Worst rule in the NHL. I used to think Puck over the glass delay of game was bad but this is the absolute worst rule.
Yeah, really. Stunning and brave rule makers.
He should wear the chin strap tighter. Plus he could have gone to grab it but he didn't.
Gretzky had a flimsy helmet. If opponents knew they could just rip it off.
@@colonelquack the rule was implemented recently. It was made around 2018. It’s a safety rule, made after Torey Krug made that infamous hit whoever it was when Krug had no helmet on.
Pick over the glass is actually a good one
😁Right now at this moment, 6:36 PM PST on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 ; Canes are leading 5-1 with 3 minutes to play in the 3rd period. It looks like Canes are going to win this game. Go Canes!
Great reffing as usual😊
Gotta love the classic “off with your bucket” move Martinook looks to have pulled lol
Pretty sure that Carolina player ripped the helmet off him. I guess you need to wear your chinstrap a little tighter.
He did they reviewed it at intermission break it was like horrible refs
most if not all players play with a incredibly loose strap, def wouldn't blame seigs for getting his helmet taken off in a scrum
Missed the high stick on hughes that made him bleed and the vicious boarding on Bratt in the 3rd just awful. Devils played bad and I think they would've lost but Wes and his clowns have been bad for some time now
did you even watch the replay? he sticks his head under the canes arm and then pops his head up knocking off his own helmet.
*gets helmet pulled off his head
It isn't actually pulled off. He is more punched in the head and his helmet falls off instead. If you slow it down you see it is just hit and falls off. He needs to tighten up the chin strap plain and simple.
@@JarradBruessel32 ok same call lmaooo rouging since when is either legal
@@SportsClips-jw5ft a slight punch is common in board battles bud.
@@JarradBruessel32 im 100% biased but there is no way you can tell me that if I slow it down I can see anything when his back is to the camera and you actually cant see a thing.
A gentle hit to the side of another players head does not remove your helmet normally. Something wrong with his helmet.
People gonna say he pulled his helmet off but I mean he really took very little effort so maybe strap it on tighter bud. Also hard to tell if he really did it intentionally or not
okay jeffrey i wonder which team you support
I’m gonna assume you support New Jersey since you disagree. I mean watch the video, his helmet comes off with ease in a scrum and it’s not obvious that it was pulled off. But if you can’t take video evidence then idk what to tell ya. Sorry your devils lost. It’s a long series. Better luck next time I guess
Also if you wanna blame the refs for this one then tell me what the refs did to allow the other four goals? Play better and the refs don’t matter
@@jcsandstorm919 might wanna learn what the concept of “momentum” is in hockey champ. 2 goal difference is a lot better off than 3, also he’s right you seem extremely biased.
@@jcsandstorm919 I'm not saying anything about the match result, just that this was a clear missed penalty. Go enjoy your team's win
Doesn’t matter if he pulled it off or not, canes controlled this game from start to finish. Devils never stood a chance
He should tighten that strap. His helmet was barely touched
That's a dang-it
the amount of time he was allowed to stay on the ice was atrocious. I've seen way less called
Это вам за Рейнджерс ❗️😳😏😁😉🤫😎
love me canes.
HATE that helmet rule.
_Get rid of it._ It's an absolute absurdity that Siegenthaler has to leave the ice that quickly. It's not even like he just has to leave once the puck clears the zone or something -- as soon as it's away from his stick, now his team just has to be shorthanded for a bit, because reasons? There's no place for that kind of capricious nonsense in the sport.
The helmet rule was a joke when it was introduced to the NHL, it was a joke when it cost Germany Olympic gold, and it's still a joke now.
Fast trying to break sticks with his skate blade in the scrum 😂
wasn't as bad as the missed double-minor high stick call on Hughes
Hughes lifted the stick into his face. Thats not a penalty lol.... watch the replay a little closer.
🤣 even the broadcast said it was Hughes on stick. And there was a missed board on staal that was 50/50 and didn’t get called, a missed high stick by a devil on a canes player that didn’t get called, missed interference that was 50/50 against the devils that wasn’t called, and a missed trio where he leaves his foot out to trio a canes player. If you want to complain about 50/50 calls then in reality canes fans have more of a leg to stand on than devils fans 😂
marcus petterson reference
In the penalty box in OT, when they get eliminated. Great place to be.
how is there no penalty against removing an opponent's helmet? it's a dangerous abuse of that rule. not just unsportsmanlike, just downright spineless. no way they score there without that dirty move.
Because he barely hit it.
shut up dumb head, this is the youtube comments. I'm king here
The players keep the strap loose on their helmets. Sometimes helmets come off.
@@willyshep6796 yeah sometimes your brakes fail if you cut the lines
Change the rule back now. Let him play
Devils don't worry aboot the first 2 games
Это вам не менты
Вот так и Шмидта порвали не то что Рейнжеры и Ванечека порвут.
He is allowed to go and grab his helmet as well and put it back on. He chose not to.
If that’s a penalty devils might score to make it a 1 goal game horrible first period by devils but whenever we were feeling good refs ruined it poor JACK
Sure. You got smoked. Staal line shut down hughes as expected. That’s what the canes do at home. Get used to it.
I would've gotten the penalty at that point,
never thought of that, but i think you are right. i wonder if they coach the players in situations like this. the NJ player seemed like he was more aware of the rule and getting off the ice than he did in assessing the situation.
Do you even know how to skate, internet tough guy?
hindsight is 20-20
If not its carolina Florida 😁🇨🇦🇺🇸
What a stupid rule
Stupid rule
nothing new to the devils, they have been getting shafted by the officating the entire playoffs so far. They missed a high stick on Hughes that drew blood to. I swear sports gambling is starting to sway officials and games.
Leafs Devils hung over 😂😁🇨🇦🇺🇸
Dude I could have told you we were ass.
I’ll say again as I’ve said before.
The only reason we beat the rangers in game 7 was because they played like they did in games 3 4 and 5. If the rangers played like they did in 1,2, and 6. We would have been swept.
@@DeltaLimaDelta Don't say "we". You whiny lil beeeeeeeeeyatch! Cheer for the Rangers, dolt.
Bad rule honestly. They'll let play go on when a goalie is missing his helmet, but a player has to get off? The inconsistency is crazy.
I have a feeling this series is going to show us all just how bad a team the Rangers were. Not how great New Jersey was, how bad the Rangers were.
Both can be true, and they are.
Can't agree with you more...after they beat my Pens in the 1st round last year I heard Rags fans talking about a Dynasty and how they were a "now" team....1 Cup win since 1940.....where are they "now"? LOL another year without a Cup...going on 30 years...and they're a "top" organization?
We knew the Rangers underperformed, though. But yeah, scanning through the stats of the Devils' skaters was quite illuminating.
