with those mediocre result.
Pasternak is playing hurt that’s why he’s not his normal self, it’s not that Marner is shutting him down.

Guys georgiev has been o.k and that’s all the avs need remember we won with a one eyed kuempher and complete siv in francouz in net so it can be done with o.k but not bad goaltending.
There continues to be a clamor to ax (at a minimum) Keefe, Marner, Tavares, Samsanov, Brodie, etc. Changes may be in order, but they will not necessarily lead to Lord Stanley's promised land.

Have you ever heard the expression about putting all you eggs in one basket?
You can't see it if you're a Leafs fan because your emotions blind you, but the Leafs absolutely can come back and win this series. It has happened so many times in playoff hockey: a team is facing elimination at 3-1 and looks all but dead, their fans are thinking about the off-season and have given up hope. Then they manage somehow to squeak out a win in game 5 and bring the series back home, and now they have life. Now they just have to win at home to force a game 7. The momentum has shifted very much and the pressure is all on the other team...and the rest becomes history.
And that's where we are now.

Matthews, he was the best player for one game. For the rest of the series he has done nothing with his easy matchup.

The lines. Nylander has shown that he can be defensively responsible if he wants to be. Last year, two years ago, I don’t remember the time exactly, he played an entire game against McDavid in Edmonton and shut him down. So he can do it. The real question is, does he care enough about winning to do it?
I would expect Woll, Samsonov is likely done with the Leafs. And again, if you have to score 4 goals to win you are going to lose in the playoffs.

Mike Bossy sucks in playoffs compared to Matthews, Bossy had 17 goals 3 straight playoff years and 10 in the other, he sucks and couldn’t hold Matthew’s jock strap, Auston is clutch
